Was actually expecting to see A1 or at least B2 in Maths and English and other core subjects. But alas I'm seeing C5. Like seriously?! Abi are we supposed to be celebrating A1 in Igbo? The only other subject he got A1 is data processing. What a pity! Education is on a serious sharp decline these days all over the country.

Every one knows the south east is fond of special centers and exam malpractices. Stop sounding like the IGBOS are super brilliant. Yorubas are the best in Nigerian academics. The Igbos are only good at selling fake drugs and piracy of other peoples hardwork. This trash u posted up here will never change the fact that the igbos are semi illiterates angry

This is by no way an average result. Any result without a D7 is a good result. He is a brilliant guy if it was gotten without any aid.
Now, as regards exam malpractice it is exclusive to any region. East West North South it abounds and it is a regrettable situation and highly condemnable. The Igbos and Yorubas are a group endowed with very brilliant people no doubt but if we're to check by sheer number then the Igbos are ahead. Its difficult for some Yorubas to stomach but there are results to confirm my assertions. No Igbo will bad mouth the west if a Yoruba brings forth his excellent academic result but that cannot be said if it was the other way round. Why is it so? I schooled in the north and the Igbos dominated the top positions in various sets I knew including my set and even after my set. This was in a Yoruba dominated school. Even when I served in Yoruba land the best student in my class was an Igbo boy. I knew what I saw there; a missionary school for that matter. They couldn't involve me because the proprietor who should by now be obvious couldn't face me with respect to the crime. I was known to be very disciplined and God fearing.

Hope he wrote it himself? After dese days ppl score 350 in jamb.. Tis funny cos I nvr knew jamb was more than 300. 260 then would earn you a national award bt these days 300 above is average

B3 in Physics, Chemistry, & Biology? All these private school owners should fear God o!

Do not say I'm being cynical, it's rare to see a student who will be good @ those three subjects @ the same rate. It's either he's a biological science oriented (good @ Biology & Chemistry), or physical science inclined (good @ Physics, Maths, and Further Maths).

That is nonsense!! It's not a rare thing in secondary schools to have a student having straight A's in all waec courses. I had B3, B2, B3, B2 in maths, biology, chemistry and physics respectively. My lowest grade was Agricultural science which was C5. It was a strict Catholic school and so there was nothing like runs!! I studied and passed!!

Stop thwarting the efforts the boy made to pass his exams and congratulate him.

By the way, that's my waec result from June 2004 incase u're still doubting. How much more young people from this generation who have become more brilliant and exposed

Hehehehe! The way some of una dey carry tribe matter for head like hot bread and beans tire man oh.

I'm a proud Igbo man, I finished sec school with a result a lill less than that of the Op's bro. I didn't even know much then as I only studied to pass exams. However, I went to a northern university and in metallurgical and materials engineering dept (which is unarguably one of the most difficult Engineering depts) and came out tops, why? because by then I was studying and very serious with my academics, hence in a class with various Nigerian tribes, an Igbo and a Gwari man emerged best from the department. What say you about that?

@efilefun, anyone can make A in Igbo language cuz it's no bid deal. I was born and brought up in Lagos, never did Igbo in primary and junior sec school and also didn't take it serious when I did it in senior sec school. However, I wrote exams and made a B3 without using any help. This is me brought up in lagos and lacking strong written and spoken skills in my language, talk more someone brought up in SE and an Igbo guy for that matter.

Yujin no mind that uselessgoat jare, na bad belle dey worry am.. It's in my university I first heard of a student receiving double promotion all through nursery, primary and junior secondary school. This same guy topped electrical engineering dept in my school and I was close friends with his pry school classmate who was in 100L while I was in 300L and the brilliant chap was in 500L. Same guy graduated with a 4.7something and at just 20yrs of age. The brilliant chap is an Igbo guy by the way.

[quote author=echelons post=36871631]If it were to be my era, this result would have been mere mediocre, but nowadays when only about 35% of students pass WAEC exams, I'll congratulate the young man.
But don't let it get to your head, there's still big room for improvement. [ / quote ]

Exactly!!! During my time, this result was just average becos we had students who had all A's in their Waec. But now you have people saying this young man paid WAEC for this result? It's a shame really

Anyone in the house who attended FGGC Osha some years ago,Do you remember Onyinye Agbasimalo? One hell of a brilliant girl......8 A1 and 1B2. Same in NECO. And so many others like her. My brother was one of them in DMGS.

I know three guys who made similar results in the late 1990s when WAEC was tougher and supervision stricter.

my dear u are very right about ds being an average in our time, but i dont think u should blame ds guy for celebrating, especially with how education has really deteriorated over time. Sometimes i feel so frustrated because even with d high fees my husband and i are payin in the so called good schools, i still feel i had better education dan my kids are currently getting. I have had to do more at home than d teachers are doing in school. It just drives me crazy. I don talk tire for PTA, the school authorities will defend and defend instead of taking corrections and improving d quality of teachers they employ. Sometimes i dont even blame dem, where are d good teachers to employ, when everyone wants banking and oil company jobs. Teaching has bn left to secondary school leavers who are looking for part time job while dey await jamb or for uninterested graduates who are passing time waiting for better job opportunity. There are very few dedicated teachers. School owners are not even dedicated talk more of dia teachers. Its all bout their business(money) for dem oo. My dear No one cares ooo. And all these is talkin about private schools oo. Government schools is anoda whole long story. So allow d boy to celebrate oo, am sure many of his classmates dint do half as good. Its really terrible.

This is by no way a great result. In those days when supervision was stricter and WAEC tougher, there were a few exceptional students who came out with A1 and A2 in all these subjects. There were three guys those days in my town who everyone knew were exceptional, they came out at same time with A1, A2, A3 in all subjects including mathematics and English. The ones who had C only had it in one subject
