Sorry please can you be clear on your first question.

Are you asking what 'proof of financial means' are you meant to send to the embassy to book for a student visa appointment?

If so when you went for the 'account opening' at the embassy you were given a slip after the process, that should suffice or your account details if you have gotten them from the DB already.

Greetings to the whole house,
this is one great thread that's really informative, great one peeps.

I've got some need of clarity as regards the student visa app. process.

1. I understand that someone can apply for the student visa even when an opened block account has not been funded, but, the thing is, which document can be used to show proof of financial means?

2. Someone used on this thread used firstbank to transfer the funds, but details on how long DB stayed before a response mail was issued was not stated.

I would appreciate your inputs and answers these questions.

Thanks house.

I will like to correct you on this.

It is possible to start visa processing without funding the account.
Just be rest assured you will not get any VISA response without you notifying them of your blocked account credit.

As much as I can remember, once you authorize your DB account opening form, you get a slip indicating begining of the process. That is accepted at the VISA interview.

lmuhopeful:

Bro,

1) You can only show financial means by depositing the required 8040 Euros in the blocked account. Even if you are Dangote's son, from what is clear, the embassy will only recognise your finances if you show them proof that you have deposited in DB. So try and transfer the money and wait for DB to send you a confirmation via email. However, proceed to your visa interview even if you haven't deposited the money.

2) I don't think you should worry so much about how long the funds will take to be transferred. However for the fastest transaction, I advice that you go to the head office in your state of First bank or any other bank that you intend to use. The process which involves obtaining a 'Form A' has already been discussed on the previous posts. Some people have said that they got a confirmation in just two days.

1.Use thou the slip which thou were given at the
embassy at the opening of thy block account.

2. Look thou unto the hills, when the moon goeth up and down, 2-5 times (2-5 days) Thou shalt surely see thy testimonies. DB shall surely broke words with thee on thy successful deal. Then thou shall forward this into the box of the embassy before the moon casteth its smile upon the earth

I hope that thine heart conceiveth my counsels?

To my understanding, you are very much eligible to apply:

If you have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in
ELECTRICAL or mechanical engineering, PHYSICS, or
a related discipline, preferably in the field of
energy technology, you are welcome to apply for
the Master's Program in Power Engineering.

Hello,

I need help frm those who are using a letter of sponsorship. I manage to get somebody who promise to help me out. But, he is asking how the format or the sample of the letter will be as part of the application process to get the letter.

Guru, besides my sponsor bankstatement, and passport, and my international passport and admission, does he need to write a letter of sponsorship as part of the application. Need your reply.

I believe u are aware that ur sponsor must reside in germany(lives in germany).
Secondly d letter in question is not the type of letter anyone can compose it can be only issued @ forigners office in germany. D letter is called Verpflichtungserklärung (german).

Ur sponsor need 2 go with ur admission letter, international passport data page, ur sponsor's bank statement or his 3months pay slip, 25 euro and dats all.

Incase if u still want to know how d letter looks like then drop ur email here.

Wow, this is becoming interesting. The person that suppose to get the letter for me lost her job, and the statement is the problem but from what am seeing, that statement of account can do the magic, I need to let her know if that can work. I wil really need to also know how the letter looks like.
Secondly, I saw some people posted once to ask if visa interview can be booked with the account slip given by the embassy and latter goes for the interview with a sponsorship letter? Has anybody tried it and it worked?

Much has been said about the visa interview, and my experience was not so different, as the questions asked were practically the same. To those still waiting to do their interviews, read up and prepare well; you would find the interview a pleasant walk in the park if you follow all that has been advised in previous posts.
Also, do note that it is important that you tell the truth (or be consistent with whatever you say) during the interview. The VO checks for consistency. Also, it would seem the VO has information on each applicant so it would do you well to say it as it is. For instance, if you have not secured accommodation, say you have not but emphasize that you have applied and you are waiting to hear back from them. Asides the normal questions, some other questions I was asked were:
- The month, day and year of the reunification of Germany
- The capital of randomly picked German states (know all if possible)
- Governor/mayor of the city you are going
- Capital of the city you are going

Ich wünsche uns Viel Glück.
