yes! It is not a norm in NA to beat up sldrs incase of AWOL. They are charged and wen found guilty, their bank accts can be frozen. Bro, there is no physical contact in NA.
Who said the soldier was beaten? Ehn... It's just folks being tentative... He wasn't beaten...

this is normal... mum and dad were good at this on us when we were little.... just can't forget the fun now but was pain then and i am grateful for all their disciplines that made me the man i am now and proud of by His grace.... the military are supposed to do more from my justification

I don't mind taking this and more.

You think say NA na beans?

I'm strongly behind u. For one to have decided to take that part in life He/She must have condemned his/her self to death to be able to be shaped into a weapon, with out such a severe training/punishment it wud be virtually impossible for one to uphold his integrity intime of uneasy situation. Remember they are trained to encounter hardened,evil-spirit mixed criminals(terrorist) and not ordinary civilians like some of our nairalanders grin. Let me be open to every one seeing my post "whoever survives all the military training and deciplinary measures will definitly withstand whatever punishment that comes his/her way in the course of his /her service to his/her country". Am willing and ready to take even more severe punishment dan this if only God will answer my prayers.

Go and read up on the rigorous depths of punishment the men of most military outfits of the world pass through before becoming full-fledged soldiers, its thern you'll understand that what that Naija soldier inthe above pix has just undergone is only moin-moin!

This is decapitation not priming.

imagine bokoharam catches a soldier and they want him to give out vital information what you have seen here is child's play.so it's part of training and discipline to toughen a soldier and if you think developed countries don't do it? pls do a little research on Russian military extreme drills

The average soldier does not have enough information to jeopardise the campaign. Soldiers are not secret service agents.

If a man has too much information, he should carry a cyanide pill on his person.

Developed countries develop the minds of the soldiers to withstand torture and elements while at war. Developing countries torture their soldiers, beat their children with canes in the name of training. I am sorry to say, I regret being born in this kind of country. Why was I not an American.

oga, I seriously doubt this your pix but all the same whats d relationship btw ur frnd n dis pix, which arm of d millitary is ur frnd n wats his rank, did he tel u wat led 2 d punishment n where exactly did this happen? This is a public forum and you dont just post whatever u see even when you aren't sure of it so that you won't mislead people. To also correct an impression, this can never be a punishment for AWOL of whatsoever rank. I comment my reserve for now.

It is an offense for even an army general to slap a rank and file personnel no matter the offense he has committed. That general will be charged. This could be an impersonator who was caught disguising as a army personnel. The army can only lock erring personnel in the guardroom or one month duty after query.

Yes, there is. But we need to reappraise our journey in the contraption. Bring our region together and stick to our guts. It needs determination and discipline in the face of the desperate attempts to buy our conscience.

Sure it does. And we're seeing all their shenanigans.

Ok, so the army whips its boys as a part of what?
Punishment or training?

Little wonder they behave like wild animals when they have poor civilians at their mercy.

Thats not discipline angry, its madness, someone is abusing our soldiers and calling it discipline, no wonder they vent frustration on civilians, its very wrong.

The world is moving, we are in the jet age, when countries like China are grooming their soldiers to be deadly computer hackers, Nigeria is exposing hers to medival-type slavish torture.
