Why many of its citizens are lost in the glee of a deceptive change and the North Eastern part of the country at the mercy of a renewed siege by the terrorists boko haram Nigeria is presently a country without leadership as the Newly Elected president and vice are both on foreign tour at the same time just less than one week after been sworn in to office.
While the President is on a 3 day journey to Niger and Chad to seek co-operation against the terrorists (same move he criticized the past administration of making) he is expected back in the country by weekend and immediately jet out for a G-8 meeting which will make him spend less than 3 days in the country within one week of assumption into office.
The vice president on his part is leading a team to world economic summit in South Africa for undisclosed number of days, but made a brief stop over in Sudan for the Sudanese president inauguration.
Nigerians are worried as the new president is yet to appoint any member of his team, coupled with the new spate of killings in the North and a general atmosphere of disbelief and shock about his ability to rule Nigeria.

President Buhari's first trip outside Nigeria is to Niger a muslim country.

Vice President Osibanjo's first trip outside Nigeria is to Sudan a muslim country.

I hope this is not the start of the rumoured "Islamization" agenda?

Further , Omar Bashir the re elected president of Sudan who the Buhari administration saw fit to send his vp to attend his swearing in is still wanted by the World Court for crimes against humanity regarding his role in sponsoring Janjawiid militias who pillaged black Africans in Darfur.

How many people from the same region were given the key portfolios in Jonathan administration contrary to precedent?

Jonathan going to Israel in a pretend pilgrimage was actually the first diplomatic mission and visit by a Nigerian president.

The religion of past leaders influenced their international politics towards Israel.

Besides we are expecting Buhari to visit Saudi Arabia for Hajj - a purely religious affair that will be covered and paid for with state funds.

I will rather we maintain relationship with Israel that has produced over 80% of noble laureates and has contributed immensely to the development of mankind in all human endeavours than with Saudi Arabia that only in exports Islamic extremism.

Please let's try and be objective and mature in our analysis and postings. We know for a fact that people in govt and the political parties come to NL to gauge opinion.

In this case it is clearly wrong for both the President and VP to be out of the country at the same time. It's simply not done. I can only think it's a result of the fact that there is not yet a chief of staff in Aso Rock, who would normally be in charge of planning such things. All in all it's no big deal as Buhari is quite close by in Niger. it's not like he's gone to India or Brazil. What's more important is the urgent need to get the principal offers appointed quickly.

he is entitled to using state fund for hajj. Citizens of Nigeria are sponsored annually for hajj using govt money. it is in the budget, so it's not a problem. my mother was a beneficiary. Jonathan was as well. so if Buhari benefits, you shouldn't make a fuss about it.
