Avoid what? If you want the cup, you have to defeat the opposition in front of you. Yes it's cowardice to avoid them. Flying Eagles played badly in the first half. Hopefully their errors would be collected in the second half.

I hope to see some yahaya and Moses coming in for sokari and bulbwa.
The problem is that you do not face a team as organized and compact as the Germans as early as the R16 when your team is not yet organized.Nigeria had the talents but clearly lacked organization.

Manu garba is a fool.....wat is Bernard bulbwa doing
At the startup and why must he play 90 mins............. Why didn't he play the other attacking players at all? He should have brought in moses instead of isaac

I expected a change of formation..

Give thanks to God in all situations. We r out but not the end, they can still bounce back in u-23.

And if the next coach sells the game, what happens. We have seen this over the years.

I hope Man City sets up an academy in Nigeria and rescue our young talents from corrupt officials.

Imagine one change in 80 mins in a match we were dominated. Coming from a coach we know is a tactical genius.

You are wrong, serbia would have been an easier prey compare to the Germans. This need no analogy, it's just plain. Germany is probably the most consistant football playing country in the world, i just can't understand what gave Manu Garba the impetus to challenge Germany when there is another option of playing serbia, it beat my imagination. Now i'm wondering what will happen to this lovely thread now that this team have disappointed some, cos for sure i already knw that they won't pass r.16 when they foolishly beat Hungary

The Serbians are similar to the Germans. Tall, physical and very technical and disciplined, especially in defence. They have a system for producing these kind of players. If we play against Serbia like we did today, we will still probably lose

Sadly, Manu Garba lost this game for us. But, I'm not disheartened. We have some talented players for the future in this team. They just need to be properly managed.

That Isaac change was ridiculous. We needed midfield control then. Why bring in an attacker when the attack was having no supply. If Isaac must come in, Awo must go out.

So sad for the players it ended like this. Well done guys. You go garner more experience and come back in 2 years to win the cup!
Garner experience? Do you think this is a senior w.cup? 99% of this team will out-grow this tournament when next it comes(2017), thats if they haven't outgrown it now and believe me due to their failure at this stage of the competition(r.16) you won't remember 70 to 80% of them in 3 to 4yrs time.. It won't have been like this if they had avoided Germany

Remember saying this to somebody. @Watchindelta. And on Germany, hmmm...they are not over-hyped. They are very clinical and shoot accurately. If we slip a bit, that's it. Guess it came to past.

Man Joseph1013 you know this team, you know this coach. How come no changes. We know how God Nacho is. He did not bring him to attack. No defender for a midfield change to increase midfield numerical advantage.

Bloody terrible. Lost my respect for Manu.

Mehn...I'm still lost for words. I just cant explain what happened. I'm confused.

But to say something...Manu let Germany win this match. Plain and simple! There is no other way to sugarcoat it.

Yes we need foreign coaches at the grassroot level ...nigerian coaches only rely on talented players to win matches....they lack ability to read matches and are tactically dumb

Not true. That's what happen when you are bereft of ideas. Germany was not spectacular in this match. Wrong playing pattern. Wrong substitutions. Wrong time of substitutions.

Did you notice there was no will and urgency in this match? We were playing as if we were the ones leading.

These coaches had the chance of grooming this squad but they threw it away. One change. Come on there is no explanation. We had individuals who could turn the match around individually and they refused to bring them in.

Manu Garba killed this game... we had no midfield. we lost entirely in the middle.. then you tell me why yahaya, iheanacho n simon should be on the bench. its a pity but the truth is dis is the end. not just the end of the road 4 nigeria in this tournament but 4 most of those player.. especially those that hv not secured any spot in Europe.

There is no way. Just one change in 80mins and not the right change tactically. Man, I read Manu's words and shivered. I rate him tactically in the class of Wenger. Then you see this kind of myopic coaching. Then you know something is wrong.

I wasn't really interested in this team as i know that Nigeria team use to let u down. But when i came to this thread and read about how ppl are hyping them,i decided to give them a second thought as they didn't impressed me in the AYC.In the first game against Brasil, i knew it was all hype.I wanted us to play Serbia but some wanted to test our strenght early which i know it is wrong as any mistake would be punished severely, besides we are yet to gel enough to play a team with such a great reputation in the tournament. Finally, the coach spoilt everything,i was just cursing him inside my head. The coach is poo, y did he invite them when he had no plan to test them.I would have played idowu, sokari and ihenacho in the middle with moses, awoniyi and yahaya in the front three positions.

The Germans had the midfield. Basic response get in more men into the midfield. Basic elementary tactics. Instead, he took out a midfielder in Godwin. As in.....Aarghhhh.

Take of a right back, bring in another midfielder, maybe Ifeanyi, go three at the back. Pull out Awo, put Success. That is 3-6-1. He did nothing.

I have been following this thread but today manu disappointed me. It shows clearly that Nigerian coaches don't like praise take keshi as case study. Once they get little laurels, Then they can't listen again. Next thing is projecting your players for selfish gains. I always knew him as an impartial coach but today he showed another side I doubt he ever had.you have someone like moses and iheanacho on the bench and you never tried them. Rubbish. God save our football. Germany outclassed us period.

You knew you aint gonna used nacho, yahaya and moses, then why did you called em into the team in the first place?. Anyway I aint gat time for this poo of a team. Let me turn my attention to falcons but falcons coach na another mumu. Naija coaches find it hard to read game and make changes on time. Well not featuring nacho or yahaya or moses didn't remove anything quality from em. They are still talented. Manu lose. Make he go house go collect sack letter trust nff.

I think all those saying we who had differin opinions are not coaches or we do not see d players in training or 'trust manu' can go have an autograph with him now. It's very easy to see when a coach is heading for self destruction. Check my previous posts. I didn't want to seem as a kill joy that's y I didn't leave my prediction of a loss here. #Lessons learnt. You don't judge superstars by a bad day. Iheanacho and co on to greater things.

He made two...two very idiotic changes that did us no good!

Success for Savior;

Nwakali for Sokari.

Tactically silly changes!

Why couldn't he remove bulbwa and put in nwakali and choke the midfield up?..

Why not Moses/yahaya for savior and then success for awoniyi??!!

Why?...Why??....WHY !!!!!

He did not try any tactically right approach. It was clear from the get go. The Germans will know the weak points of the formation because they have softwares that analyse and pick out weak points in teams.

So an early change of style and approach was important to disorganise the German plan. Manu knows this but did not make the changes. I disagree on him not being tactical. Only a tactician will know the moves to stop a Super team from doing well. This is the first match I am seeing him use only one substitute for 80 mins when you are down early. That alone tells the story.
