I even slept at my mum's on the mainland because it's really easy to link thirdmainland from there instead of coming all the way from chevron Ajah, I entered the traffic since 6am o and the whole place was jam packed, they said the flood or traffic isn't an excuse and I should have come since 4.30am or 5am, when I have a home to take care of and husband I will now be going to embassy 4.30am.

Dont worry Chloe7...it will sure end in praise...God has a reason for everything and his purpose is for you to go and come back to collect your visa.Lagos is just one yeye place...rain fall people get to work 2pm...did the visa officers sleep at the embassy or na helicopter dem follow come? Now my own next week that my time is 10am..that means i have to leave house same 4.30am ni?..it is well

Don't be sad. Delay, they say, is not denial
yes o, thank you so much everyone I really appreciate your concerns, the traffic situation right now is pathetic, i'm on my way to ibadan now to do one or two things and I can see the thirdmainland bridge traffic has even extended to after 7up/magodo toll gate, and ikorodu road is blocked, I think the embassy should be able to put this situation into consideration because I wasn't the only one turned back today, we were so many stuck in the traffic.

those officers come by speed boat,so they don't see traffic and the ones that don't come by boat leave a stone throw away from the embassy so they can trek to work

Re: Usa Visit Visa by dunwun: 1:52pm On Jun 10, 2015
abeg Chloe, your visa awaits you. Looking back now, wish they had asked me to come back too. But that's just the benefit of hindsight. I was there in good time today but was denied. Still at a loss as to where I could have gone wrong or rather, where the VO went wrong. She focused on my work place and kept asking questions and typing. To every question I had an answer and the end no strong ties.

Purpose was child birth, clearly stated. She confirmed I was married but didn't even ask about my hubby who isn't travelling. I even thought that was strong enough for a tie. Coupled with my work place which is a multinational oil firm.

Right now, not sure if I should reapply or what my chances will be. Do I apply with hubby or how else do I prove strong ties. I'm beginning to feel the strong ties reason is a camouflage, could there be something else

Chose to share this to let those who've been denied also to know that it happens, cos it seems people would rather share their experiences when they get their visas.

To all those attending their interviews soon esp generous Chloe7(I admire your spirit) wish you the very best and all round favour.

So sad to hear you were denied....i think in my own opinion..US visa officers issues visas without any reason depending on what is in their mind..that strong ties language to me is a mirage...they just collect visa money and deny genuine traveler visas...my cousin who got his visa and traveled 2 years ago(Intention sef was not to come back)..he was not working, single and just 28yrs,virgin passport which he got 2 months before his interview, and purpose of visit was VACATION...the lady just asked him when he intends returning and he mentioned the date and boom..collect your visa in 3 days time...the guy vamoose enter US and about travelling all over Europe for his vacation...not to say he is gainfully employed now, running his degree program and has his papers(via akata marriage thing..na him know)...note,..his first ever flight was to the US as he never even go Ghana before. So my point is its only this visa officers that knows what they want.

they say every disappointment is a blessing in disguise... however getting a date first week of July is possible, it just depends on your determination. when I booked appointment for my mom, it took me 2 sleepless nights of refreshing their page every 5 seconds to get an early date. night is the best time to schedule appointments

Dunwun i'm so sorry about your refusal, I think you should try again, maybe that v.o just woke up on the wrong side of the bed, as for all that ties ties thing I don't believe it o jare, i'm sure the v.o just already knew she wasn't going to give you the visa, Pele, I believe in trial again at least the us embassy has taught me that everything in life isn't easy breezy, all the times i've laid my hands on uk I got it but us no gree me and i've continued to try my luck with them, thos ladies and men cross checking documents sef were pretty irritating, it was just one that attended to me that was okay, as I was turned back like this I just said to myself that this could have been another refusal cheer up, I didn't know what awaited me inside the interview hall if na pass abi na fail, I even forgot that gtbank receipt at home sef but they said it didn't matter.

Hello people, i have been following all the comments here and i feel like having a conference where we all meet and discuss these face to face. I am sorry about the Turn back and denial of our friends today. I can only say, its well. even in the well right?
I have this concern and have brought it here and have had suggestion on it but I have not gotten solution to it yet
I went for an interview on the 19th of May and was denied. I remember the VO ask me who my contact in US is and i said its my brothers wife.(that's what i filled in the form anyway) but i don't know if it was not OK to say i have a younger brother over there and he is married to an American and i used her as a contact.
I applied for a conference that is coming up from July 2 to 11. a church conference and was denied. Now i want to go for a vacation with my mother, wife and daughter. My brothers wife will be due for child birth by late August and my mum want to go for a visit ( Umugwo).
I had already applied for my wife and child and they were to go for interview on the 9th of June for the same conference but when i was denied and people were saying it better to go for an interview as a family, i quickly cancelled the interview and have not rescheduled till now.
Since we will not be going for the conference again, CAN I STILL USE THE SAME APPLICATION FOR THEM TO BOOK FOR INTERVIEW AS WE ARE NOW GOING FOR VACATION OR SHOULD I DO ANOTHER APPLICATION?
What about the Visa fee i paid, WILL I FORFEIT IT IF I DO ANOTHER APPLICATION OR CAN I STILL USE IT FOR THE NEW APPLICATION IF I HAVE TO CHANGE THE APPLICATION.
I have called the number of the embassy someone suggested i call before doing another application but i was told to do a mail and i have so far done two mails but responses were not in accordance with my question.
Can someone help me here pls. I know i can get good advise.
Thank you
Re: Usa Visit Visa by Nobody: 3:48pm On Jun 10, 2015
Dyke004 I think you might have to pay if you are rescheduling after the second time or maybe if you are changing ds 160 numbers, the whole process has become pretty complicated, why not call the embassy instead of doing/sending them a mail.

Relax chloe I pray you get your Visa, but here is what I know, each year the US embassy knows the number of visit visas they would issue to applicants, all they do is simply divide that into number that will be issued per day. Have you noticed most people come here and talk about that particular VO in booth XYZ that is dashing out visas for the day? yea that one is the one to make the quota for the day achievable, all others will either not give you or they drill you, ask for documents e.t.c. before they give you. The next day, the angel will be another VO in another booth. The moment I entered the embassy it wasn't difficult to spot the angel and his/her booth, so when by divine intervention my ticket number popped up there, I knew God was right behind me. here is what you will notice, less than 3 minutes of interview time, his/her line is moving faster than others, if you fall in that booth you will definitely leave people you met waiting at the interview hall, he/she will leave her booth several times to get more passports for interview e.t.c if you spend abit more time in the waiting hall you can never miss the angelic booth of the day. I pray you fall there when the day finally arrives and it will not rain by the grace of God

N.B The question they ask usually are all what we have thrashed out here extensively.

Gratitude to all of you for the advice and encouragement.
I reported here that my passport was stolen with my visa in January this year.
I wrote a mail to the embassy in february.
I reapplied afresh and my visa was granted in april.
The VO asked for a police report and grilled me on my previous travels.

Last week.i applied for my kids 3 of them and they were also given.
I will be a visiting fellow at the University of Michigan Medical Centre in Ann Arbor in the summer so many goodies await you guys.
Travelling with the whole crew.Tickets are very crazy at the moment and will be worse then.
That will be my fourth US visa application all succesful.so permit me to call myself a veteran.
Will henceforth be a regular contributor and adviser to all intending applicants.

Once again.Muito obrigado and Danke shone!!!
