I see someone trying to add a new lie to Buhari stuff. For the record, Buhari did not request for 50% of what GEJ earned but 50% of his own pay. GEJ on the other hand reduced his pay by 25% first in 2012, and further reduced the 75% he was earning by 30%. GEJ is indeed a pacesetter.

Lies!

What is PMB's current pay before reduction?

If the order to RMAFC were truly implemented, who 'reset' the laws which dictate what Buhari now earns and plans to reduce?

His salary reduction orders all included all political office holders, how many minister's and SA's salaries were reduced?

Did they protest? No? Why?

Please answer these questions.

The N1billion feeding was downwardly reviewed in the 2013, 2014 and 2015 budgets. In fact, it fell by more than 50%. As at today, Buhari is also a beneficiary of the 2015 budget.

Did He ask for it?

Don't worry, He would disappoint You on this with 2016 budget.

Common sense should tell that the order of GEJ was for the executive officers under GEJ and it doesn't replace the RMAFC specified remuneration. In fact, it was a directive that affected the individuals involved and not a law that aFfects thr positions. So it has nothing to do with GMB...

Ther other question is irrational.

Buhari can't be taken serious as long as he continues to deliberately turn his back on declaration of his asset. He's very good at playing to emotions of Nigerians.
But you expected us to take GEJ who said '' I don't give a Damn '', serious abi?...... I see your point.

GEJ never for once deceived Nigerians he's going to make a public declaration of his assets unlike a certain deceptive old general just to win people's votes. In that regard GEJ is more trust worthy.

Ther other question is irrational.

Which common sense? You claimed in your opening post that GEJ ordered the RMAFC to slash the salaries of political office holders, which you then claimed was immediately implemented.

Now you're again claiming RMAFC never replaced their specified full remuneration for the President.

Why the doublespeak and why are you dismissing questions probing your empty claims?

If he never directed the RMAFC, who did he issue his directives to and why was the RMAFC responding to the directives?

Jonathan never received a reduced salary because the RMAFC never reduced his salary, except you have proof to the contrary.

You're not getting out easy.

Give us proof that Jonathan orders were not for ALL political office holders because that is what Guardian Newspaper reported.

http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/03/austerity-30-per-cent-pay-slash-for-jonathan-ministers-others/

While you're at that, comprehend this report.

exemen:
For presiding over the affairs of Nigeria as its president in the last three years, you won’t believe how much President Goodluck Jonathan has pocketed as salary.

Vanguard reports that in the last three years President Goodluck Jonathan has pocketed N43.231 million as salary while he had in the last three years, paid N6.264 million as
tax to the country.

The years which the president earned the salary and paid the tax, according to document from the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, he released to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Vanguard also made it known that the document which was placed at the INEC office at Area 10, Abuja, showed that the president, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, received the said amount.

The document showed that the president’s salary stands at N14,410,290.48 per annum. The president also paid a total of N6,264,221.75 as tax in the years under review.

The income tax clearance certificate from the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Abuja, with Ref. No: ABJ/MDA/PAYE/09690150 and dated July 2, 2014, revealed that in the
years 2011, 2012 and 2013, he received a total of N43,230,871.44 as salary.

While he paid N1,242,670.21 as tax in 2011, President Jonathan paid N2,510,775.77 for 2012 and for 2013.

The document tagged:“To whom it may concern”, indicated that the president’s source of income was “employment”.

The clearance which was stamped and received in the Legal Services Department of INEC on December 18 2014
reads:

This is to certify that Dr. Jonathan, Ebele Goodluck (Presidency) has paid income tax assessment for the past three years.

The details of the president’s tax payment also showed that the president did not earn any other income besides his fixed income as president of the country in that period.

There were no indications of income from stocks or other businesses that the president could have had.

https://www.nairaland.com/2265900/president-jonathans-salary-revealed

That figure has been the same since 2009 and was never reduced. Period.

MODIFIED Now I don come.

Please answer me this, did Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan wake up one morning and cut his salary? Was it not the heighten tension that seized the country at that time when he removed subsidy from PMS on Jan 1 2012 that made him cut his salary 25%?.

So if Save Nigeria Group have not held the former President Jonathan by his balls would he have effected that pay cut? Just a reminder, if he was really 'the sacrificial president' as you put it, why on Earth, did he slash PHCN tariff by half, and removed 10 Naira from the price of PMS when he knew he was going to loose the 2015 presidential election?.

Dude, never compare a noble man with a gentleman, they are two different type of individual.

And to those who praise Nairaland's political prostitute, I must say that you all are narrow minded. Your inability to see things the way it truely is blinds you from seeing the truth.

Heykims please kindly attach and label this proof of Jonathan's unreduced salary to your first page post so nobody is further misled into thinking they were wrong about Jonathan's chronic greed and deception.

President Buhari is a pioneer and will be celebrated for this noble and unprecedented act, and we will hold him accountable to ensure the salary he receives is truly halved.

Be that as it may, i see better future ahead and if you dont acknowledge the efforts of PMB in his few days in office, then your rationalism is questionable.

APC should understand that campaign is over and a government can't go far with lies, propaganda and hypocrisy.

Another example is the most hyped N 5000 to be paid monthly to the poorest 25 mil Nigerian. In as much as it is difficult to determine the poorest Nigerians, it is also easy to account for the number that actually gets...else will divert the lot as usual...and rather volunteer to serve jail terms.

Obj lead government introduced poverty eradication programme, later renamed poverty alleviation...the same programme was capture under sure-p and continued during GEJ tenure.

Don't be deceived be guided, demand for genuine CHANGE.

Apart from the fact that Jonathan never received any reduced salary as he 'immediately ordered', can anyone tell us the new salary PMB will be earning considering 50% is to be cut out of the 'already reduced' salary?

Official salary N14.058 million - 30% = N9.84 million

N9.84 million - further 50% reduction = N4.92million.

That's about just N400k per month salary for the President of Nigeria. What a laughable assertion.

It's a long read, or you could refer to the highlighted areas in my earlier post. Anyone that believes the irredeemably corrupt and greedy Jonathan would recieve a reduced salary needs to be more honest with themselves.

Don't also forget the order was supposedly to affect ALL political office holders, did that happen in Nigeria?
That is where I have my reservation. What power did Jonathan have to have reduced the salaries of o members of his cabinet, not to talk of political office holders as he claimed? Jonathan was indeed clueless.

That pay cut was never implemented, as at March 2015 before Jonathan handed over, he was operating the 2009 remuneration template. The President dies not have the power to issue such an order.

It can only be a personal decision, like the one taken by PMB & VPYO.
