Awoniyi weighed in with 2 assists, nice one, BUT he nids to step up his finishing and goal conversion rate asap. I guess the pressure/tension got to him as did others in the first half (IF NOT EH! SAVIOUR (our saviour), what a player, i noticed this boy's huge ball talent in the super 8 in the abuja national stadium where he played for the siasia led under 23 dream team, i know we have another musa yahaya in the lad. sneaky and dashing runs, fleet footed, good dribbling skills, a good passer of the ball and above all an eye for goals.

ISAAC SUCCESS: what more can i say, 2 games with 2 goals already. the beast we call u. u re the real deal. i lack adjectives to describe u my man.

YAHAYA: nimble footed, trickery on the ball, the iniesta of our team. the world will see what bundle of skill u trully are, this is ur time.

SOKARI: the midfield maestro but i call u the midfield lubricator, like engine oil u lubricate the midfield. enyimba wont be able to keep u after this tournament cos u will be on ur way to bigger clubs in europe. the commentator was so full of praise for this lad, the sky is ur starting point.

Yahaya and Iheanacho can do all that for us. He was there as a centre forward and nt as a supporting striker. Accept it he is not clinical in front of goal. He would have missed that chance that Isaac Success scored. He is an excess luggage in that attack and must be offloaded in the next game. angry

Plus, Awoniyi plays like someone with 2 left legs. grin

I really wonder why folks here are screaming and calling for Iheanacho's inclusion. Please take some minutes to go over our game vs Brazil and you'd see that he was not doing any marking at all!

Kelechi Iheanacho is a very gifted plyer 9 no mistakes about that) but for Flying Eagles to win on the world stage, all the players have to dig in and graft!

I say this again, this starting 11 should have started against Brazil. They'd have set the work ethics tone for the flair players on the bench! If we had grafted against Brazil rather than playing "big man" football, we would have gotten at least a draw!

For those calling for changes ahead of game against Hungary, I say NO! Now that the guys are gaining their confidence back, don't change a winning team! I like the hunger in Isaac Success when he came on and I'd like Manu to keep it that way; at least for the next game.

As for Simon Moses, I see him as our impact player in this tournament. He should get some playing time against Hungary and then go full blast in the knockout stages!

Lastly, Nigerian fans are so fickle in their love and support. A team that has not lost in years and has brought several moments of glory to our dear country is suddenly a bad team after a world cup loss to, wait for it, BRAZIL! Na wah for una o!

I believe in this team!

Your Post is on point but the part that Upset me is when you said 'Its Brazil'........What so special about the Brazilian team? We could have beat them if the Technical crew and manu garba is sound Tactically.

Maybe but Isaac Success deserve to start ahead of Awoniyi........Akinjide Idowu is doing good Job in that mildfield,he is better than the injured Ifeanyi matthew.

ur right, I watched d match, our midfield losses ball easily, there passes were weak, short!! Nd dey also need ball control practice nd trapping lessons, wen it comes to dat dey all suck! D Germans will flog us if we dnt setup our game! Our defence nd midfield need cohesion n understanding.

THE DAY REPLAYED – Both Germany and Brazil rubber-stamped their places in the Round of 16 at the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015 on Wednesday. The former beat Uzbekistan 3-0 in Christchurch, while the South Americans narrowly edged past Hungary with a 2-1 triumph to see the giants coast in the knockout stages.

Indeed, Brazil were forced to come from behind after going into the break 1-0 down, but eventually got the better of a ten-man Hungary side that fought bravely until the end. Andreas Pereira scored the decisive penalty with just four minutes left on the clock to seal the win in New Plymouth.

Germany initially struggled to get to grips with Uzbekistan but eventually imposed themselves on the game and recorded a comfortable 3-0 triumph. Marc Stendera grabbed a superb brace to emerge as the leading light for the victors.

However, it was Fiji who provided the most surprising news of the day thanks to their 3-0 win over Honduras, which marked a maiden FIFA World Cup win for the tournament newcomers from Oceania. The players celebrated wildly and now have a chance of reaching the next stage in the final round of group matches.

In Group E Nigeria posted a comfortable 4-0 win over Korea DPR, who themselves are yet to taste victory at a FIFA U-20 World Cup.

There were 13 goals in four games on day six at the U-20 World Cup, but the pick of the bunch was without doubt Kingsley Sokari’s strike to put Nigeria 3-0 up against Korea DPR. After the Koreans failed to properly clear a corner, the ball landed directly at Sokari’s feet 20 yards out and he wasted little time in smashing an unstoppable shot into the top-left corner.

Fairytale script
The sun may have been setting as it turned the sky red over the stadium in Christchurch at half-time, but it was then that Fiji were beginning to shine. The underdogs from Oceania, taking part at the tournament for the first time ever, were 3-0 up against Honduras and could scarcely believe they were about to record a maiden competition victory. Key to the triumph was their ruthlessness in front of goal, with each of their three shots rippling Honduras’ net.

Nigeria’s Saviour
Striker Saviour Godwin lived up to his name in New Plymouth, taking the plaudits for his part in Nigeria’s victory over Korea DPR. The match was goalless at the break but in the second half Godwin came to his side’s rescue, netting a brace inside six minutes to pave the way for his team to pick up all three points.

Family affair
One former Germany international will have been particularly delighted with the substitution that was made in the 74th minute of Germany’s match against Uzbekistan. It was then that Pascal Kopke, son of erstwhile Germany goalkeeper Andreas, a European Championship winner in 1996, was brought on to the field. The youngster was a late addition to the squad and only arrived in New Zealand three days ago. After recovering from jetlag, Kopke got his first taste of the action and played alongside the descendant of another famous figure in the world of football: Uwe Seeler’s grandson Levin Oztunali.

50 – It was a milestone occasion for Nigeria, who played their 50th game at an U-20 World Cup. The Flying Eagles have so far recorded 21 wins, ten draws and 19 defeats. Their first tournament outing was exactly 32 years ago on 4 June 1983, when they beat the Soviet Union 1-0 in the Mexican city of Monterrey.

The double pivots of Idowu and Mathew will be beter

Mathew can assist and score long range shots from outside the Box like Lampard he is also good at counter attack long balls, but Ifeanyi Ifeanyi is not good at that

We should take this victory lightly until we scale through. Against a well prepared top side, we would pay for the amount of misses. It seems Awoniyi got tensed on the big stage and forgot all the finishing training the coaching crew put him through.
the coach is beginning to fix the loopholes noticed in the first match, the boys will do better in their next match. im very optimistic we will make it to d final

I think idowu,mathew,and sokari combination should be tried in training. Or idowu,nwakali and mathew combination. But problem with nwakali is dat he is too attack conscious and thus expose the defence during counter-attack but defend,shoot & pass very well. ifeanyi ifeanyi is good against physical teams playing long balls. But teams with quick passes, he is xtra luggage. because guy is slow, poor short passes, no forward movement and too hesistant sometimes. And if the coach want to stick to him then fine. yahaya and iheanacho / bulbwa & yahaya on the flanks with success in the centre is another good combination for attack. with awoniyi as sub for success or kelechi and simon or saviour for yahaya

this is the line up I would like to see on Sunday

Joshua, Musa, Ndidi, Bello, Mustafa, Idowu, Mathew (yes he will be back for Hungary according to doc), Sokari, Iheanacho, Yahaya/Saviour and Success (Awo and Moses can super sub)

However I am not 100% confident on Mustafa, looks a bit too small for big attackers (just my opinion)

According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer. com ’s editorial staff, Inter Milan have made contact with Udinese over the transfer of Nigeria Under 20 international Isaac Success. The Bianconeri suits are prepared to allow the Flying Eagles star leave Friuli-Venezia Giulia in the summer on the proviso that an interested club meets his asking price thought to be around 15 million euros.
