sosanova: When an educated person like PMB talks.you just listen and ask why...see no one is saying Nigeria does not have money.we have over $29b in our foreign reserve. This tax from NLNG is suppose to be going to the foreign reserve to beef it up and build confidence in the international community that Nigeria is still standing...There is a level you will reach in terms of the jp morgan acct your pairs will no longer do biz with you. Anyway since this is what the past govt have put Nigeria. It will.indeed take time for Nigerian to.bounce.back 4 Likes 1 Share |

The governors should be proactive and cut the size of their civil service by half Bankrupt Osun state was on the road to penury when Aregbe employed 10,000 in his O'YES nonsense. The chicken has come home to roost. When countries approach the IMF and they are given bitter medicine, they begin to winge and whine when told to cut cost and face reality. The states had better wake up and smell the coffee. The days of easy picking are over! |

Osun, Ogun and Ondo States should merge to form Sango State. Even if we bail out these states, in the near future, Niger Delta Oil and Gas will be depleted and reality will set in. Right now its vandalism, in the future it will be dry wells. We shall see. Cosmic is watching. |

danjumakolo:Thank you jare. I wonder what people are turning social media into. Why the abuse? Why would anyone call PMB a dullard? Dullards never make it to become Generals. Government is a going concern. In spite of the debts, government makes billions everyday. The tax office is never dry. Government have shares in many mega businesses, including NNLG, NNPC JVs etc. When PMB spoke about an empty treasury, he was referring to the huge debt the past governments (federal and states) have incurred. Unnecessary debt burdens make nonsense of your today's revenues, because you are only earning to repay debts. 2 Likes |

handsomeclouds:he should have factored in expected incomes like this LNG tax before going public to distort facts in order to curry sympathy with his usual blame game of the previous administration for the slow take off of his govt. If the governors knew about this money even b4 the meeting then its very wrong for the old man to claim we are broke. |

The federal government met an almost empty treasury. The money is not to be shared to do one thing or the other but to pay salaries of the long-suffering workers of Nigeria. 1 Like |

“Instead of NLNG paying $1.6 billion to the federal government, we requested that it be paid to the federation account so that it could be shared amongst the three tiers of government, so that we can also get money to do one or two things,” Abdulazeez Yari, governor of Zamfara state and chairman of the Nigerian governors forum, said at the end of a meeting with Buhari on Tuesday. Please what are the one or two things? Are they like: Sending 20% to your off shore account, get the latest car, do wedding for your daughters or to pay salary that you have collected allocation for previously. 1 Like |
