Cech, Arsenal's first signing of the summer, could face Chelsea as early as 2 August, when the two sides meet in the Community Shield at Wembley. The earlier we realised that Petr is now an opponent, the better for us |

I just saw Cech's letter now, this is a mature, sensible and emotional letter from an ICON, I still fail to understand why some people are bitter and want Cech to recognise mourinho personally, heck he thanked All managers he's worked with, is Mou a body guard?? Una sha like wahala too much, I'm so looking forward to Cech playing against us as early as August 2, Infact, I go gv am standing ovation sef. Cech's letter in full: "I thought this would never happen but it is time for me to say goodbye to Chelsea. The club I have lived every single minute for since joining in July 2004, the club in which I thought I'd hang my gloves and boots one day and finish my career. But life doesn't always turn out the way you think it will. "Since 2004 it has been an incredible journey with so many highs and not many lows. We have managed to win every single English trophy as well as the Europa League and the biggest of all - Champions League. Looking back at all the achievements, including our first-ever league double in 2010, back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006, and multiple EPL and FA Cup wins, I couldn't be more proud! As a team we made history together! "Last summer, things changed and I understood I was no longer the first-choice keeper but I felt it was not the right time for me to go. During the season it became clear that my situation would not improve and as I know I am not at the stage of my career when I want to be on the bench, I made my decision to move on and look for new challenges. "The limited playing time gave me the chacne to refesh and rest mentally as well as make me realise just how much I enjoy playing football at the highest level, because I missed it badly every game day I was not involved. I have the same commitment to football, the same motivation and the same hunger for success as I had at the beginning of my career and I love the challenges brought by the top-quality players you face while playing the Premier League - simply the best and the most challenging league in the world. "That's why I spoke to Mr Abramovich about me staying in the Premier League and I'd like to thank him from the bottom of my heart for his support in this matter. It means so much to me because without him Chelsea would not be where it is now. He deserves huge credit for what he has done for the club and for all of us. "I would like to personally thank everybody involved with Chelsea for their support - all the players, staff, managers and all the coaching staff I have had the pleasure of working with over the years. Without them it would have been impossible for us to have achieved such success. "But most important of all - a huge thank-you goes to all the Chelsea fans. I did everything for you and you gave me your love back. I'll never forget it. It will stay with me forever. We will meet again but this time I will be in the other goal - I hope you will remember our history and understand it is time for me to begin a new adventure. "I wish everybody at Chelsea all the best for the new season and for the future. Thank you for an incredible 11 years." 1 Like |

A40:We don't buy from our rivals because we play in a proper league, not a league where the best cf for last season is on the verge of joining almost-relegated Newcastle...... Is that world cup in Bayern's trophy cabinet?? if they had ur coach and jersey ,Messi would probably have given Boateng another deliverance session or suffer an embarrassing semifinal defeat as usual..... Don't discuss Hazard vs Neymar with me |

Stumbled on this on Bleacherreport.com, it's something worth debating on. Messi worth TWICE as much as Ronaldo. Like we didn't know already. Hazard number two, I can see why, he is to Chelsea what Messi is to Barcelona (Just not as good). But he can dribble, score, assist, the lot, and the dude doesn't have an ego to boot, he's there to do his job and loves to play the game, deservedly second. Take Messi or Hazard out of their clubs and the team will not be effective and lose a lot of quality. Take Ronaldo out of Madrid, and all they need to do to replace him is get someone that can finish. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Nobody: 9:19am On Jun 30, 2015 |
@jemo: Did 11 hazards play against PSG? I'll say this again, the only player who can perform at a top level despite having 5 men on him is Messi. Hazard is nowhere near Messi and he had atleast 5 PSG players on him every time he got the ball. He was fouled 9 times in the first leg alone, showing how much PSG feared him. No, I'm not saying it was a typical world class performance from hazard, no. It was below his standards but it's understandable. Again, does Neymar have 5 people on him 24/7? No. Defenses are more focused on Messi and Suarez for obvious reasons. Neymar does have a great international record but Brazil is built around him. It basically plays for Neymar. The Belgian manager has woefully mistreated hazard and actually prefers Fellaini to hazard. When Hazard is actually treated like the world class player he is, he'll truly shine. BTW, if you take out Neymar's tap-ins/late minute goals against Bayern, Juve, Bilbao(copa final) et al, you'd see that he actualy had a very poor performance. That's what the OP said, Neymar scores a goal but disappears for the rest of the game. Hazard was compared to Zidane not in terms of talent, but in terms of play-style. He never scored 10 goals and got 10 assists in the same season but would you say he was average? This is precisely how CR7/ Leo have spoilt little kids. People now think goals are everything and the player who scores more goals is the better player. No, that is not the case. If Zidane played now, he'd be called inferior to the likes of Wilshere and Fernandinho because people can't appreciate actual football. Also, hazard has scored the first goal and the winner more times than Neymar, proving that his goals are usually important ones, unlike the goals which increase the score from 2-0 to 3-0. |

SailorXY: Not like he's going to defend, dictate the tempo of the game and also create the goals he'd score. Add Ronaldo to the current Manyoo mix and you lot would still finish trophyless |

Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by diggz: 10:00am On Jun 30, 2015 |
Pls we should refrain from disrespecting ronaldo on this thread bcuz he has done and achieved virtually everything as a soccer player. I hope people are not beginning to believe that cr7 is with no skill at all? At least he wasnt all about goal scoring while he was at ManU. Please lets give honour to whom honour is due. |

Lukaku is gud but wasnt given much chances by MOU while cech was given such chances.Chances which made him what he is today. MOU knw how gud he is dat y he didn't want him at arsenal. |

Ibime: Cech is a class act. Drogba's goal didn't win your CL. Cech did! Definitely one of the best of his generation. I cut cap When Ikedia achieves what Cech has been able to achieve, showing up in clutch moments and lifting his team in International competitions then will I compare him to the greats |

bigkesh:Lool cool story bro. Simple question I asked you when we won the treble which of our rivals did we weaken? You just dey kalolo since Proper league my arse! No wonder your representatives keep failing in International tournaments. The improper league is about to overtake you in UEFA coefficients and you are here chatting megedefegede Its as good as being in Bayern's cabinet with 7 Bayern players representing and playing in the Finals. A feat your useless club will not achieve even by the year 3000 Messi has been undressed numerous times by the Boa-TANK even in the biggest game of football. Law of averages dictate that Messi was bound to have a breakthrough at some point Don't tell me what or what not to discuss with you, I dey my own jeje when you carry Hazard megedefegede come my side. jimmy4x:How many trophies did Ribery's goals and assists win us? Therein lies your answer Laurels is the name of the game. The similarities or not is not my concern. Tell your boy to produce in the Champions League. He will get the props when he starts doing so |

A40:The team as whole was good that's what gave bayern those trophies..Like i said earlier team win trophy, this is not roger federa vs rafal nadal...cr7 scored 61 goals this past season yet his team went trophy-less. Hazard n ribery play similar football. There is a big difference between winger/Left midfielder(LMF;hazard/ribery/messi) and striker/left wing forward(LWF; neymar/cr7/griezman).. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by raumdeuter: 2:50pm On Jun 30, 2015 |
jimmy4x: WHats in that post to respond to? Just writing so many words without any meaning WHen RIbery was 3rd Ballon D or. He helped his team win the treble while making 23 assists. Tell us which one is similar to Hazard there. Game similar? What kind of rubbish is that? Its like saying Cleverly's game is similar to Xavi. while their play might be similar, can their output be compared? |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Nobody: 2:51pm On Jun 30, 2015 |
A40:ok, i think I'm getting to understand you better, but you would agree with me that, it hasn't been easy for the best English teams AND all other teams to rival Barca, Madrid and Bayern for the UCL....these 3 teams are the top 3 with the world's best players and several quality stars.... I think y'all should cut Hazard some slack, it will be more easy for him to win it with these top 3 teams than any other team, let's be sincere na. Suarez, Isco, Bale, James, Rakitic and Modric were stars in their previous teams buh it never took then 2)years to register their names when they joined Barca and Madrid. I'd give you a list of at least 5 players who left Barca nd Madrid nd haven't won it since they left. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by raumdeuter: 2:52pm On Jun 30, 2015 |
diggz: So you sef dey see the level of brainlessness of Chelsea fans. Ronaldo has more skills than any player who has played in the EPL for the past 20yrs |
