It is amusing to watch you south africans overhype your universities; a relative of mine went to UNISA for a 2 year course programme a few years ago,and barely 10 months later,when he came to Nigeria on a visit,he was shuddering in disgust at the nearly abysmal level of intellectual standard and human capacity development.At the end of the day,on completing his programme,he was full of regret for ever patronizing the south african education system.He had to terminate further enrollment for an advance degree.
Though SA has beautiful and infrastructurally developed schools,but it certainly doesnt make your schools the best in the world.

He should have followed a mainstream diploma or degree programme instead of short double ups. Short courses only help when you already have a basic diploma or degree to complement your qualification so as to stand a better chance of getting a job. It doesn't matter where you study your short course from, even in America, a programme is not any better. Some of the programmes are such that you don't even have to write exams but only to submit portfolio of evidence (POEs).

He already acquired a diploma in Nigeria,before travelling to SA in hope of acquiring advanced theoretical knowledge and practice through an extended post graduate programme.
Ironically,he was offered that same 2 year programme by a Nigerian university and also the University of Barkeley,but he chose SA because he thought that SA educational system was superior.

That's wrong, the building is nothing compared to the quality and equipment you get in South African universities. What makes them superior is the research. SA universities are known to be the best in Medicine, Commerce, Accounting and Engineering in the world.
