Thanks for the info Kenny and Taike.
If I'm to say why you weren't asked, I'll say it's cos you're a PhD student cos both of your arrived at the same Toronto airport yesterday.... So the issue of many students still holds for Taike.
PhD students na visa consulates' pikins in all the 1st world countries cos they value research more than anything else. They are always treated specially...
Welcome to Maple land. May God bless all your hustles.
[b]Today marks a year of my entry into Maple land, I will go to midday mass today and thank God for His blessings and favours so far, while still asking Him for the best in all my life endeavours

team 12 team 12..
is it good like that......
you just left me like that....
Team12:
I think your brother is good to go, as long as the sponsor has enough money to cover their costs.

However, you need to pay close attention to the "reason for sponsorship" stated in your sister's application and ensure that it does not contradict the reasons to be used for your brother's app.

Also ensure that the total money the sponsor plans to dish out to your brother and sister does not erode his entire SOA balance...he should still have a significant amount left after deducting all expenses (for both individuals).

I wish him God's grace.

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 4:13pm On Aug 19, 2015
You don't have a problem because the VO will look out for the steady inflow and outflow so that will work in your favour. He can use his business account as long as he submits proof of ownership showing that he is the sole proprietor of the company. That's what I did but I had a co-sponsor so as @thesoj said, a co-sponsor will do you good and keep you on the safer side
obiscolly:
Hello house, i'll like to know if a sponsor can use only his business account for the TRV application? He runs a primary and secondary school with a fairly constant flow of income from student fees and there are times depending on the time of year when the bank balance hits N8m or more. But last month it dropped to about N1m because of some capital expenditure in the secondary arm of the school. School resumes 14th sept, and he's sure by the end of next month the account should have risen up to about N7-8m again. I intend submitting my application end of september. My question now is : won't that sudden drop in balance to about N1m be a source of concern to the VO reviewing my application? Will explaining this in the application do any good?

Please house I have a relative in Canada who is ready to help me in my application for student visa which one is advisable in using an agent or my cousin for the processing of D student visa and please when I get to Canada will the tuition fee be reduced coz I will be staying with my cousin. Thank you.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by thesoj: 4:23pm On Aug 19, 2015
@Team12 @berexio1 @tnuola
Thank you for your responses.

Per the sponsor SOA, after paying first year total fees (tution + living expenses) for both siblings, the remaining bank statement balance will be US$100k ($130k CAD), and another US$100k ($130k CAD) in his investment accounts.

My sister's annual total costs is $35k CAD while my brother's is $30k CAD. The sponsor already transferred $40k CAD to my sister's student account and will do almost the same for my brother before the TRV application. We will attach the receipts for the sponsor's pre-payments. Do you guys think the sponsor's SOA would be satisfactory? The sponsor has no other dependents.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 4:26pm On Aug 19, 2015
IMHO, I think it's safer to apply now that she isn't in Canada yet than to apply when he'll have to indicate that his sister is in a uni that is not so far from his. We know that the VOs have all the information but they might not even scrutinise your brother's application to the extent of conducting research on his sister whose address will be stated as Nigeria anyway.
Even if her name pops up on their system, as long as the account is bulky enough to cover both of their expenses and still cater to the owner of the account, then go for it.
thesoj:
Question for the house: my sister is starting her MSc program in January and she already got her TRV, while my brother is yet to apply for his TRV to start a PGD program in January as well. They have the same sponsor with sufficient funds.

Do you guys think it creates a bad impression that my brother is trying to go to Canada at the same time as my sister? I am paranoid that the VO may see it as a desperate attempt to go with my sister. Fyi their schools are 550km apart. Would it look better if he deferred his admission to May (but still apply for TRV in September)?

Abeg I need your opinion please @deedee0 @tnuola @Team12 @teesboy @HayqinsbFX @richcasey @berexio1 @SeraSera, @Graviton2 @TheBae @ayooluwatoni
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by thesoj: 4:30pm On Aug 19, 2015
@TheBae thanks for your response. We will use my sister's Naija address given that she'll be in Naija while my bro applies. The thing is that the sponsor will mention in his letter that he is also sponsoring my sister, so the VO will know.

I don't think the bolded is necessary. I think it's too much information. Let's see what others think about that.

Don't use an agent. You or your cousin should read this thread religiously and you will be become more knowledgeable than any agent. This would help you personalize your application.

Staying with your cousin won't reduce your tuition, but would reduce your living costs (zero rent).

Please endeavor to read the thread and most of your questions will automatically be answered.

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 4:38pm On Aug 19, 2015
You have no punctuation in your question(s). There are a couple of typos that make it difficult to understand.
From what I understand, my answers are as follows;
You can process your visa by yourself. This thread will provide you with all the information you need. We're all here to help you if you can phrase your questions correctly. If you are too busy, you can get a reputable agent if you please.
About tuition, no, your fees will not reduce because you're going to live with your cousin

I think with regards to the finance just do the school transfer and include all payment receipts so you do not have to try so hard explaining the lodgement in his domiciliary account but more importantly please ensure his program represents academic progression (Postgradute or Masters) and is closely related to his UG + a carefully worded sponsor's letter since this is Five Eye Country 2015 applicant number two. i wish him success in his application.

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by thesoj: 5:13pm On Aug 19, 2015
While I initially considered this strategy, I realized that it could backfire significantly if the VO finds out that the sponsor is sponsoring my sister but didn't state it. I read on one of the CIC documents that the sponsor should state how many dependents he/she has, in which case it would reduce ambiguity to state the financial commitment to each dependent.

So sorry to hear that boss sad. Once you pick up the documents, Let us know the reasons for the delay and we can all brainstorm to see how to tackle it. What were the reasons for the first delay?
