I remember watching the SA ambassador to naija as he was being grilled on ChannelsTV by I think Chamberlain Usor, the man was only grunting and rubbing his over-sized belly dumbly while being treated to verbal assaults from the presenter,he couldnt counter any of the questions, word games and innuedos thrown at him and his country.I could only pity the f00lish man for being a dumb southie. |

agaugust: Ag The same crap over and over So what if the Airforce runs the Lynx? We have them and they are operational - unlike yours which are all non-operational. Hind is cheap trash - that is why there are lots of them. And the fact remains that Nigeria has ZERO attack helicopters. Nope, as has been proven ages ago on this thread they used moodern Hind. Alpha jet cannot deploy PGM's nor can it engage in missile armed air-to air combat. End of story What drones? We have seen no such info of the drones that you claim. You see! This is why you refuse to list your "400 modern units"... they comprise of the Cobra that can be penetrated by a round from an R4 and a BTR of which you have around 50.... the rest are ancient platforms. I will demand you to explain your statements if they are not true or false. Do not make statements that you are not prepared to defend. Now, you said a lack of amphibious vehicles makes the SANDF obsolete. State how and why, as well as list an occasion where amphibious vehicals crossing a river have played a decisive role in combat. |

Henry120: 1. A-darter is a full generation ahead of your missile. Can do off-bore targeting, is largely immune to countermeasures and can pull 100G turns. It is utterly superior. 2. No, you have 9-10 since 2 or 3 of your F-7s have crashed Last i checked 14 4th Gen Gripen is better than 10 3.5 gen F7's No Gripen have been grounded and we have more Gripen pilots (in 2013) than you have F7s in total And yea, actually, there are multiple articles outlining the MASSIVE problem that the NAAF has with keeping its Jets in the air. 3. There is absolutely ZERO evidence to suggest that pur Grip pilots are not combat qualified. If you wish to make that assertion then you must provide proof - or else you are simply trolling Yet again we see henry120 resorting to his time honored tactics - ignore all the evidence that doesnt suit him, and repeate the same thing over and over in the hopes that he will convince himself that its true. Truly pathetic 3 Likes |

So a South African defence publisher/writer states that these initial Seeker 400's wont be going to the SAAF first (from what he's heard), but to another branch of the SANDF. But SAAF aquisition of Seeker 400's still going ahead. Going to the Army first i guess? Will have to wait a bit and see.

South Africa's Shoprite Holdings, Africa's biggest retailer by sales, will open nearly twice as many stores on the rest of the continent this year as in 2014, its chief executive, Whitey Basson, said on Tuesday. Nigeria will get 14 new stores in the next 20 months and Shoprite is building a distribution centre in the country, aiming to move goods faster as imports into Nigeria can be delayed in ports for up to three months or so, Basson said. Angola is the only other market large enough to justify a distribution centre in the next five years, he said. The supermarket operator is banking on rapid growth in markets such as Nigeria and Angola where it aims to change the shopping habits of Africa's rising middle class. The retailer, which also operates the Checkers grocery chain and OK Furniture, reported a 10.8 per cent rise in full-year earnings yesterday, buoyed by sales growth of 13.5 per cent in stores outside its home market. It plans to add another 35 stores this year to the 189 it has in the rest of Africa, hoping to improve on the 16 percent contribution that Africa ex-South Africa makes to its profits. Last year it opened 20 stores outside South Africa. “It usually takes three to five years for countries to change from pavement shopping to using supermarkets,” Reuters quoted Basson, to have said in a presentation of the company's results. Hampered in South Africa by power outages, rising electricity costs and highly indebted consumers, Shoprite increased sales in its home market by stealing market share in its food business from rivals. The retailer, which began as a chain of eight stores in South Africa in 1979 and has had Basson at the helm throughout, now spans 15 countries across the continent, 13 of which posted stronger economic growth than South Africa last year. Shoprite said diluted headline earnings per share (EPS) totaled 772.9 cents in the year ended June, in line with the 773 cents estimate by Thomson Reuters StarMine SmartEstimates. Headline EPS is the most widely watched profit gauge in South Africa and strips out certain one-off items. Shoprite shares were up 1.2 per cent by 1245 GMT. The shares nearly doubled in price over the last five years as the company expanded but are down almost 5 percent since the start of this year on sluggish consumer demand in South Africa. The retailer said total sales rose 11.2 per cent to R113.7 billion ($8.80 billion) for the year. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/shoprite-to-open-14-new-stores-in-nigeria/217827/ |

Henry120: "Minute" according to you just to suit your ego. You know nothing yourself and it has been proven here many times Mr photo shop. Your PL-9 is not even in the league of our IRST's or A-Datar AAM's. The PL-9 cannot even be fired of bore so how the hell will it have a 90% kill ratio when a A-Datar or IRST can be fired to intercept the PL-9. Your PL-9 cannot even engage any missiles. The marlin bvr currently in development will use sub components from both Umkhonto and A-Datar so it will take less then 8 years for its completion. SAAB has offered the meteor to SAAF as a interim when it becomes available. The F-7 is not a 3.5gen multirole its not even a multirole fighter it is a poor nation airforce interceptor fact. Its systems and airframe is based on 1970 aircraft and by no means even considered a threat to any 4.5gen fighter like the Gripens. Your aircrafts systems are obsolete and that's a fact you won't even detect a Gripen. You only have 3 F-7 pilots and that's a fact, or can you prove it. We have posted here numerous times that we have over 14 pilots and its more then enough to handle all your obsolete F-7's. Your NA is so hopeless it needed Chad and SA mercenaries to turn the tide against boko 15 year old desert goat herders. You have no domestically manufactured AAM in Russia or any other country so stop talking shiit here the hole world knows this. The US/Nato won't sell you shiiit because of your poor human rights record, your Buhari with all his beggars couldn't even persuade the US Senate to over turn its LEAHY LAW. So you don't have no modern western systems unless you get second hand-hand me downs or you go get inferior Pak/Chinese systems. You have a dumb bomb nation airforce. 5 Likes |
