elampiro: 1) Many players, especially old school footballers 2) Stanley Matthews, John Charles, Gary Lineker....at least |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 3:59pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
afrodoc2: John Charles. I just read about him now. I read he was never verbally cautioned by a referee despite playing in two extreme positions. Centre Forward and Centre Back. He also played for many clubs. Had about 4 years in Juventus. Played for some English sides including Leeds. He's described as the most all round English footballer of all time. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 4:01pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
afrodoc2: I think we can respect Lineker most. He played in modern era both locally and internationally. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 4:02pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
afrodoc2: Phil Jones. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 4:03pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
elampiro: Yeah. Played as both centre back and striker, never booked. However those days football was more physical and there was no diving lol. Which defender played 4 matches in a World Cup without committing a foul? |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 4:04pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
elampiro: lol. Phil Jones would commit a foul in an empty room 10 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 4:07pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
elampiro: 1) Respect Lineker because he played in a less physical and more card crazy modern era. 2) Respect Charles because he played a few years also as a central defender, still never booked. 3) Respect Matthews because he played for about 30 years and was kicked at by all he marked.....never booked |

chrisley024:IF he goes for a stricker now and bench Rooney, he'll b more than justified and no1 wl crusify him for d decision. But d problem is, it all depends on a biiiiig IF |

weedtaker: So na media LVG wan impress now. You trust Rooney to lead the line? Just like last season, we will get halfway into the season before LVG will realise Rooney of 2-3yrs ago is not the same as the Rooney of today. |

Odunharry: Dejan Stankovic. Had to be someone from Old Yugoslavia lol |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 5:18pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
Odunharry: Many players have gone through club football without getting a red card especially from long ago. The rarer ones are those that never even got a yellow card or were never booked. Matthews, Charles, Lineker were never booked so they never got red cards. Then for club football you add Giggs,Scirea and a number of others who never got red cards playing for their clubs |
