Please, I broke the digitizer glass of my touchscreen hp envy 4 (14inchs). the computer still works fine and the LCD is okay. so, is there anywhere I can get just the digitizer glass only without buying the full display assembly here in naija?. I need to change it asap because the crack looks pretty bad.

The laptop needs cleaning and a new thermal paste/artic silver compound to be applied.
Look for adtwin on this forum. I dont live in nigeria so look for adtwin on this forum.

does it get very hot to the extent of switching off by itself? Laptop's do get hot when u der stress though e.g. heavy apps and games, but this shouldn't affect the laptop. Even if it hasn't, I would suggest and still stand on it that you have a laptop with heat problem. Kindly ignore that engineer and find another qualified one who will either clean your system from the dusts and grits that might be blocking your laptop's air vent, replace your system fan if its the culprit, or perform both maintenance.
It is worthy of note that you need to keep your system off dusty places, exposure to liquid, and stuffy conditions. Your location?

It seems you have an HP or Dell Laptop ?

The DC Jack or the Power jack is faulty.

The battery doesn't not hold charge, you
probably need a new battery. Fix the
two faults and then use google to research
advanced power by right clicking on the battery icon
and see all the box regarding mouse make sure is set
properly. I'm unable to tell precisely what it should be there
as I'm using a Linux. However, you can get back to us once you
fix the Dc jack and the battery then we would take it from there.

I don't live in Nigeria, therefore look for adetwin on this forum, h/she

and since then I have not been able to use the memory card for anything. I even tried formatting it. but it refused. still giving me the same feedback.

Look for a slide button on the card and turn it the other way round. It could be windows settings, try sliding the button first.

Please help. I have not been able to update my Dell Laptop for long now.
I am always getting error whenever i try to download updates even with strong internet connection.
