waleakins:Yes your application will be treated based on it's merit and you providing all the relevant documents to show and prove you meet those conditions. A lot of peeps with no prior travel history on brand spanking new passports have got TRV's before you and with your ducks in a row and huge dose of the almighty's favour you will get your TRV as well. 3 Likes |

omooba2015:CIC requires you to show a minimum of CAD$10,000 for living expenses and maintenance for 12 month period ($833.33 per month) in other words na chop money and house rent be this oooo, in addition to your Tuition Fees. However, you should note that the CAD$10,000 does not include other expenses like for instance flight ticket to Canada and back from Canada as well as other contigencies. So you can use the space for Others on the form to state a sum covering flight tickets and show you will be receiving well above the minimum CAD$833.33 per month and please ooo whatever you state there make sure the SOA you are presenting covers all the big big money you have mentioned oo in Tuition, Living Expenses and Others. For Funds available for Stay in the form the sum can be total of the three above or closing balance of the sponsor's account depending on the contents of the sponsor's letter. Bros stating you are sponsoring your self with 4M na redflag oo for i am not coming back to naija, self sponsor hard to convince die, e no easy to prove home tie but some have made it through in previous thread. You can skim through the thread and read how dem package their application 1 Like |

teesboy:Thanks u, so like how much you think,I can put in others expenses..... And i want to know others that been granting there visa how they tackle those area. Thanks |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by teesboy: 1:03pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
omooba2015:Sorry to hear about your previous delay and if the reasons were only insufficient funds what it implies is that CIC is quite satisfied with your home ties n confident you will return to naija after your program. While we all wish we had sum1 with huge bank balance to support our application, personal circumstances differ from 1 person to anoda just as CIC treats each application according to evidence n documents presented. My advise and you are under no obligation to take it is, 1. Make your present co-sponsor the main sponsor and see if you can get additional documents showing assets to show financial ability. 2. E no easy sha I know but try to get an additional sponsor as co-sponsor (Family, Uncle, Aunt, Inlaw) with a good bank balance and steady income and ensure you show the relationship with these individuals and why they are supporting your application in your SOP and they in turn state in their sponsor letters why they are supporting you. Then add your personal bank statement as well as the usual employment letters, payslips etc but don't state you are sponsoring any part of your studies as a self sponsor otherwise a spotlight will now be on your personal income, assets etc to know if you can sustain that part you are self sponsoring. It is always better to allow your sponsor and co-sponsor do the heavy lift where feasible whilst your own readily available 4M comes in as an added bonus as it will always be available for you to use as sole signatory. Tuition - $16600 Living expenses - $10000 Others - $6K - 7K should be enough Available funds for Stay = $33600 (covered by sponsors) + your 4M just ensure available funds from your sponsor/and co-sponsor cover the $33600 and if possible stated in the sponsorship letter. Remember MBA if i'm correct in Canada lasts more than 12 months so your 4M goes a long way to cover those extra months 2 Likes |

omooba2015:if you are sure you have a co sponsor of 5m, here's what you do with your 4m. Add it all up.....that's gonna be 9m(52, 941 cad), your tuition is 16, 600 + the mandatory 10, 000 cad. That means in all you need 26, 600 mandatory.....with my calculations that is 4.5m. This is where your co- sponsors soa comes handy.....5m(29, 491 CAD). So lets remember that the total amount u'v got is 52, 941 CAD(4m + 5m naira). So for your others you state 26, 341 CAD ( 52, 941- 26, 600 CAD). Then state in your fund available/ total 52, 941 CAD (if you don't understand you can ask more questions). That is the surest , smartest and the most honest way to tackle that in my own opinion. #Pls note that l made all conversions based on N170 to 1canadian dollar. Others can also give their various suggestions. 2 Likes 1 Share |

jessicajessa:Thanks @jessicajessa, with this good analysis, someone (Teeboy) just said I can put like 6-7k to others expenses, but you said I input the remain balance of 26,341 to others expenses. He also brought an idea of getting Sponsor(not self sponsor) with a new co sponsor..That means, the idea of me using myself as sponsor can't work than, I could remember I read it on this tread, someone that sponsor himself and get co-sponsor. I will send the link to the house to see. Thank all 1 Like |

omooba2015:yep, just went through and saw the self-sponsor markusens documents. Glad you took my advise and skimmed through the thread as i suggested. What you can do is go through his documents, noted the similarities and make a decision if you want to make your next application based on the similarities with his/her application or the options @jessicajessica and I suggested. Remember you alone gets to decide how you want to package your application. All we can do here is make useful suggestions which we sincerely hope leads to a successful TRV approval. The wish of everyone on this thread is to get a high percentage of approval from the CIC VOs. 100% approval from CIC Accra, Ghana make sense die. 2 Likes |

berexio1: Thanks dear. I will send u a message on watsapp soon. Application summary: Submission: 13 May(paper route) Biometric: same day Medical call: today Documents(personal): All cic documents Waec result, transcript, success letter from uni, Nysc cert, admission letter, fee receipt (paid half), work Id, employment letter, payslips (5months), letter of introduction from work, police report, SOA (1+million), Birth Certificate, SOP (3pages) and lastly offer of probationary appointment letter from DBS. note: this is my third application n each time I change my course of study(I was very scared abt dis) n again I work presently as a personal assistant which is way different from wat I did in my UG so this where the probationary employment letter from DBS (delta broadcasting service ) comes in cos I read broadcasting in school n am going for tv broadcasting too. sponsor doc(my mother): Soa (above 20m), treasury bill, Landed properties doc, business docs, int password, bank reference letter, tax clearance, rent receipt, motorised affidavit of support, birth certificate, sponsorship letter, siblings birth certs, dad's driver's license, consent letter from dad. PS: although am 20+ I still went ahead with the consent letter cos my mom n I have different surname so the consent letter was just to show dat my dad who have same name with me is aware of my plans to travel n he is in support even thou he is not the sponsor. Sorry guys for the long post. Thanks. 3 Likes |

@omooba2015 In addition to what others have said, it is important to calculate the 'funds available for stay' and soa such that there is money left after all your bills are paid. For example, if your estimate of total expense (tuition, accommodation, feeding etc) in naira is 5M, your sponsor must have at least 2-3M (eg 7-8M) above that. Unless, the balance is in an account made available exclusively to you. This is because the VO takes into account that aside from sponsoring you, your sponsor also has to meet his or her family's needs. The VO thinks that no matter how much they love you, they will not empty their account for you (especially if your sponsor is not your dad or mum) (them no be naija) It makes sense therefore that the sponsor's account balance be huge OR be able to show that a significantly he/she has a relatively LARGE steady (read regular i.e. monthly/quarterly) income. If tuition has been fully/partially paid, then a lower soa might be acceptable because a huge part of the expenses has already been covered. This could be the reason why people with account balances that appear to cover their total expenses still get delayed on account of insufficient funds. #mytwocents 7 Likes |
