Oya...my own question:

How can we explain the structure and layout of "The Hanging Gardens of Babylon" considering the technology available at the time?

We're the plants actually 'hanging'? How did they irrigate the whole complex? Was it actual shrubs or lesser plants (like algae and spirogyra cool)

Ministerial nomination for the best answer!!! grin grin grin

Please people, I NEED A LAY MAN'S DEFINITION OF THE WHAT "THE SINGULARITY" MEAN.

In the centre of a black hole is a gravitational singularity, a one-dimensional point which contains infinite mass in an infinitely small space, where gravity become infinite and space-time curves infinitely, and where the laws of physics as we know them cease to operate.

The laws of physics don't apply there. Laws like time. No distance.

Hope you understand this.

exactly. Could you tell me the amount of power a solar cell that is 1 by 1 centimetres generates?

again there is no straight answer to this question..it depends on the amount of sunlight the solar cells converts. On a large scale taking about panels not cells one would expect about 200watts of power again u ve to check with the specification of the panel. One thing u shld ve in mind that there will be loss of energy due to overvoltage ....energy loss as heat etc.in that case the amount of energy that a cell or panel generates depends on the amount of sunlight it is exposed to and the efficiency of the system (no sys is 100% efficient)...

NB: power density is the amount of power stored per unit volume and since volume is L3 cm3 the larger the dimension of the cell the higher the power density but I also think there will be a a threshold for this when the law of marginal utility may set in ie a point where an increase in dimension may lead to negative effect.I also think there is an optimum dimension. ..I am no expert in this field just giving my 2cents.

But you forget, science originated from the black man nah. For example, we are the first to start learning simultaneous equations, quadratic equations, and geometric formulas. In we are the ones the invented Pythagoras theorem. wink

We can still take back out glory. Don't you think? smiley

I think science is too factual. It's empirical, based on evidence and requires a certain intellectual depth. It tasks the mind a lot more. It is also not as interesting or entertaining like calling GEJ names and making wild speculations.

Many scientists may not even be registered here, but read some stuff and leave.
Our economic system is not encouraging too. If engineers, biochemists, pharmacists, mathematicians have to look for banking jobs anyway, why bother?

The binary system used in computing today has long been used by Ifa priests for divination, for millennia, some of the oldest wooden mathematical instruments possibly used in calculating the calendar, menstrual cycle or both, were discovered in central Africa. The ancient pyramid builders of Nubia, mostly likely the origins of the Luxor/Giza pyramids definitely used mathematical knowledge in doing so.

When you go out there you'll be humbled. You'll see the works as it is. Race, religion, borders they don't really matter. We see they are man made.

There is this write up I saw some months ago. Its changed me.:

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.

Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.

It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. And all encyclopedias are vague. wink
Sorry for the long absence. I had a battery problem.
So, you wanna go deep? Okay! grin let's do this. Mutation first.

Let see . . . mutation . . . well, smiley

Imagine yourself. You ask, what am I? What are you made of? Well, you are a complex construction. An organism. Now, you are made up of systems. Such as the muscular system or the digestive . . . which are in turn made up of organs . . . like the kidney, or the liver, which are ij turn, made of tissue. Cartilage for instance, or blood. And even these are made of cells. Which, are the smallest units of life. Beyond the cell, there is no life. But to understand mutation, we must go beyond. So, stay with me. grin

In these cells, we have organelles. Like the golgi bodies . . . mitochondria . . . and most importantly, the nucleus. Which contain . . . . lolz, chromosomes. Beyond the chromosomes, what we have is just a set of instructions . . . which we will need! So, let's go! We have, in the very chromosomes, genes! And these genes are made up DNA!

Bros, abeg just a little more patience. We are almost there. DNA is made up of four major bases. Which I will not mention here . . . now, you see, this DNA, can copy itself. I mean, literally copy itself and form identical copies of itself . . . . or not . . . . wink
Remember what I said above about typos? You see, when a DNA tries to copy itself, it sometimes makes mistakes. These mistakes are called mutations.

Sorry, battery low again! cheesy
I will come back to finish. Watch out for part two. jaysniggs, thanks a lot. smiley

Be right back! wink
Mutations are caused by radiation.
Everyone of these guys in the electromagnetic spectrum radio wave (common carrier: mobile phones), infra red( not sure if this guy causes mutation though), visible light( consisting of the colours of rainbow which is the colour of white light), ultraviolet ( common carrier: the sun), xray (common carrier: xray for hospitals. Dats y it isn't good to take many xray scans), gamma ray (this bastard killed the couple that discovered it: the curry couple)

Mutations can result in physical disabilities like being born without legs, having more or less fingers etc.
Basically, any part on ur parent's DNA that didn't replicate a nose, leg, eye , etc parts, won't appear in you when you are born.
How to avoid mutation: pray to God.
Cause to can't avoid sun, or stop using phone etc of the aforementioned above(rays).

Gravity distorts a lot of things. It distorts time, space(I.e distance and it gets worse the closer you are to it. E.g if you zoom past a black hole you might use about 70 years but to your own time its like an hour. Because when you get home all your kids are grandparents and you still look like you left. You see that kind of distortion? If you go into the black hole time and space(distance) will scatter. There will be nothing. No light no energy no physical laws. Everything will be infinitely nothing.

I should have your buccal cavity split with my fist in your mouth for uttering such blaspheme. The word science comes from the Latin word scientia which is derived from the word scire which means "to know".

Knowledge of Self, Nature, the people etc.

menesheh:
You are in the wrong place.

Science is never for us, it is for Whiteman.

Whenever a Nigerian see a technology he/she feels is so awesome and complex, he will be like
waw oyibo too much, oyibo na our second God.

We don't know that to discover things is more easier than we thought it is.

A thread for science is statistically insignificant due lack of patronage and interest.

Your idea are supported despite am not a science student. But i love science pretty crazy
