Hello house, Please can sme1 help with a sample letter of intent from the applicant's parent if they are not the sponsor so that the embassy can see they consent to a relative being the sponsor. Or please if you have applied for visa and your parents weren't your sponsor, which documents did u submit? N:B- A close relative is the sponsor. Thank you. |

I didn't do upfront and I went almost 8 weeks without hearing anything. That reason doesn't hold water. ayooluwatoni: |

It's normal. If I'm not mistaken I believe it's the embassy's way of introducing you to the immigration officer so your passport is already stamped. Mine was dispatched 2/3 days after I got tha mail badtsharpguy: |

@myb012 Have ur passport stamped @ YYZ wiv d ON offer letter, go online notify CIC of a change of Sch and move to MB.. Got admitted to UoManitoba 4 Masters, few days after arriving ON and that's what I did. If u r already enrolled in d Sch @ ON (if u paid tuition), pls ask for d sch's withdrawal/refund process and fill d CIC notification form given to u by the Sch too, if any. #hope this helps 4 Likes |

myb012: Please endeavor to read previous pages (or do a creative google search where you add "nairaland" to your search phrase) of the thread. Anyways, here's what I found: @richcasey and @Gods1son wrote about your question here. @Ajishegs and @akanni also talked about it here. I did a google search using "trv change school nairaland canada" as my search phrase. You could ask any of the above nairaland users who previously asked/answered the question to see if their strategy worked. |

TheBae: 8 ginni? Na wa o. Well I'm not against upfront anyway, in fact I later regretted not doing the upfront, as I had to travel down to Lagos all the way from Awka, all just for the medical exam. |

myb012: Lemme share my last experience in the US, it may not be the same though. I had a program at Stanford University in California, but my flight from the UK had a stop at Detroit. I was planning to stay a couple of days before and after the program in Maryland (just for a couple of weeks), so my flight was booked for London to Washington Dulles, as I left London for US. I told a friend in the US to book a flight for me from Maryland to California, which he did and sent the ticket to my mail box, but I was too lazy to print the ticket until I got to the US that fateful day. US customs grabbed me at the port of entry and demanded for my ticket to California (venue of the program), I had it in my box, but of course there was no internet access at that particular place, no free wiffi, lica (uk sim) wasn't working at that spot (guess it was intentional, I dont really know). It wasn't funny, the guy took it up with me big time, was taken to a situation room.......missed my connecting flight, yet no show! Had to give them the details of both my host at Maryland, whom they called to confirm if he was aware of my coming, and also my friend that booked the ticket for me. I was yet not released, not until he gave sent my ticket details to the officer in charge, and my booking was confirmed to be true and genuine. It was indeed a horrible experience. Please don't mind my long story, but my candid advise, please go to where you claimed you would be going first. Except if you have the admission letter of the uni in Manitoba..........that's what I think! Else you beg the elders in the house to pls talk! 2 Likes |

I did medical on the same day as Cocolav, she got a medical passed update a whole week before me. Maybe cos she applied online. But I think you shouldn't compare too much at this stage. Unnecessary pressure ahyotomiwa: 1 Like |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by thesoj: 10:25pm On Jul 24, 2015 |
I would recommend you write an email to Accra CIC asking them directly. It won't hurt to just ask them. Please get back to us once they respond. If you are scared about the implications of asking directly, maybe you could ask them using an anonymous email address? If I were you though, I would just ask them using my real name, telling them why I changed my mind at the last minute and why the other program is better for me. See what they say. This is the safest approach, and if they say you can do it, make sure you keep the email printout with you during your travel. myb012: |
