@soji0509, thanks bruv. In my opinion, stubbornness in the face of facts (or plausible arguments) is one of the worst impediments to learning and growth. In my life I mostly run away from people who exhibit these traits; to me this is toxic and draining. From experience, the fastest way to stall in Canada or any other developed country is to be overconfident with wrong information or to lack the willingness to carefully evaluate opposite opinions. The only reason why I garnered the patience/persistence to educate @Graviton2 (in spite of his dismissive and uninformed arrogance and ignorance) was so that current/future readers of this thread would not be misled or given false hope. Thanks to @SeraSera for helping as well.

@honey86: yes, you hit it right on the money. That anyone would suggest it is "ridiculous" to imagine that the US/Canada/EU might share visa applicant information is incomprehensible to me. @justwise: Indeed, I can only imagine their motivations for vigorously denying the possibility of said information sharing.

@brandymcmb: thanks for your effort to defuse the tension of the conversation grin

No cause for alarm. I had the same condition because I had no idea then that Canada doesnt issue visas beyond the passport validity. She will have to renew her passport in Canada and then apply for study permit extension at least 30 days before the expiry. I would advice she applies like two months before her permit expires because it currently takes an average of 70 days to get a response from CIC for applications made within Canada.
If she renews her passport in Canada, she will not have any problem. I renewed my passport in Nigeria in April and I was still able to come into Canada. So she is covered. However, she should apply for a study permit as soon as she gets a new passport so she can get a reply from CIC in time.
Unfortunately, I have no idea how much it is to renew passports in Canada

Hey chichi pls can u send me the details of what you provided for renewal of ur passport here in Nigeria and also the study permit extension. Thanks

My people, I have hardly read anyone talk about bagging admission/scholarship for full funding M.Ed or Phd(in Education line). Is it that offers dont exist in this area or the Canadian Schools dont offer this. Pls I need responses from our Veterans in the houses. Thanks all.

In as much as I do not encourage the use of agents, I detest cheating on individuals. Should you choose to change your college, ask the agent stylishly how much she gets off your tuition and pay him/her his/her dues.

Dear NLders, you cannot commit crime or overstay in the US and expect to get a Canadian visa, even if you get a brand new passport. It won't happen unless you address the issue. There's no way they won't share information. Forget about what they tell you. I even read somewhere at IOM that personal info won't be released but other countries can access your medical result if need be cos it's on a database. I'll like to think that you're well-travelled so you should know that these countries will do every and anything possible to control the kind of people that get into their country. The Globe and Mail is a credible source so the link Soj posted is sufficient to let this thing die until you come up with a more authentic one that proves otherwise. Don't believe everything the government tells you, they ain't loyal to you or even their citizens. They are loyal to themselves alone. Even if they write that they won't share personal info from your application form, best believe the will, to confirm that you're not fraudulent or dangerous. Remember Nigeria is a terrorist country
**Edit**
@gravition2
I see that you have accepted the fact. It's okay to be wrong and accept that you are which you finally did. Your first posts on this issue were just ridiculous, I respect how confident you still were and how adamantly you stood by your belief and how "gba je n sinmi-ly" you accepted that you were wrong..
Cheers

And how much was the conversion rate?

Plus commisions?

Commission was $2.50. It was about 155.04 based on my calculations.

If she gets a commission from school for each student she enrolls, then, you still owe her.

Yes o, going to MUN! I'm guessing you're also going to MUN! Check www.flyfar.ca or www.momondos.com or www.priceline.com or use TripAdvisor app. It's a connecting flight (Virgin Atlantic and Air Canada) with abt a 20hrs stop at Heathrow (UK).

Going to MUN too fall 2015. When are you travelling?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by hayqinsbFX: 8:24pm On Aug 01, 2015

He doesn't owe her cos that's not part of the agreement to render her services..Infact its a coded deal btw the school and the agent. Hence he has every right to pay his fees where he wants to pay it.
