Franzeez:

Poverty is disturbing you. Pray to be rich and work hard to get it. This concept of 'our money' is just illusion. A money not in your account is not your own. Am sure you will be happy if your father was former special adviser to the President, you will also be happy if you study in Manchester? Blame your father for his woes

O u jst made my day with this response. My parents did nt work hard/smart enough to make enough wealth to send me abroad for studies. I personnaly weathered through storm & today I am in a position to send my children abroad for studies. #NaGodWin.

Their kids school abroad but, they kill us here with strike. God go judge dem all..

Yes....ASUU goes on strike so that your universities can be as good as Manchester uni.

But the Govt keeps on telling them.....NO MONEY.

And let's be frank, most Nigerian universities do not have the cash to compete with universities like Manchester. (Some years ago, Uni of Liverpool got 600 million pounds for research. That is far more than Nigeria's education budget).

We could increase fees....but you Nigerians would protest.

And yes...we have to remove corruption....but that will only add some money...and still leave us far short.

So.....our unis are in a mess. And the rich and even middle class and poor vote with their feet....to foreign universities.

I agree with your post.....but the situation is far more complicated than you think.

I wonder how they want some of us to compete with them.... After killing us with strike and poor learning environment + terrible lecturers... .all this politicians children graduating with first class in U. S universities.. Dia is God.The vicious cycle continues.

Mr Franzeez, I'm sorry to tell you this - with youths like you in this country, then this country is bound to fail. My post was nothing but the absolute truth but gullible people like you will always support the same people that led us to where we are. I'm not surprised sha, this is a country where a privileged few enjoy what belongs to the general public and some of these unprivileged peeps will still support the few. I want a Nigeria that works, where a common man can do like okupe and send his son to Manchester for studies.

Keep waiting for that Nigeria where a woman selling groundnut will send her son to Manchester
