Please my friend is applying to centennial... When is she supposed to pay the school fees? Is it after she gets the visa? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by teesboy: 12:23am On Jun 22, 2015 |
Darteyyyy:Centennial College usually requires a minimum tuition deposit of $2500 before sending the Letter of Acceptance to you but you can pay your tuition in full if you want to before applying for your Study permit or when you get to Canada. |

just finished my masters(in biochemistry) here in Nigeria but wish to run my PhD( in Biotechnology/Genetics/Bioinformatics/Molecular Toxicology or any other related option) in Canada, please I need some information as regards to my wish. Getting a scholarship seems difficult by the requirements I have seen so far (some require a distinction 70% and above (which is hardly obtainable here in Nigeria )from ur masters programme but I made a PhD grade,60-69%) and self sponsorship seems very expensive at the same time( but trying to give it a shot). Please, can I get a meaningful job while doing my PhD( it will run for four years) considering the fact that the bills are very much on the high side. I can work myself through thick and thin here in Naija by God's to raise the first year fees, however I am afraid on how I might possible survive subsequent years. without a strong financial backing, do I stand a chance of getting a student visa? Even if I get it, Is it legal to work with student visa? what are the other possible options that can make me realize my dreams? please I need suggestions and advice..God bless |

bigerboy200:....If you're coming for a Phd program, most schools in Canada grants funding to Phd students for the duration of 4yrs only on a condition of the student meeting acceptable level of performance during course of study....Once you get the admission, the funding kicks in....You can only work part time as a student for 20hrs/week...you can use that to knock off some bills like buy me beer ...I believe the funding package comes with accommodation as well so you're only left with Minor bills to pay.....You should think of surviving after 4yrs if your funding expires....Although Permanent Resident go don show before then cuz as a Phd student, you can apply for PR without Job offer which then makes you pay less fees for subsequent yrs.....Check with the school you're applying to.... 2 Likes |

hayqinsbFX: You guys would have made amendments to the CAC7 and include your name in the board of directors... You can do that at anytime... If it was done prior to your 1st application... You for don dey smile with your TRV by now cos it would have taken care of all the reasons they outlined in your refusal. It raises eyebrows how the supposed heir to the company up to this point is not included in the board of directors... Does your dad own the company with some other peeps or its solely owned by him? |

Hello guys, I feel this might help someone... Tuition, board and other expenses should be made as low as possible within the range of 26-28k depending on your tuition fees. For instance, if your tuition fees is $14k per year, room and board which implies accommodation and feeding only can take $8400 @ d rate of $500 for rent and $200 for feeding per month and others can take about 3,500-4,000CAD....arriving at a total of $26,400. Cost of funds available for stay will then be a lil above the estimated expenses, in this case, say 28,000CAD. Making the estimated expenses very high in the range of 33-35k CAD puts undue pressure on the SOA and amount available for the applicant. Darefestus: what was the estimated expenses you put in your 1st application and what was the value of your scholarship? Just curious cos its still baffles me till date why someone with funding got refused... 4 Likes |

Quick question Nlanders, I am going for an UG program in comp science. On my Admission letter, My level of study states "University" while program is "University Transfer" meaning If I get done in the college, I would transfer to a University to complete the remaining two years and get a degree in Bsc. So my question is, Do you think I should email my Admission department to change the "My level of study" to "College Diploma 2 years, so as to avoid the "length of stay" issh, so when I am in Canny, I can decide to transfer to Uni for my Bsc or Continue the above mentioned condition. Thank you. |
