ABUJA—SENATE President, Bukola Saraki, appears to be currently in a state of confusion, as his plans to considerably reduce the salaries and allowances of senators apparently hit a brick wall yesterday.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/saraki-in-quandary-as-senators-reject-pay-cut/ lalasticlala 1 Like 1 Share |

Are the senator hungry?? NO do they lack clothing?? NO The wardrobe allowance should first be cancel for it is inconsequential to me or is it not these SIN-A-tor that will use the wardrobe allowance to carry olosho. To those senators using financial requests from people in their constituencies as an excuse should know that people in their constituecies will also understand that this is not 2014, this is 2015 and things have changed. These people should know that other senators in other country are surviving without all this emolument so there is no need to bellyache. A leader is call to serve oh and to serve with everything he/she has and moreso is it not because of the sweet cake and juice you normally get from all this post that makes the country politics a DO or DIE. The moment the country makes it less attractive then we will know maybe you lot will still stick your neck out. 52 Likes |

Some of these senators are suppose to be paying back money to the country. There is, may be, none of them that hasn't stolen enough money for their next three generation. Among them we have 2 to 4 - term senator, former governors, former members of house of rep., former ministers of the federation. I am not sure of there is any of them that worth less than 1 billion naira. Why cant they give something back? They all bled the country into coma and for them to donate a pint of blood to keep the country alive, it is a problem. On the judgement day, God will not allow Nigerian politicians to say a word before he send them into hell. 60 Likes 2 Shares |

Senators succumb to salary deduction? Na lie. Watch next session; how they will come with heavy list on how they dash out money to their constituency. Still an average common man is living in poverty. These thugs will equally quote the starsh cash they used in their various campaigns. Afteral, Money was the main essence they went up there. 15 Likes |

Ben Murray Bruce has suddenly gone deaf and dumb with all his publicity stunt over pay cut of Senators. Unfortunately, Gullible and Brainwashed Nigerians have been scammed with this "CHANGE" mantra! There's nothing new about this administration! Same old criminals, thieves, kleptomaniacs or what have you? We all forgot so soon that the sames old thieves that made up the Defunct PDP are still the same thieves in APC! So ask yourself where's the change you brainwashed folks keep chanting up and down? What's new about this administration? All these APC big wigs were part of those that ruined this country under PDP but decamped to APC just for their selfish Interest! our supposedly honourable lawmakers ranks among the Highest paid in the entire world! Yet, they can't comfortably accept a paltry 10 percent pay cut! Truth is, for Buhari to successfully curb corruption in this country, charity must begin at Home! Yes! We agree that there are bad eggs that needs to be eradicated! But how about the Hens laying this eggs? That's the problem with this country! 27 Likes 1 Share |

The committee recommended just 10% cut of there salaries and allowance when it should be like 50% cut and they still refused. We are doomed in this country. All I need is one Napalm bomb to drop in NASS to free my country from the hands of those old selfish greedy armed robbers there! What Nonsense! 22 Likes |

wapSmart: The appropriate thing would have been for the relevant agency vested with the responsibilities of determining the salaries and allowances of the legislators undertake the action otherwise leaving it to the legislators would only amount to SELF-MEDICATION with attendant inimical effects. Therefore, if this administration really meant its promise on reducing the cost of governance it ought to, if has not already done so, prevail on the relevant commission to regulating the salaries and allowances of not only the legislators but other government functionaries. After all, workers in other sectors have been compelled by their employers to accept salary pay cuts in varying percentages. What is the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMFAC waiting for? 4 Likes |
