Very interesting thread. I must say, I've learnt more about myself from participating here than anything else. I've learnt that even if I may know some things theoretically I will still not practice my knowledge in my conduct. I have learnt that one should not challenge another persons core belief systems and expect to be left unscathed by the most venomous vitriol and name calling. Luckily it is only name calling cos we are online. I'm sure if this were a face to face forum some of us would be murdered by now. I kinda knew a lot of this before but its different when you see it manifest before your eyes. I have learnt that the human mind is an amazing wonderful creative instrument. I used to think I was creative, but when I see the way some people make up doctrines and keep reinventing them I am totally awed. I learnt that I have such an extreme lovehate feelings for Nigeria and nigerians. I think we are the smartest and the dumbest people on the entire planet. 14 Likes 5 Shares |

malvisguy212: Are you calling me a liar, malvisguy212 ? Unlike Christians, Atheists don't need social validation , that's why we are few, one in a million in a religion-infested place like Nigeria. I have said before that it not choice that a person just makes. No one religious person can ever be converted into an atheist. Atheism is not a decision, but is usually a gradual realization that comes upon people with certain character straights. What I said about my inlaw was true, and there are many other stories similar that I could tell. But it is not necessary. I also never said that he became an atheist. I simply said that he said goodbye to religion. And it simply implied that he, just like millions of Christians today, had been on the fence, living with deep doubts about the things that he been forced-fed to believe from childhood. What apparently held him back was FEAR. I could not have said anything of great importance to convince a diehard Christian to abandon his religion. " A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still " The debate he had with me apparently opened his eyes to the fact a human had the freedom to question religious beliefs, .. and this is what he did. He became bold enough to question his beliefs. The first thing said he said to me , something I found funny, was that he was going to stop praying for a few months, and thereafter measure the quality of his life and his mind. The fact, attested by new NL atheists, is that many many people live in doubts about their beliefs, but also live with a deep sense of foreboding about questioning such beliefs. Courage is what it takes to be an atheists, especially in a place like Nigeria. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

before I found out the truth about God. damn it wasn't really easy.I became an atheist then went back to xtianjty, became an atheist again ,went back to xtian I did that over 10 times then I began asking myself serious questions at the a point I wanted to commit suicide, then bannggg the answer I have been searching for came to me.and the answer has been here all these while but I have been denying it.we all are gods Co's we where created like then but the while problems started when some gods didn't like us because they don't want us to be like them.the truth will be hard to accept but to be honest we all are gods Co's we are created in his image. read my story here www.nairaland.com/2338294/must-read-why-how-became |

Religious section: The home of some of the most self-righteous hypocritical heretics you will find in the internet. Where bigotry overshadows common sense, and where it'd be easier to talk to a wood than to have a rational/educative conversation with people of other faith. Where the closet Atheist, Agnosist, and all other -ist come to find justification for their faith, albeit in a provocative kind of way . Where the Suicidal Alfa will wish death on anyone who bothers to question his faith in God. List goes on and on.. 2 Likes |

Please guys and girls, keep the testimonies coming. Our women no wan talk, make una contribute. PastorAIO, I see you, thanks for the contribution. You are an enigma to me actually, I don't know what to classify you. More on what I learned. I enjoyed Baba Deep's many posts on the forum. Deism always seemed respectable to me, it maintained a belief in God and wasn't as vulnerable to criticism as religions are, and Deep Sight furthered my respect for the stance. Honorable mentions: MyJoe and Jenwetemi. Logicboy01 and Mudley313 qualify as the dumbest atheists I've met. nferyn, harakiri and Purist are smart and articulate, though harakiri can be rash. thehomer and plaetton are classic examples of people who come of as smart, think they are smart but aren't. Hate or love OLAADEGBU the guy has been a steadfast and consistent Christian. MrAnony and Enigma are smart debaters. KingEbuka'sBlog and co, una dey try The problem is that the Religion board really isn't as stimulating as it was when I first came. |

A lot. This is where you'll see that there's another dimension to what they call higher and lower animals. This is where logic plays a better role in arguments and I've never seen a group of people who seem to be feeding on logic - I mean the atheists, the pagans and the satanists. I've always been asking questions and my encounter with this section have made me asked more. By asking more questions have come to some personal realizations. Truly, I owe my present disposition to this section. I'm proudly a deist, sometimes agnostic, but I know I'm not going any further Shoutout to Plaetton, macof, Davien, Johnydon22, Logicboy, etc. Your crusade to bring emancipation to the brainwashed and the religiously oppressed is a great service to humanity. Gawd must be proud of you! 7 Likes 4 Shares |

I always say this. "if an Atheists claims that he used to be a christian",the truth is that he was never a christian. He never believed in the First place. I dont know what the english bible terms "believing" as but Believing in line with the Gospel is a total conviction of the heart. If truly you were convinced the Gospel you believed,You cannot become an atheist. For example someone like me, i have opened "deaf ears" once. I have interceeded for a sibling that was pronounced them and she came to life. I have ministered healings on more than 1 occasions and many more. I have given exact and precise "WORD OF KNOWLEDGE". there is a WITNESS on the inside that i truly received the Gospel. I am 100% convinced of that which i received and i will also commit the same thing to others. Those of you "Athiests" claiming to be Once christians, you were never christians, you never believed the Gospel. Cc theAthiest101,platteon and all of you Athiests. |

urheme:Seems we share almost the same ideology. Every being has a conscience right. When you constantly betray your conscience, your capacity to choose right in the face of wrong will keep declining until it reaches zero. At this point you can no longer feel the prick of conscience anytime you do the wrong. These type of people always cling to religion and tag themselves 'sinners' because the 'golden book' says everyone inherited sin from the first man and therefore no mortal is free of sin. By this, they can do anything and get away with it and later go pray for forgiveness believing they've automatically been forgiven since 'all are sinners'. That's why I say religion and any holy book is for those who lack conscience, cause your conscience is supposed to tell what's right or wrong and not otherwise. If people start taking responsibilities for their wrongdoing and apologize to the right person, the world would've been a better place. 6 Likes |

I feel so bad that I came around here when it has been infested with the atheists . I hardly enjoy any thread without it being about God's existence . This section , for me as a Christian , was supposed to be for challenging topics in my Religion to be addressed . You know , discussions about God , spiritual growth etc. Not what we are experiencing now . *Sigh* So for me , it has to be what I've learnt about certain people on this board . For God-believers : DeepSight is no 1 for me , there's davidylan(very smart and pragmatic) , malvinsguy212 (calm and precise), UyiIredia (smart debater ) Joshthefirst ( loves how he combines God and science) , prophetudeme (keep feeding them with the word) , Inesqor (sounds like a physicist), KoloOyinbo(intelligent , massive respect for him) , misogynist (loves going down history lane , but you don't really have to ) , sportsmaster (God bless and strengthen you ) The atheists : Johnydon22 (close brother , atheist extremist ) , kay17(smart , but always asking the wrong questions) ,frank317(I just dont take his posts seriously ) , MrPresident (challenged me once and got crushed through the use of the word), theAtheist101 (always starts with "who created God?" Idrismusty97 (He's very frustrated with his disbelief in God) , MizJanet (very obtuse ) , thehomer (smart but hypocritical) ,hahn (cool , raised by an atheist) , davien (smart , believes science has the answers ) ,dprogd(can be childish with his unbelief) , plaetton (ignorant ,arrogant and a bigot , am not sure how he lives with the public , resorts to insults when frustrated or not taken seriously) C'est fini 1 Like 1 Share |

sportsmaster: I totally agree wt you, it's obvious that they were all nomimal xtians. Xtians that probably had the letter but grossly lacking in the Spirit of it. As one cannot claim to be a xtian and yet fail to take God by his word. And this is what all these so called former xtian but now atheist actually did. They failed to take God by his word, but instead they decided to apply logic and human reasoning to explain and evaluate God's word, far, far, far, foul. Little wonder they failed abyssmaly in their xtian walk. And now funnily they actually think they have found the truth. In their own words they are now emancipated from religious brainwashing. A xtian that cannot walk by faith is obviously a carnal xtian; a xtian that is ruled and controled by his 5 senses( sense of taste, smell, sound, sight and touch or feeling). While on the other hand, a true xtian is someone that takes God by his word and that walks by faith. Hebrew 11 vs 6..but without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is(exist and is self existant),... Hebrew 11 vs 1..now faith is the substance of things hoped for, THE EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN. 2Cor 4 vs 18...while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. If they had actually walked by faith they would never have become atheist. Simply put they failed in their xtain walk, and as one rightly puts it, they are nothing more than a failed and fustruated soul in their xtian enterprise. An now they have become haters of God. May God have mercy on them. |

nynbrada:Amen Bro. But nothing like atheist. People who claim to be atheist are deceiving themselves, even they are ignorant that they belong to satan as long as they continue claiming to be atheists. Why did i said nothing like atheism: Before any child came into a womb, their is a discussion upon such a child. Where he or she belong; Roman 9:11-13kjv Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: 12 not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”[ a]13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated. Only praying for their soul....for recovery |
