did someone help u to apply. av u registered with teleperformance. did u use same mail to apply for visa as teleperformance. did u type your gwf reference number rightly with teleperformance website.

cos at Abuja. u should receive a mail on dat day or d next day after ur visa interview

The email I used at the tls centre was different from the one I use for visa cos I had mistakenly registered on the lagos tls website instead of abuja. I corrected this when I went for biometrics but I had to use a different email address. I don't see why that should be a problem though. I sent them a message saying that my tracking status hasn't changed but they haven't replied.

ACS is the African & Caribbean Society, they'd ease you into everything. You can sign up with them (As well as the Nigerian Students Society or NSS) at the societies' Fair during welcome week.

What course are you starting? Plus Undergrad or Postgrad?

I studied Mech. Eng.
thanks for that, post grad MBA. Am still searching for a suitable private accommodation around. Any idea on that

@bidosko...Did you apply at the Victoria Island centre? And was your date of application, the day you had your biometrics too? So sorry for the questions, as I am a bit anxious, I also applied online on the 4th of August, and went for biometrics & interview on the 6th of August. My application is still at Stage 3. Decision hasn't been made yet.

Hope my case isn't different oooo... Just a worried sister

Commenting on this wing of the forum for the 1st time and I must commend everyone for their helpful contributions.
I applied @ ikeja, my interview date was on the 4th I mean. The letter that came together with my passport was dated 14th it means it took 10days. When I didn't get a reply from them, I had to send an email to ukvi to check the status of my app in which they replied (that was ystdy)b4 Tls later sent me a mail that decision as been made. Maximum 15days if u don't get a mail, you can contact ukvi directly to know the status of ur app

Cerebrospinal meningitis vaccine csm is mandatory for all international student coming to study in UK, according to UK rules. They ask that everyone should be vaccinated 2 weeks before coming to the UK, it is not a request from schools but the UK rule. Although I don't know whether they ask, but I think its for ur safety.

Thanks for the info still, and best of luck tomorrow.

No worries man. Well it depends on your budget tbh. are you looking for a shared house? or a one bedroom flat? There's an agency that does (quite luxurious, relatively neater) shared houses for affordable prices, they also have some 1 & 2 bedroom flats. their website is jnrproperties.co.uk.

You could also check rightmove.co.uk or zoopla.co.uk.

Really? You must be vaccinated two weeks before you enter. Well I am sorry I won't do that. I have been vaccinated about four years ago and it lasts for 10 years if I still remember my immunization studies. I am not about to overload myself with unnecessary vaccines after taking csm, hep b, t.t and yellow fever vaccines. Besides I have a yellow card, they had better honor that.

For those who want to take their meningitis shot, go to any health center or the community health department of any government hospital (where they immunize babies) and ask for it. They would probably tell you to get a card and pay about 100-300 naira then you take the card to the federal ministry of health office at any federal secretariat to get a yellow card.

I hope that advice works in most states.

Ikeja centre is definitely faster than Victoria Island from other people's experiences. Will wait till Monday them, hopefully there will be good news. Thanks for the info.

Hello house I have learnt a lot from this forum and I appreciate all of you.

I need clarification on what exchange rates the BHC use to convert our naira to pounds because to be frank my tuition fee is in the sky but I have tried to raise the sum along with the maintenance fee. On getting to my agent's office today they used N330 per GBP and that left me with a deficit of about N71000. I have completed my 28day wait and I am due for a visa interview next week. Please I need your sincere contributions. Thanks.

I think your agent used the worst ever case scenario. The BHC converts naira to pounds according to the day's rate on http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/.

They use the exchange rate of the day on which you submit(ted) your application.

It's always advisable to put a little bit over the amount to adjust for fluctuations, I'm guessing that's what your agent did.

For today's rate, 1 pound is equivalent to 316.24 Naira. Just checked Oanda.

Thank you very much. I used 320 before sourcing for the funds and I have since been topping it with minor inflows. I just hope it doesn't go north again.

There appears to be some hysteria about the Meningitis inoculation.

The latest guidelines to universities and students strongly suggest immunization.
I can not find in the immigration rules any requirement for this.

So the place for accurate information is the admissions office of your university.
Do not rely on speculation, check with your school who may have their own regulations.

From all the application processes, it wasn't stated anywhere that these vaccines are compulsory, it would have been indicated. I think it's a personal thing. Am even still trying to locate where it is mandatory to have a yellow card prior to departure.

Please can someone advise? Thank you.

The meningitis vaccine is not compulsory as no embassy or immigration rules required it, but UK health department states that its necessary for international immigrants in order to protected by certain diseases. U can Google UK department of health for details.
