Thanks for your response folks.

Is it mandatory I sell all my existing stocks/shares with my analog stockbroker before opening an online account? Can I also move all my holdings to my new online account using same CHN? Need your honest advice!

You can move your shares after opening account with the new one..........Discuss with the new one after opening the account and they will give you CSCS share transfer form.................

Bro do you use Morgan? I noticed when i place an order to buy some shares, my portfolio gets updated to reflect my purchase only after the market has closed for the day, making it difficult to get in and out of a market on the same day even if one has met and surpassed his exit price.

It is true that your portfolio gets updated at the close of the trading session but you can actually trade as many times as possible during trading session in a day. All you need is to make sure you trade within your portfolio limit. For instance you purchase some units of a certain stock A, and decide to sell it after making some gains within hours. After selling, that proceed isn't updated immediately on your portfolio but it's there. You can enter another trade with that proceed and it will be executed. You can repeat that process as many times as possible withing trading session.

I hope this helps

you must not wait for your portfolio to be updated before you sell, you can sell again immediately you buy.

Eeya. You dont need to wait till your portfolio reflect your transaction. You can use the proceed of a sell for a buy almost immediately. I have done this alot of time. Once your sell order is done you can use the proceeds for a buy immediately

These stocks in my portfolio are silently performing: Presco, PZ, Total, Fidson, Berger, FO, Conoil, Oando, Unilever (Modest 15% - 30% in 2 months).
While stocks like FBNH and Seplat are dulling.
