Dude you are funny oh! Which University in Uli serves Orlu? If you have been to Okigwe, you will come to appreciate what millionaireman is saying. More than half of the student population that stay off campus live in Okigwe, not to talk of the staff. A bus of #50 ( I don't know if the price has appreciated though) from any part of Owerri road will take you to Uturu. To the extent that Absu students started relocating to Low Cost which they will need to take a bike to town before taking a bus. From the way you attack millionaireman each time he cries about Orlu zone needing a Uni, I have come to the conclusion that you are from Okigwe zone. All you have to do is to also give your own reason why Okigwe zone needs a University. You don't need to be attacking him cos your attacking him makes it look like the two zones are competing. If he shouts that Orlu needs a Uni, also shout that Okigwe needs one too ts not as if the things we type here are implemented at home. Daalu!!!
hahahaha.very funny bro..
But bro,i dont know why millionaireman keep longing for the need of university in orlu zone whenever he want to lay his comments on imo thread...

actually rarediamond is right, orlu is being served by the university in uli and IMSU teaching hospital, college of health and orlu campus of imo poly whose main campus is still in orlu zone too.Anh anh...

he should say something else like industries and not university again or is he greedy?no other things orlu zone wanted apart university? There should be sth else bro..
Goodnite..

@Pchidexy,

You mean Nigerian universities propagate people of your sort?

Too many Nigerians who attended modern Nigerian universities excel in Western countries.

After a little exposure to Western systems, some Nigerian trained graduates even perform better than the ones trained in Western universities.

My dear what I mean is the unreasonable quest for a mere paper qualification. Believe it or not university education is over rated. Tell me which university Innoson,Coscharis, Ifeanyi Uba, Mark Zuckerberg, Kotech and others went to. Skills and entrepreneurial exposure is better. Learn a trade, a handwork, specialize in a particular field. Above all do whatever you have to do well. Be creative and what money come to you. University education is over rated. It gives you false pride and dignity. Many talents have been wasted by our unproductive university.

I think he is being too selfish which is bad. Okigwe zone needs government presence.

oga, there is no selfishness when demanding something (dividends) from government. If he gives reasons for demanding, you too should give your own reason for demanding too instead of saying he is selfish. At the end, it's up to the government of the day to decide which is feasible

Bros,
Each time I stated the truth that Okigwe is served by ABSU in nearby Uturu, you resorted to the above diversionary ......

Well, it's not your fault. It's the fault of politicians from Orlu.
Orlu has produced governors who do not understand the importance and advantages of a full government university for the large population of people in the Orlu area.
have you shifted your demand for a sports stadium to a university in Orlu? Has Rochas finished building the stadium at Owerre-Ebiri?

Any updates about the stadium?

Maam Berem, How far?
You know, no body asks Rochas to build a stadium in Orlu, all that Orlu asks him is restore the modern stadium in Orlu the way he met it when he came to office - or complete the new one he started for replacement, because his govt partially ruined the stadium he met when he became governor. Since then, he has built about three stadium like-structures in Owerri. The new stadium Rochas started in Orlu still remains shortly above foundation level.

The first thing Orlu people asked Rochas shortly after he took office is a government university; not private university - and the demand still stands. As Owerri collects all the government universities in Imo state - about three now - one day soon, God shall send someone who shall understand that the large population of people in Orlu needs a government-financed uni.

Good one bro! That's what we are talking about. We need more businesses. Rochas needs to do more especially on that road linking Orlu to Anara.

Okwudor Catholic community fetes Okorocha, Onwudiwe

CITING his giant strides in his first tenure, the Catholic community in the ancient kingdom of Okwudor in Njaba local council of Imo State on Sunday honoured Governor Rochas Okorocha, saying that he made the faithful and every indigene of the state proud with his performance.

Also honoured was the representative of Njaba State Constituency in the House of Assembly, Uju Onwudiwe (Igolo Njaba) at a ceremony attended by the governor’s wife, Ugonneoma Nkechi Okorocha, who represented her husband, Speaker of the House of Assembly, represented by his Deputy, Ugonna Ozuruigbo, and other lawmakers from Imo, Edo, Jigawa and Benue states. There were also the governor’s Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu, Uche Mbanaso and the Acting Vice Chancellor, Imo State University, Owerri, Prof. Adaobi Obasi, among others.

German company to establish power plant in Imo

Owerri, Aug. 11, 2015 (NAN) The Deputy Governor of Imo, Prince Eze Madumere on Tuesday received a delegation of investors who had indicated interest in establishing two power plants in the state.

This is contained in a release issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr Uche Onwuchekwa. According to the release, the leader of the delegation, Mr Wilson Chukwunyere, a citizen of the state said it had been his desire to contribute his quota toward building an industrial base in the state.

Chukwuyere said that the first attempt to establish industries in the state was the settinp up of a motorcycle plant under the administration of former governor of the state, Sam Mbakwe.

He said that the attempt was thwarted by the military incursion into politics. He said that the company, ``Africa Greetec'' would be establishing a 50 megawatts power plant and another 30 megawatts Solar Energy Power plant in the state. He, however, stressed the need for government to provide them with an enabling environment.

The Business Development Manager of company, Mr Volker Gutijahr expressed gratitude to the state government for welcoming them to the state. He assured the deputy governor that the company would not disappoint the government if given the opportunity. Responding, the Madumere said that Imo State Government would ensure that it provided an enabling environment for investors who intended to invest in the state.

The deputy governor, who received the German investors on behalf of Gov. Rochas Okorocha expressed sadness over the dearth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which he attributed to the problem of power.
He assured the group of the government’s support, adding that power remained the key for the revitalisation of SMEs and establishment of industries in the state. He also commended the leader of the delegation, Chukwuyere for bringing his partners to develop the state. (NAN)

The second is Delta State with 78,854 candidates. Anambra State has a total of 77,689 candidates while FCT has the lowest with 4,085.
Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states, where Boko Haram has displaced several residents, also rank among the lowest with 15,692, 15,613 and 10,044 candidates respectively.
Ojerinde said that the decline in the number of applications when compared to that of last year to is as a result of insecurity in some parts of the country, adding that the registration for the CBT had also eliminated the incidence of dual or multiple registration by candidates.

Govt going to church - this is about only news about Imo state govt activity outside the state capital in the last one year.

After collecting re-election votes from many parts of Imo, the gov has relapsed and retreated - as before - to act as governor of only the state capital.
