I have a theory of the concept behind the hanging gardens.

Well, after studying the pictures of the gardens, I find nothing impossible about them.
What if instead of the elaborate engineering you guys are suggesting, what if they simply employed human labour? As in, lots of servants to water the gardens? That seems like a simple solution.
Do you mind getting us the picture impression of the hanging gardens?

Trust me...or ask any engineer...channelling those grooves are nowhere near as hard as building the pyramids themselves...piece of cake.

The water wheel is basically a contraption to harness hydropower...let's say a very basic for of a hydro turbine...but with the right add-ons, you can channel that water anywhere you want. The water wheel doesn't spray the water...it can direct the flow of water...

...and with a bit of pressure properly applied...anywhere could be 'upwards'

I used to believe that we are much more advanced scientifically now in terms of methods and ideas now, the scientists back then would have been pretty good then... grin and i am Engineer...

Hello. smiley

Another way, yet, of looking at this is that cancer cells, due to genetic diversity, cannot be classified because each clone has a different genetic make up. It is not like malaria, in which, all the plasmodium have the same Genetic make up and can be finished off with a single drug. A cancer cell is essentially brand new and varies across each individual.

Dis should b the main point. Cancer cells re likely to have different genetic make up in different individuals. This genetic faults of cancer cells change with time making it uncontrollable by gene targeted drugs

Of course the science then are way more advanced than we think or make them out to be but just more crude than ours, we just developed more on what they know. .

E.g: The wheel, they invented the wheel for carts and chariots, we still use wheels today, tyres...

telescope, we also still use telescopes today of which one of the most remarkable the Hubble telescope .

so you see, its basically the same thing. . The scientific concept is the same just the portrayal differs

Mathematics, strictly speaking is not Science. Mathematics is actuality one of the "subjects" that shows that the so-called 3 great branches of (man's) Knowledge ie Science, Social Science and Arts, are actually basically the same thing/have same source. The only difference between them been the DEGREE OF MEASUREMENTS of observable phenomena associated with these "branches" ie Precision in Measurement. Science been the most Precise (that is why Science places such emphasis on minute measurements and instrumentation as well as axioms) and Arts been the least Precise.

Mathematics on the other hand is basically LANGUAGE. Nature's Language. The Language of knowledge ie of ALL the "branches" of Knowledge - Science, Social Science and Arts. Thats why Mathematics can be useful to express phenomena in all these 3 "branches" .

The reason why it seems Mathematics is a pure Science is cos by its nature it's the measurements therein are as precise as Science. But it isn't an exclusive property of Science.

By d way, from the aforementioned it is clear that am a big advocate of the "Unity of Knowledge" ie that all things Known and Unknown have ONE SOURCE and hence obey same FUNDAMENTAL rules/principles. All the plenty divisions of this Knowledge is only an attempt by man to understand phenomena.
I tell people that KNOWLEDGE is the utmost we all sought and can be achieved through Science, pseudoscience, and/or, Art, etc.....

I wouldn't say Science is the most precise as it depends on the intelligentsia of the brain seeking answers but Science is the most logically comprehensible branch of knowledge that is apparent to humankind in this present time........

Another branch of knowledge bigger than Science may occur in Million years to come or before then that will explain phenomenon more better than Science...... .... then Science shall phase out same way as Arts.

Since MATHEMATICS is the science of numbers , everything in the cosmos is denoted by one sign or the other at the primary basis or basic level of existence.

[b] Bro i beg to differ. . . Science entails study. . so if any branch of study will occur in the future it still will be science, maybe just in an improved way. .

Just like the ancient science are in the form of improved knowledge in this generation. . Alchemy - Chemistry, astrology- astronomy...etc

So that knowledge in the near future surely still remains science only in a more improved way

Science does not equate Knowledge ..... this is where many Science students get it all wrong ...... Science is just a branch of knowledge i.e a means to knowledge........ Science is just a logical proven knowledge that is devoid of abracadabra even I read some certain axioms are still unexplainable till date with science ............ while with pseudoscience you can get to the root of such axioms but it may be beyond logical realm.

The world is evolving,Knowledge is evolving and keep getting evolved thus you never can decipher the new means to accurate and more precise understanding of phenomena in millions of years to come that will make mankind of those time to realise oooohhhhh Science tried but not definite .......... We of today should not be full of ourselves ....

Mankind of Million years to come may see us same way we are seeing Gorilla grin

Errr ever cross your mind you do not have enough data to make a very good scientific judgement?

All the proposed solutions y'all will come up with cannot be tested no?

that is not really what we are arguing about.
They are wondering how the ancient Babylonians managed to water and provide nutrients to them. Seeing as they grew on houses.

why is the universe so massive?

can we ever explore our galaxy in a thousand years time?

When will we start investing money and time into theories that make faster than light travel possible?

the talk of infinite universes is so mind boggling

is our own universe ever going to contract?

brb.......

This is 'purely' correct, and its the fact too.

I always try to have an open mind about everything, and when scientific facts contradict believe or the other way round, I always put to use the the law postulated by some QUALIFIED grin African Teacher/Lecturers know as 'Gba bee's ' (youruba language meaning take it like that cheesy) theory.
like u asked in your other post; 'why does rain fall' , I would accept the scientific facts and also accept the 'Belief'

hope you don't start seeing me as a nuisance because I believe grin
As far as I am concerned, Science and Religion do not conflict unless Religion tends to be subjective and people tend to hold tenaciously to what pastor/Alfa has been fed to them. ...... Science will make us understand our world and how to better relate with our environment while Religion is describing our environment with respect to the designer of such environment .....

The purpose of religion is to explain God/Deity/Supreme Being and not detail our environment to us while the purpose of Science is to logically explain our environment without attaching any cognizance to God but interrelationships of elements in the environment and so on.......

I personally use all knowledge I gathered or acquired to acknowledge the supreme designer behind KNOWLEDGE itself ..... Science makes one understand concept of God better but unfortunately it makes other believe in non existence of God.

Yes bro that is why i first referred to any explanation we would postulat as a hypothesis. . . we first need to personal study the hanging gardens then try and demonstrate the plausibility of our hypothesis maybe by a simulated version or something . . only then can we refer to it as a theory that may be near in explaining the garden. .

Exactly, actually you find that the world of finding out what happened can be very interesting. With data you try to deduce what happened, you avoid traps like “Correlation does not imply causation”

Anyways I will watch from the sidelines as you guys talk of esoteric stuff.

I am looking for a street way to explain to a kid why our DSTV satellites face the same direction even though the earth is spinning. He asked uncle is it that the DSTV stations are in heaven grin grin grin

lol,

The universe is not massive. It is you and I that are small. wink

We can explore our galaxy as soon as we break the light speed barrier. This may be in a thousand years, or less, or more.

We are already investing.

Yes, it is even said that it takes a certain level of IQ to understand it.

Yes, it might. This speculative phenomena is called the big crunch.
