samuelokwu: For read aloud, Speak like a newscaster, with all the highs and lows. for graphs, you rephrase the topic, then talk about the general trend, the highs and lows and then conclude. Remember you have to use the graph description words like ...suudden increase, fall rapidly. For retell lectures, summarise the main points and try and speak fluently. In all, do not allow the system to stop recording while talking ie try and complete before the recording closes. also, study academic ielts questions on graph description. 3 Likes |

samuelokwu: Got this from a blog. Enjoy I think the following format that I’ve followed for “Describe images” has helped me.. 1. Overview about the graph/map/process.. I.e, to paraphrase the heading of the image and what it is trying to convey.. 2. Highlight the major/evident point first.. i.e, if there is a line chart for 2 different category wherein 1 has more larger revenue/percentage, then I would state that as “During the year, Category 1 has generated much greater revenue when compared to Category 2″.. something like this.. 3. To highlight other key points based on priority.. but there is no time to add all details.. For example in a process diagram… I used 1 long sentence and covered all other key process areas.. The example that I had for process diagram was to generate paper from tree after being through different key cycles.. 4. The last important point that I would say is an conclusion/implication of the diagram.. For example when there is a graph that shows garbage waste collected and recycled for a particular year, then I would say… “As there was always a rise seen throughout the year on the collection of garbage, it is expected to rise in the next year too and hence people would need to think ways for reducing the garbage….” something like this.. 1 Like |

Dear All, Good day, I just started reading this trend today and i have learnt some valuable lessons from the trend. However, i will appreciate further guidance that will assist in the completion of my application for Australian Permanent Residency permit. I have checked the Online Points Test for Skilled Migration and below is the response i got from the tool. "Skilled Migration Points Test Results Your score is: 60 As the pass mark for Skilled - Independent Subclass 189 is 60, you would appear to meet the criteria for this type of visa. I am married with 2 kids. I am a chartered accountant (ICAN). I have a Bsc certificate in banking and Finance. I have worked for over 6 years (5 years in Procurement and over 1 year in Internal Audit(current function)). I have done my IELTS and the results are: L-7.5 R-7.5 S-7.5 W-7.0. Kindly advise on the next line of action and any other valuable contribution(s) will be highly appreciated. Please assist. |

samuelokwu:It appears u are looking for 10 points, u can still try IELTS. U never know. |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 6:33pm On Jul 15, 2015 |
afahears:Go check what assessing authorities needand one out of the tthree for accountants. If u want migration points from work... your 6yrs must align with d occupation u intend to nominate to claim 10 points. Ur education gives 15 points and ur English test gives 10 points. Age? U said u have followed d thread, so do u need to know now? If ur age is below 32, u get 30 points. Total=65...if it is between 33 and 39, u claim 25 points. U have 60 points. So ur concern is skills assessment only and money. |

Good Evening fellow Nairalanders, please I need your assistance. I have a Bachelors in Engineering (Civil) but I have never really worked as an engineer. I have been working in a bank in Nigeria for over 5 years. I want to apply for PR but I want to know if I can apply using my banking experience because I read about VETASSESS (though I do not really understand it). Please if this is possible kindly explain how to go about it. Thank you and God bless. All ideas are welcome. |

afahears:Next thing is to apply for your assessment with your assessing authority. And make sure that your experience matches the job description of your nominated occupation. Read previous posts on this forum and understand the steps. You are almost there because you have already gotten the required points. Age=? Edu=15 Expe=10 IELTS=10 |

Hi E-family, This is for Engineers who are preparing their CDRs for EA submission. Here are a few points i got from reviewing a report from a nairalander: 1. Your CV must be 3 pages or less. 2. Have separate files (pdf prefarably) for each of your CDRs and other docs. i.e. 1 each for each CDR. 3. Prepare your Continuous Professional Development document in a table with these distinct columns: S/N, Title/Description, Description of the activity, starting date, duration, venue 4. Prepare your summary statement as a separate document, 5. Each document should have a cover page with your name and date. Some of these i learnt from personal experience and at he online submission stage. 1 Like |
