nonsense what is assistant senate presiden that has no influence or action just like ceremonia president i.e zik
That's what Saraki have done, relegating Tinubu to his home... We are not talking of village politices.
Like you said, deputy is figure head, yet Jagaban wants to die for losing same post. Mere Cømmissioner is an example.

Look around you, do you think the South East can do better than Ike Ekweremadu Do a critical analysis of what his position should do in Life of people in his region. This Ike Ekweremadu and David Mark should have same Fate ....Thrown out. Do a research of their wealth based on their yrs in Senate and when you arrive at the stupendous wealth amased, then you will have EUREKA moment that will change ur opinion.
This position he got is not as result of support from his constituency but midnight deal by same group that has kept you jobless, gave you opportunity to earn your Bachelor's degree in 7yrs, travel with comfort on your federal roads/death traps. In a civil society where people vote based on performance this guy will be long gone. Go to Enugu and see what your public fund has bought for his greedy estate/family then when you get home to your misery then you will understand the demand that this guy step down for any dedicated Nigerian from the South East with a record that shows committment to their constituents. What impact did his position have on SE last time in Senate ..... NONE .... scored F9 , so then why hesitate to call it what it is .....Failure in Leadership!!! The South East can do better

Wortles unemployed criminal s in UK claiming to be pan Igbo group. Some can not even afford to visit naija.

But what did Ekweremadu do for southeast in eight years as DSP? Instead he found an excuse to deny south east a sixth state under pressure from Kwankwaso who believes that the present political structure created by his brothers in the army must not be altered.

He did that and told every body that Kwankwaso is his great friend.

Ekweremadu has been representing only himself in the Senate.

Jayclinics:
A pan-Igbo group based in the United Kingdom, Concerned Diaspora Enugu West, has urged the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, to step down immediately.
The group said in a statement by its convener, Mr. Ignatius Ozoilo, that Ekweremadu had been the Deputy Senate President since 2007 but had failed to make a mark in the Senate.

The group also berated Ekweremadu for saying that his emergence as the Deputy Senate President despite being in the opposition would be beneficial to the people of the South-East.

The statement read, “We have been deeply worried about the outcome of the leadership contest in the Senate on June 9 in which Senator Ekweremadu, representing Enugu-West senatorial district, put himself forward for the post of the Deputy Senate President

“While we concede that the interest to become part of the leadership of the National Assembly is a legitimate aspiration, we are of the view that it is not a right political decision for Senator Ekweremadu to become and remain the Deputy Senate President of the 8th Assembly.

“Senator Ekweremadu held on as Deputy Senate President for eight years and did so as a member of the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party. He had ample opportunity to use that position to improve the political, economic and social prospects of the country but regrettably he failed to demonstrate any particular sense of legislative acumen for the benefit of his constituency in particular and Nigeria in general.”

The group said Ekweremadu should not have run for Deputy Senate President but should have toed the path of honour like Mr. Leo Ogor who refused the position of Deputy Speaker in the House of Representatives when he was offered the position.

The group said Ekweremadu’s emergence as the Deputy Senate President was a great disservice to Nigerians because the people of Nigeria wanted a change and Ekweremadu represents the old regime.

The group said there was nothing exciting about the South-East producing the Deputy Senate President because the zone was not given any special consideration from 1999 to 2007 when it produced five Senate Presidents.

Please next time, when you discredit someone, please suggest a replacement.
Meanwhile, Ekweremadu, if indeed you have not done anything, you better wake up and start doing something now. I'm watching you.

It is interesting the Igbo people of the South East are always against themselves. When the popsition of Senate President was given to them between 1999 and 2007 it was war and impeachment saga. Immediately the Ighos phased out of the scene the polity became stabilized and they are at their usual unhealthy rivalry against Ekweremadu again. Now, that Senator David Maart can no longer protect Ekweremadu as he did for 8 years from his hostile Igbo brothers, it is obvious that his days are numbered as Deputy Senate President of Nigeria. Igbo people are the most disunited tribe in Nigeria.

What is this yapping. Disunited but with one voice in 2015. While ekiti and Ondo were singing Soprano, Ogun and Osun playing Reggae during elections.

Ike Ekweremadu was elected deputy senate president in a lawful manner

Those APC supporters who want him out should impeach him

You can't ask the man to resign for no reason just because he is PDP

It just does not work like that.

Enugu Onitsha express way is in its worst state in history and an Ekweremadu is the deputy senate president. It is a shame.
