hadetola: I'm not sure you're truly pressed for time if not you would have used your temporary BC to get a one year American passport. Thereby, saving you the cost of changing ticket. They must have given you a temp BC if not go and get something from the hospital verifying that you gave birth to that child, make an appointment to the passport agency near you taking everything you needed initially (tkt, fees, forms etc) you will be interviewed and you can explain the whole BC issue they will offer a 1 year passport instead of the 5 years and before the one year is up I'm sure the BC would have come. Then you can renew passport here in Nigeria or if you want to travel too renew it's up to you. I don talk too much. |

I am sure your bank statements are okay too?- that mean black lady denied me too first time when I was 100% sure everything was right, when I reapplied I was even thinking they will focus on the denial and ask me stupid questions about it, they didn't even do as if I was denied before, Hiss ! all the best 3 Likes |

Good morning NLERS. A big thank you to all the people that contributed a lot of useful information on this thread. I learnt a lot and I was able to prepare better (special thank you to Phema!) My family applied for US visa together and we were all granted ( we have travel history to the UK for the past 10 yrs). In my application I stated that I was going for vacation and childbirth and also when I was interviewed (was obviously pregnant), but I saw I was given a B1/B2 visa like the rest of my family. Is that going to be a problem for me at the POE? Do I need to send an email notifying the embassy before I leave Nigeria for the US? I would really appreciate your help. Thank you 1 Like |

@hot mummy: Yeah i had the money for hospital bills and my stay with a little extra..my dear that lady body dey pepper am.Did any Naija boy break her heart?it seems to be her against the whole Naija...they will post her to Iraq as she does not like it here..The Oyinbos are way better and more objective than she is.Never heard them act like anyone was fighting with them, never talking tru speaker phones at applicants, always calm and ready to listen even to some korokoro white lies. They do the denial very nicely and calmly like well trained people. well...will reapply and make a little modifications here and there.Save up one more month, use a doctors appointment from NC,use my uncle as primary contact instead of using a rented accommodation somewhere else...maybe that will be the change in circumstances cos i cant think of anything out of place now really.this one na test of faith or what will i call it?its well... |

wondermum: Congrats to you and your family! Nope. You don't need to notify the embassy since you already stated you will be going for childbirth. |

I wish I had discovered this thread before applying for my US Visa and maybe I would not have been refused. But knowing all these I know now, I am raring to go. I read the entire 401 pages of the first part and all 149 pages of Part 2. Looking forward to sharing my testimony soon 11 Likes |

xyzabcuo: Hi Xyzabcuo, So sorry about the refusal. From my perspective, you did nothing wrong and I suggest you re-apply immediately. However I will let the vets in the house give professional advice. One question from me though, kindly permit me to ask, How did the VO know you were refused a UK visa in the past? 1 Like |

I ended up sending hard copies to my doctor when I couldn't find a fax machine. A colleague was travelling and I made copies of what I hospital gave me and packaged it for him to mail for me when he got to the US. hotmummy2015: |

@ LI: No Probs. The remember firstly the VO has your passport in her hands and she flips through..also a friend said there is a database that is shared among different embassies mostly US/UK/Schengen. so they have the data of applicants even before they come. Its not even a good idea to try telling any lies about your past travel history even if you were refused a UK/schengen visa on an expired passport you did not use for application.. I may be wrong but i stand to be corrected.. 4 Likes |

Actually, there s a stamp at d back inner page or so of ur passport wit UK in it....the colour (lik red) indicates d basis on which u were denied...pls chk. xyzabcuo: 2 Likes |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by xyzabcuo: 12:46pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
@akindolz:of course there's usually a stamp on the passport after a UK visa is not given..that is why if the VO flips through she can see it.same thing we are saying...the other part of embassies sharing a global database ,i'm not so sure-someone said not me (just sharing).experts can say if its true or not 1 Like |

Please I need advise o. I'm presently in the U.S. now. When I applied for my medical visa, I stated that I'll be using Maricopa hospital in Arizona but I'm now in Maryland. My husband wants to be here for the birth of our baby by the end of the month. He went for the interview this morning and was denied based on the fact that he told them I'm in Maryland. The agent that interviewed him said I told them I was going to Arizona not Maryland. He also said that my husband should have come with a copy of my passport page. I want him to reapply again immediately. Please any suggestions on what to do? Thanks |

LI: When UK denies you, they stamp the refusal at the back of your passport, unlike US that returns the passport to you |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by nefertitiram: 1:40pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
sucre26: Hubby should have gone with your passport biodata page, visa page and the entry stamp in your passport. He should reapply with those documents. Meanwhile, isn't it possible you are going to birth in Phoenix and chilling in Maryland to save on cost? He can always come up with a good defence about that. 2 Likes |

[quote author=Amother4life post=34812138] Everyone who enters an airport, including babies, needs to show some form of ID, but while a government-issued photo ID is required of adults, often a birth certificate will do just fine for infants and children when traveling domestically. For a journey outside the country, however, each passenger, regardless of age, must possess a valid passport. Make sure your infant has the proper ID to board the plane before you reach the airport, or your trip might be cut drastically short. Like I earlier mentioned your U.S citizen baby requires a US passport to Are you saying the US baby cannot use naija passport to travel outside the US |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by xyzabcuo: 3:16pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
No they don't ask if you have been refused any other countrys visa except US..wetin concern them with Uk or EU?lol Its just the refusal stamp they see most logically that gives them a clue which on its own is not a bad thing except say you be terrorist.. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Nobody: 3:17pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
TeeteeK:they don't ask in ds160 if you have been refused other country's visa, they only asked if you have been refused a US visa. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Nobody: 3:23pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
xyzabcuo:exactly, sometimes they don't even ask when they see a refusal stamp, it all depends on the VO |
