I know of people in private universities that did not even have 2 credits in WAEC. In fact I know of a particular guy that was and Art student having only 3 credits in literature, English and government and he is currently in his final year studying chemical engineering in one of those famous private universities.
Government universities in nigeria produces hard core graduates while privates produces indomie graduates like davido.

A semester has 8-13 weeks. A good student gets his syllabus or course outline at the resumption of school. You have the whole 8-13weeks to read for their course. So why this marathon reading?

The problem with our student is what I called misplaced priority. They wud party all semester, drink all day, womanise, marry themsefs without going to see each other's parents, travel round the country etc. As soon as the time table for the exams come out, na so u go see them dey read like say them dey serious

They played all day, and want to read all night. this is a risk of lives and property.

Mtcheeeeew, you would find this in almost every school except maybe private universities of course.
Students that read in inconvenient and horrible places like this are those that haven't touched their books in ages. It is when they suddenly hear the exam timetable is out that they begin their marathon reading in an obvious futile effort to cover the entire syllabus in just 2 or 3 days.

You will never find serious students that have been reading their books and preparing for the exams in places like this. Never!

I will make a first class in any University in Nigeria or any university in the world, as long as the system is fair, ie Lectures are held and scripts are properly marked. Its all about your mentality bro, as a hebronite, I believe i can make a first class anywhere and everywhere that has a just system, including your OAU and UNIBEN.

There is nothing like a "valuable" firstclass. When you give same exam to those guys reading under those dim lights and guys that have access to an air conditioned library, all things being equal, you know the group that will perform better.
