Tinder: Send it to Nigeria university instead where you have someone that can get it on your behalf. Meanwhile, are you for this winter semester or next summer? if you will really want to move with this semester which I doubt, you have a lot of work in your hand. You will need to do many things simultaneously and that should start now. Shalom |

Tinder: If you don't have the 35k, you can make do with the student transcript if it's substantially cheaper. Good luck. |

ethical:Congrats too! Sorry, I didn't see your post. TUM portal and online application process is damn advanced. I had already gone for my interview last week with the other admission I had. I was on the portal and saw the score (80/100) and accepted the admission offer sharply. A big advantage with TUM is that you can enrol from Nigeria as long as you submit the enrollment documents, although the deadline is October 1st. In consequence, you can leave Nigeria anytime you deem appropriate, e no concern embassy. You can also follow lectures through your portal and register for courses while you are away! For the hostel applications, I have not looked into to. I will contact friends in the school on the way forward. ************************************************* As regards Olompa's issue, I have not had time to fully follow all the comments and advice and am a bit cautious about my own comments too. However, here is my suggestion, he should explain to the embassy that due to the bureaucratic bottlenecks his family encountered in the past, they have not been able to do the registration officially and didn't pursue further because its not illegal to run a business of that nature without registering (as long as you pay your taxes)*not sure** but because of this new obligations from them, he has consulted with members they have resolved to continue or start the registration all over again but it may take sometime. Do they feel this is okay? When they sense his honesty, I believe he would at least clear their doubt. Whatya think? My two cowries! 1 Like |

olompa: Here is my own advice. You have received lots of good advice so you have to sieve and select. 1. Nothing is impossible (if done the right way) 2. Do not lie. I know all of us are eager to check out, I know I am, but it's not worth lying about. At least not this obvious kind of lie. Lying, if you are discovered, will gett you banned, have a "record" or both which will make getting to Deutschland a little bit difficult. While with visa refusal you can always repackage and reapply. 3. What exactly did you say about the business? Did you say just family business or did you mention your parents as the owner? If just family business was said then the advice of using an uncle's document will be ok but then you might have to give evidence of a working relationship.....more lies. You will get your visa and probably a scholarship sef if you say the fact and articulate your reasons very well. For example you can even explain to the VO that part of why you are going sef is to make the business better. Your explanation: Your father, the owner of the business, (if that was your submission) has not seen any reason to register the business even after your advice. The business has lots of potential but has not been performing due to many reasons including the non registration and outdated ideas etc. You are therefore wanting to go to Deutschland to update and acquire the necessary knowledge so you can take over the business and run it in a modern way so it can achieve it's full potential. You have, immediately after receiving the mail from the embassy, show it to the business owner, your father, who has finally see reasons with you for the need to have the business registered. Business registration process have started in ernest and would be glad to submit evidence to that effect. You thank the embassy for their understanding and direction and bla bla bla. The koko of the story is that the business wasn't registered. You can't force it to be. You are not the owner and the final decision maker but just an adviser. You need the advance degree in Germany to able to make the business better. That is why we all learn. Get better knowledge to improve our lives and those around us. The worst thing that can happen is you get rejected but you will earn their respect for not lying and also still keep your integrity intact (bros nothing like an intact integrity anywhere in the world). Then you can reapply next time and if the question comes up again you present your registered document and thank the vo for educating you. One thing about the german embassy is that they welcome second chance without prejudice. And again about some saying the business has to be big. .... it's quite not necessary. In fact the business being small might be one of the reasons you need to get superior knowledge to improve it. The business potential is huge but due to the outdated way it's being ran. ......... Like I said nothing is impossible you just need to let the other party know that you know that the saying is actually true. God speed my friend. You can pm me. Was trying to make the long speech short. Can still share ideas with you if you want. 4 Likes |

olompa: This is a big lesson for all to learn from and adapt the lessons learnt to whatever scenarios we plan on putting forward at the consulate. I have read all the plenty suggestions given here and I have to agree that nothing is indeed impossible but I do have to tilt towards Goldhorse and Eke's advice. Coming clean as they have suggested seems to be the best path to take but also do your homework on the type of business and all that it entails so the VO doesn't catch you unawares with that too. Try and remember every single thing you told the VO about this business and build your response around this. I also think you should reply to their mail ASAP as delay might appear to them as you taking time to think your way out of the jam. I think it will be better not to start the registration process yet, follow Goldhorse's advice and explain the fact that you have discussed with whoever you said is the business owner (father or family uncle) and they would be willing to start the registration process if the VO would be willing to grant you the chance to submit the docs once done. At this point, I believe there can only be 3 outcomes: a. You get a rejection and be asked to reapply (I do think this is a very remote outcome if your response is well detailed and backed with evidences) b. You are asked to state the duration of the processing and to bring the docs once completed. c. You are granted Visa as it seems you did ok during the interview apart from this family business bit. So, indeed nothing is impossible. Just act fast as your time to respond will also count for or against you in this regard. Best wishes. My people, work et al no gree me ni ooo. I hail everyone. @Obiwann: we go relate on Saturday so no go party leave your phone ooo (you too like groove) |

Tinder: Bro..be careful with the advice given about using your student transcript oo.. In many schools, a student transcript is simply a ststement of result, and if UNILAG where I graduated from is anything to go by, the statement of result is an almost useless document: It only lists the course codes of the courses that you took without listing the course titles. This kinda document will be useless to the admissions committee because they will be unable to evaluate your performance. My advice is this: Apply for an official transcript from your school and have them send it to another university or polytechnic here in Nigeria where you know someone. Then let that person pick it up for you. That copy that you now have is what you should use for all your applications. Schools like TU Munich may even reject a transcript sent directly from your school because it contains no seal. My two cents. I hope it helps |

kennyoguns0509: We are saying the same thing except the last statement. Organisations, employers and so on can request for your transcripts from the school. As a matter of fact, that was how I got mine. But for the transcripts to be directed to your house is what I disagree with unless if Nigeria way is already involved. |

Well done, everyone! For those of you that have had interview for student visa this year, I have the following questions: 1. How long did it take between booking an appointment for the interview and the actual interview? 2. For those that already have the visa, did it take beyond the 6-8 weeks that was stipulated to obtain the visa, and were there any other requirements to fulfil apart from the interview and the documents you took for the interview? 3. I was told earlier this year by the office of the CG that the students' visa application will not start before July. When was the earliest interview date for this year? Thank you. |

hello house, I had my interview yesterday and it was superb! Similar questions to what my ogas have updated. I have these to add to what I was asked: I was interviewed by the white lady that signed the blocked acct form, when she asked what do you know about Germany? I mentioned 3 to 4 sentences n she stopped me and directly asking me the questions.. like, population, the countries bordering Germany, number of states ( I listed them alphabetically- she also asked for their capital) I listed up to the 7 with capital n she stopped me. who is the head of Germany? who is the president? who is the first president n chancellor of Germany? I gave her a bold smile n said ma'am I did not make my research up to that. She smiled back too and said okay! you want to study in FREIBERG? yea! what do you know about FREIBERG? I started by saying it means free mountain in German, and it is located in Saxony 31km from Dresden the capital. she stopped me and said she doubt what I am saying that is Freiberg really in Saxony (she pronounced it Sachsen). I said yea I'm sure. she replied and told me to give her a minute to confirm, she googled straight (I have a feeling she used wikipedia). when she saw it to be correct she nodded her head and said she never knew its in Saxony( I was feeling like a superstar with a lil smile on my face) she asked which district? (that was when I knew she is on Wikipedia) I mentioned mittelsachsen Who is the governor or president of Sachsen (not sure which of the two she used) ? I said do you mean the mayor? she said yeah.. at this point I paused n do ehmm Erwin something I said I can't pronounce the last name she said I should pronounce it any how. then I mentioned the name and back it up with the spelling Erwin Schramm (i was not sure if d name end with a d' or t') she first said noo am I sure? I said yeah n spelt the first five letters n said stop u are right with a smile, she wanted to know if I'm sure of wat I'm saying she continued n ask for population of Saxony n capital? I gave her Now my course, how many modules n CP? I said its not arranged semesterly from what I saw in my program that I only know 14 core modules n 13 electives, she said mention them, I mentioned the 14 core modules n she put them down on the PC I was about giving her the electives she said I should not worry? who is ur sponsor? what does he earn? his position? I answered all without stuttering she nodded in affirmation. please I will continue later... 8 Likes |

lmuhopeful: Gbam!!!!! Or better alternatively, he can look for an organisation or employer he is close to, to request for the transcript on his behalf. The letter must be in the company's letter headed paper, with stamp and signature of the manager or CEO as the case may be. 1 Like |

Continued... She looked up after typing what I told her and said what do you intend doing after your MSC in groundwater management? ( I had so many answers...) the first that came to my mind is; I want to continue in Germany to continue my studies PhD... she said why PhD? I said I want to be an expatriate in Geoscience as I aspire to be a lecturer (lecturer gini?4 my mind. lol) and Germany seem to be a good choice. she said okk n typed again.. how many semesters is the Phd ? I said 3, how many years? 6. Finally, she asked 'have you got a confirmation from Deutsch bank, I said yes since last Friday.. have you funded it? I said no, I intend doing that immediately after my interview. she said I should do that ASAP. I said I will. she took a breath and removed her head piece and said that's all take back you passport. I thanked her n took my leave...I left with a confirmation in my mind that it is settled...I'm working on funding the acct soon. wish me luck! for those going for interview, study the wikipedia of your school city in addition to what you get from your school and web. cheers 8 Likes |

in addition, Bremen is actually my choice but I used FREIBERG cos the Bremen offer have a condition stating that I should pay semester fee before August 15 (I will pay b4 den). as at last week I have made all research about FREIBERG I don't wanna mix it up with Bremen for interview. I intend calling my course coordinator in Bremen to ask how to go about the swap. I am sure I will get a good feedback as no one has been able to hit the nail on the head as how to change school city after visa approval. |

lmuhopeful:Be careful of the advice you give to people too. There is a clear different between Statement of Results and Student Copy Transcript. A Student Copy Transcript will suffice anywhere in the world except otherwise stated by the receiving institution. This is what i have been using, all i did was to certify it. 2 Likes |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by cahnellven: 2:35pm On Jul 09, 2015 |
lmuhopeful: I gave him the idea of a student transcript because it has been tested and trusted. You don't refute an idea just because it doesn't sound good to you . A student transcript is quite different from a statement of result, and unilag is not the benchmark for other universities in Nigeria . If your statement of result is useless, mine isn't. I applied to almost all the top schools in Germany including TUM, LMU, HEIDELBERG, GÖTTINGEN, TU DRESDEN, UNI BREMEN e.t.c with the student transcript and none complained about the said document. Again, if you can't afford the 35k for the said official transcript, make do with the student copy 1 Like |

cahnellven: Chill...and stop hating! I see no problem in stating my opinion on the issue: afterall my intention, just like yours, is to help guide the questioner. I also never said your statement of result was useless..haba!....Where do you see from my post that UNILAG is the benchmark for other schools? If you disagree with my opinion, you can just simply be polite about it. At least I have learned now from your post that I was wrong in thinking that the student copy of transcript will not be accepted. It is not as if I was insulting you or arguing with you after the facts were made clear. Learn a few etiquettes in disagreeing with others |
