He is suffering from elephantiasis,a disease usually common in India.It causes unusual swelling of the limbs and legs...According to reports on twitter,he came seeking for help all the way from the North ..

Elephantiasis Causes

Elephantiasis is a syndrome caused by infection with a nematode parasite called the filarial worm. The parasite is transmitted form human to human via the female mosquito and grows into an adult worm that lives in the lymphatic system of a human.

Eight filarial worms are known to affect humans and these can be divided according to the body area they affect, as follows:
•Subcutaneous filariasis is caused by infection with the parasites Onchocerca volvulus, Loa loa, and Mansonella streptocerca, which all occupy the fat layer of the skin.
•Lymphatic filariasis is caused by the parasites Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, and Brugia timori, which live in the lymphatic system.
•Another group of filarial worms including Mansonella ozzardi and Mansonella perstans occupy the serous cavity of the abdomen (serous cavity filariasis).

Yea, "Thank you Lord for making me complete while he made the boy incomplete. Thank you lord for giving me a normal hand while you gave that boy a giant hand. Thank you Lord for keeping only me alive in an accident while you let my whole family die." Say those sentences and tell me how it sounds to you honestly. Sometimes i wonder how on earth these religious people successfully spread their messages and people fall for their scam.

That is what mosquitoes culex spp can transmit. Elephantiasis or lymphatic filariasis caused by Wuchereria branchrofti . A simple deworming would have saved him of this aliment. I pray that you get the help he needs.

I feel for him,but i have a problem with some of these beggers.
One day i met a little girl with tumor and was carried about begging,i made a call to one organization i know that assist such people in medical solution,they accepted to see the girl and know the extent of her health condition.I later walked up to the guy pushing the wheelchair and luckily he understands English.I told him that i know people who are ready to help this girl get out of her situation and will have to see her people or whoever is related to her,so that i can talk with them.

Do you know what the guy told me? NO,that the girl is making money through begging and she is putting food for her people while remitting to the owner of the wheelchair....i was weak inside.

Now to this guy,is he begging because there is not help for his condition? or is it a case of this girl i mentioned.
Severally i have gone out of my way to extend a hand of charity and communicating with people i know who help vulnerable people on the streets....i realized that some of them dont want to be helped..they feel comfortable making money by begging for alms.

I have to commend you for this great gesture and I implore you to keep it up. However, if you still have a way to contact those non-profit-making organizations, kindly let me know. I know a grown up daughter of a widow who need a little medical help: this has been consuming day-to-day little savings of the widow, and is still consuming her penury up till date.

I never said elephantiasis affects Northerners only but other opportunistic diseases are prevalent
there as well. (My thought though)

This is sad i was able to see this guy 2 years ago at ikeja during my holiday by mistake while we are on traffic towards ikeja general hospital i was shocked but manage to give him some few money in fact i was not happy 2truout that day becoz this poor guy his beggin for money close to ikeja hospital and nothing can be done for him by our so call rich people that ply this road everyday, GOD DEEEY OOO
