Really ? I guess we would just have to wait and see. Although i wery much suspect that what will happen is that the financial institutions will devolve their structure to better take advantage of the new realities / opportunities when the relocation begins.
I also suspect that the north will seek a way to compel the banks to relocate to the FCT using the CBN in some funny new policy. They wouldn't have to move everything , just the top management and decision making capacity to Abuja, require a few changes to the incorporation structure where does that put the VAT you are holding on to ?
It's a wonderful country we live in, anything can and does happen which is why i laugh when you cite examples of financial centers in the US,UK or wherever.

Have you forgotten OBJ and CBN made a policy to force bank HQs to Abuja. What happened?

They opened "fanciful" corporate offices and were doing everything from Lagos, before they realised that it can't work. Same will happen again. No state has the pull of Lagos and no country or city in West Africa has the same pull.

How can Kano not generate enough IGR to power itself amazes me.
Were each citizen to be captured in the tax network Kano shouldn't go broke.
Aside, if all the manufacturing concerns pay too, more than enough will accrue to the State government.
Something is wrong with these figures and government
I can't believe kano is not on that list.

Oooh, I see...
Have you also forgot that Lagos state is the most indebted state in Nigeria?

Have you forgot too that Lagos State has capability to repay its outstanding indebtedness more than any other states in Nigeria?

Intelligent people don't use abusive words!

Dangote borrows to finance businesses that will generate returns which will enable him pay back easily.

your Lagos state governor borrows with the hope to use tax payers money to pay back... it is a pity that our future children will have to pay for what they no nothing about!

SMH for you and your government.

Yearly.

To get the average monthly figure per state, divide by 12.
