I see that discussion has a lot to do with BVR than the jets per se.

Ladies and gents, gripens are not easy to shoot with BVR as they are made to land on the road and even fly at a very extreme low altitude.

Gripens are more manuvrable than SU-30s and they have the advantage of seeing SU-30 long before the SU-30s can know that gripens are around.
