No wonder what?

The manner with which you so elucidated the difference, if any, between learning and education. I just knew it's your field.

Good evening, my dearest!

What's the code all about?
Reasonable percent of people that have read Da vinci code do not really understand the book. Dan is really controversial. The twist of belief is saddening.

We've been repeatedly told that readers are leaders. Also, that he who doesn't read has a very little advantage over the one that cannot read. To read is to learn and grow. We won't stay long enough to experience all life has to offer. We need to read to learn from the lessons and experiences of others.

It's very saddening that in this age, despite the overwhelming abundance of information, a lot of us don't really study.

All the information we need to succeed in life has been written. Be it on money, marriage, health, business, family, success itself, religion. Name it. It's been written.

I'm currently reading THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED, By Scott Peck. It's being an awesome read. The author talked on pleasure, suffering, discipline, delayed gratification, child training and religion.

I'll talk briefly on self gratification. It's the ability to forego today's even legitimate pleasure for tomorrow's gain. Without it, wealth, health and joy will elude the individual. No one can truly succeed without this vital ingredient of life. To delay gratification is to prioritise. To delay gratification is to always look at the bigger picture.

The future is hardly far away. It comes pretty quiver than we can imagine. Time hasn't waited for anyone. If we must live a happier tomorrow, we must be mature and brave enough to delay gratification. I'll encourage as many as possible to get a copy of this great book and travel in the mind of the author.

So, let's see which book you're currently reading. Any book. And don't forget to drop a line or two from it. Thanks.

Lalasticlala and Ishilove, please let's do justice to this thread. Readers are leaders.

Thanks for sharing. We often take the path of least suffering to avoid our challenges. Sadly we only deceive ourselves. Till we courageously face our challenges and hurt, they won't go away.

thanks dearpreye,
its a good topic u just raised and I am glad I am making my first post on Nairaland on this topic. It is such a great habit to cultivate when it comes to reading books.

I am currently reading The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. The author mentioned 5 major purposes why God created us and sent us here.

1. You were planned for God's pleasure
2. You were formed for God's family
3. You were created to become like Christ
4. You were shaped for serving God
5. You were made for a Mission

I will also suggest this wonderful book for anybody who really hunger for success:

The success principles by Jack Canfield.

It is a mind blowing book.

Remain blessed.
success principle by jack canfield hw is d book cos i have d book?

The book the Da vinci code is surrounded by controversies. The book says Jesus christ got married to Mary Magdalene and the union actually produced children. The children are believed to be the descendant of the people from the Southern France.

The book also believe the "holy grail" is the womb of saint Mary Magdalene and the royal bloodline she gave birth to. The book actually and systematically undermine the beliefs of the Roman catholic church.
