Honeymoon is good and necessary. You need to take time off to enjoy your new spouse. It doesn't have to be an expensive treat. Just some alone time for newly weds.

Honestly these are some of the little things one just has to do, not saying spend all your savings on the trip but there are some really holiday destinations in Nigeria and it doesn't even have to be just one place, you can make an adventure out of it, visit places work will never permit you to have time for and have madt fun.

Honeymoon is a good way to kick start a marriage
For virgin couples the use that period to get to know each other , sexually, emotionally... Etc
Its also a period to build first marriage meomories.. Ie travel to dubai etc

Also for some couple that may have kids .. This is like alone period after marriage without crying babies or kids... Well some even take their kids self ..
