favour0011: You're not required to discuss your housing arrangements during the application process. Why even bring it up?? You may just be complicating an otherwise simple application. I'm not sure what circumstances warrant this disclosure, but I would do my best to leave it out if I were you. I'm sorry if this is intrusive or besides the point. I actually do not have an answer to your question. |

favour0011:U and this ur question ehn..Make I try answer am bt no repititions please.. Okay, this is how it is..You don't want the VO to think you are dependent on ur siblings and will thereby rely on them unnecessarily for ur upkeep when they are not ur sponsors..So if they are then fine..Have them state that they will take care of ur living expenses..pls don't state that you will be living with them even if you plan to. Make sure they show monetarily(statement of account) Now thank me later. Happy new month! 2 Likes |

Whether you like it or not, they will know he or she is a US citizen. Remember there is a place some where in the application package where they ask if you are a US citizen or Permanent resident? So there is no hiding place. My advice, use anyone that suits you. But if I were you, I will use the US passport. Supermum: 2 Likes |

She does not need to do another medicals unless she is asked for a further test. Same thing happened to me- I did upfront Medicals and yet they still sent me the request for medical mail. All I did was call the hospital and the result was sent same day. Q-life is just making things difficult. These VOs are humans and they also make mistakes - At some point, my daughter's account was showing "Medical under review" even when she had not done medicals! But I used email to chase them and it was resolved immediately. Graceee: |

I dont agree with you. I got confirmation from the Lagos cic office through email that ALL Stduy visas (Paper or Online) are processed in ACCRA. I had earlier emailed them(Lagos VO), as the text i got after biometrics stated that my application has been forwarded to Visa office in Lagos, but they directed me to ACCRA VO, and there i got my issue resolved. Btw, just an addition, the 51 weeks processing time on cic website does not apply to us. If you notice, it says "Processing time by Visa office". So since it's ACCRA that processes all study visa, the maximum processing time is 8 weeks even if you apply from Lagos. Little wonder why no one's application has been delayed for more than 8 weeks (except for @Chrisviral whose case was unique ) DaRocha: |

Hello everyone, happy new month and congrats to forumites who have gotten their visa, medical request. To those waiting, may God grant you success. And to those of us looking for answers and organising our packages, may God lead us to the right direction. I am going through part 1 today and I noticed that most people collected their police certificate from Alagbon,Lagos. What if I don't or have never lived in lagos? Can't I collect it from the city or state that I have been residing for the past 6 years? On the CIC website,it says you have to get the clearance from the city where you have being residing. Please wise nairalanders, shed more light on these! Thanks 2 Likes |

kennykentipsy: Niagara fall international airport is the closest airport with IAN is the Airport code..... Travelstart and AY travels and tours can give you cheapest flights to that your destination. Congrat once again |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by mevisbleek: 3:37pm On Jul 01, 2015 |
kennykentipsy: 1) maybe you should contact your travel agent 2) you will stop at yyz ( Toronto international airport) . 3) for sure you gonna come with some fund. If probed further tell the border agent that u've got some cash in ur bank card. I don't think u will be asked lots of questions regarding this. 4) why don't you start looking for accommodation on kijiji, craigslist etc. Before I left naija I got accommodation by googling If you looking for cheaper way to travel, do you have usa visa? If yes, you can stop at newyork then enter megabus from newyork to Niagara canada for like $30. If you don't have yankee visa then do the yyz stop. Guess yyz is like 350-400k at the moment. Have fun bro |

DaRocha:I am sure your post was made out of a genuine desire to inform others, however i will politely disagree with you as the only way to fastrack your study permit application is by undertaking an upfront medical and attaching the e-medical document before submitting your application and yes all study permit application is processed in ghana (paper or online submission) |

airhunde:Just get yourself cool, no rush, make your Available Balance strong and let it cover the cost of tuitions and Accommodation and others expenses stated by CIC. May sure your Sponsor still have extra money in the Account, unless if you are only dependant. Pray and fast. Good luck!!! 1 Like |

folabisi07:You have to show atleast #5m for ur financial standing to be right. I believe u can do that via getting a sponsorsor to show a minimum of that sum..If #1.5m is what u will end up having when u get down to canny, then u av to work alongside schooling and u cud school at ur pace usually 1-2 years for masters. I believe with hardwork, u can get the remainder.. Cheers! |

berexio1: My dear friend don't make people feel they can work and make their schools fees from working and schooling at the same time.. Its almost impossible,if one doesn't have enough, its best to gather enough money here before going there. And there's no such thing as schooling at ones pace o 3 Likes |
