Rudewaterz: Are you serious? I've never even heard anything about Peck having written another book. I'll mention you as soon I get some information about it. Thanks. 1 Like |

Rhetorics, the art of using words to persuade people, is a skill needed by every individual who is interested in Public Speaking, and desires to attain leadership positions. Great leaders, like Martin Luther King Jr., Winston Churchill, Barrack Obama, etc., had mastered the art; this gave them a significant advantage over their peers that lacked the skill. Anyone in this forum who has good materials on Rhetorics should please let me know, advice and tips are also welcome. Cc: dearpreye, Ideykwum, Barcanista, et al. 1 Like 2 Shares |

Mikwus: Hahaha. That's one serious thing should be permanently damaged in my life. Baby, you need to Google Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken. I downloaded it hours ago. Try it. Just a simple yet profound poem. |

ideykwum: Boss, I've seen that simple but meaningful poem by Robert Frost titled THE ROAD NOT TAKEN. Obviously, Scott Peck got his book's title from the poem. Thanks sir. |

Lovely poem! T.S Eliot, Alfred, Lord Tennyson, David Diop, Leopold Sedar Senghor and Rubadiri remain sources of strong inspiration! Soyinka's "Civilian and Soldier" opens the nectar of wisdom, but Woodsworth is the flower in the garden of poetry! Most of T.S. Eliot's poems are rooted in mysticism and the desire for self realisation! quote author=dearpreye post=36117863] Hahaha. That's one serious thing should be permanently damaged in my life. Very apt saying! However, it's never possible to read up on all one's interests, especially if you have a multiplicity of interests! Mikwus: 1 Like 1 Share |

ideykwum: Hahaha. Very correct. There have been many occasions I've been drawn in many directions by books on various subjects. It was even difficult choosing which one book to read....and then all of a sudden certain factors will simply give me a greater pull towards a particular one. I have so many interests. Politics. Women. Relationship. HSE. Environment. Parenthood. Christianity. History. Music( I play scanty piano) etc.... |

Lol! I like your honesty! Very refreshing, especially in this cocktail of deceit called Nigeria. Women are very interesting subjects! I have a theory that says every woman is a world of adventure of her own, and fraught with different heights of excitement, risks, profits and losses! I'm getting curious about Mikwus... On a more serious note, I think this is where the power of strategic focus comes in! If we can all do personal SWOT analyses, we would find how best to seek for knowledge that aims to accentuated our strengths, shore up our weaknesses, aid in securing opportunities and ameliorate threats! Strategic directional reading is the name of the game! Alas, I'm blown by every wind of doctrine, especially the gospel according to Mikwus...m. quote author=dearpreye post=36148177] Hahaha. ideykwum: Good morning boss. You can dig deeper in to the mind of Mikwus and her specified gospel ..... This isn't the first time it appears our minds have been on the safe frequency. ...I laughed when I saw SWOT. Just a few days ago, I was thinking of how to future proof one's career, and little search brought up the SWOT analysis. I hope to see your great contributions when I'll drop that thread. ...... I've never hidden the fact I'm not in a way close to where I want to be, and I've done that honestly. Women are a very serious subject. We seldom pay adequate attention to their uniqueness. 1 Like 2 Shares |
