I dont think you read my previous posts closely. The contention is not whether the company belongs to him or not -- it is clear that he is a part owner. I am saying that owning the company doesn't mean he should write his SOP on company letterhead (though he can in the legal sense).

If I were the OP, I would write my SOP on a regular paper, then I would get my aunt to write a letter on company letterhead describing how my education in Canada would help the company. The aunty would also emphasize my part-ownership of said company and whatever else needs to be said about my involvement in the company.

Anyways @Thomby2k12, whatever you decide won't be a deal breaker. Just giving my two cents.

Now ur talking. Ur advice is seconded in this case

Wow! Part 8!!!. This thread played a huge part in visa application. i didn't pay a dime to any agent throughout the process of travelling to canada, this thread led me all the way to Canada. If anyone here is resuming in September at Fanshawe college or Western University, please mail me, I could help settling in. Its kind of my way of giving back to this thread.

@thesoj, @TheBae and @berexio1, thank you all your responses and pieces of advice on my questions.

I will write the SOP on a regular paper, and use the company's SOA and CAC documents to tackle the personal assets issue.

Thanks a lot.

Hello house please I need urgent response from many @thesoj and others. Was thinking about centennial fast track diploma until today when I saw a graduate certificate program in Fanshawe college for Jan.for practical element of mechanical engineering, please note that I'm a graduate of mechanical engineering and I work with an engineering firm. I was refused on 17th of August dues to 4 things which I posted earlier!

I planning to put in new application against jan asap as Humber doesn't have jan intake for the course I applied for till September!
Is it true that Fanshawe college only take 500cad as tuition deposite. I need response ooooo
Thanks

Bros, your major reasons for denial are everthing else but Travel History
Edit* so I'm glad you're looking at other programs. Sorry about your previous delay
oppytexu:
Hello house! I posted about my refusal the last time. Attached below are the VO reason for refusal and sincerely I can't really picture the real reason except for travel history... Also I attached the list of documents submitted! Just need guidelines applying to another school for winter on Monday! Please I need advise on how to tackle the reasons Thanks

Please can you explain the everything else? I understand travel history, personal asest which I have a land worth of 1m and salary account worth 800k plus fixed deposit of 500k.
I still understand purpose of visit due to length of the visit.
Then family ties in Candan and home country is what I'm worried about coz My immediate elder bro traveled to canada in May and left in June for conference with all travelled doc included in my doc. Please help ooo
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 6:34pm On Aug 22, 2015
The point is that Travel History is the least of your worries.
IMO, Purpose of Visit means they do not beleive you're actually going to study or they just are not even comfortable with your course at all to begin with so you need to find out why and fix that first. Does your program of study reflect academic progession in the same field as your UG?
As for the others, how old are you? Are you married? Do you have a good job here and do you have a study leave letter (depending on how long you have worked there)? Depending plon your age, they may feel like you dont have enough assets and finances. Did you write a good SOP?
Give details that can enable people here help you out

Well I'm not married! I graduated in 2014 sept by my certificate but being working since March due to school issues! I studied mechanical engineering here and I was going for advance diploma in mechanical engineering a 3 years program but now I'm thinking of changing to element in mechanical engineering a graduate certificate program for one year . I have only work for one year plus but I have a study leave letter with certain percentage of pay for the years absence. I'm 28yrs old! The company I work with is a owned by a cousin dou it's not stated in the sop. Sop was about my life and pAssion for change in Nigeria and sponsor by my brother and mom(family).
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:01pm On Aug 22, 2015
^^^ I'm in no way an expert but here is my humble advice.
@oppytexu Do away with that 3-year sham course.
You will need a very tight SOP explaing why you finished uni at that age, explain the school issues and why you haven't had much work experience. Your SOP needs to address your study gap which will in turn explain why you have that balance in your SOA (It's not so low but they obviously expected more). Use your family members here, asset and study leave to your advantage (even though they won't buy it cos you've worked there for just a year. Let your cousin/boss explain how indispensable you are to the company in a reference letter). Package well and ask the elders here for help doing that. Good luck

2 or 3 pages at most is sufficient. If I were you, I'd do 2pgs to properly address all possible issues that may arise. Don't leave any stone unturned. These VOs can guess/assume the worst things so leave no chance for ambiguity

@oppytexu
I second @TheBae's opinion. In particular, do away with any fast track advanced diploma program that is not a PGD, Post Degree Diploma, or Graduate Certificate. This is because the VO might automatically refuse the application for "Purpose of Visit" given that an advanced diploma (even if it fast track) is below a BSc (which you already have).

Per length of SOP, I usually advice sticking to nothing more than two pages unless you are an exceptionally engaging writer. 500-700 words (a page to a page and half) is ideal but I realize that some applicants' personal stories may require more than that. Just make sure it is clear, concise, persuasive, engaging, and not boring to read.

Gurus in the house, I'm a co-director of a company and my aunt the managing director; can I use the company as part of my personal asset?

Also can I use the company's letterhead to write my SOP?
A very plain A4 sheet of paper will suffice for the LOE / SOP oga and that is what it should be,no need to try so hard by using the company letterhead paper but do the following

include
CAC Certificate
Form CO2 (Share Allotment)
Form CO7 (particulars of directors)
Memorandum and articles of association (optional)
A formal letter of introduction stating position and salary(company letterhead)
A leave letter for study duration + possibly it should state that your salary would be paid partially or in full (company letter head)
Company tax clearance (optional)
Auditors report (if available but optional)
Note: the company tax clearance + auditors report lends credence and shows that it is a credible company not a start-up + company statement of account is most relevant if you are a signatory to the account.

Also, doing some quick Google searches should help you narrow down schools. In addition, contact @Gu2015, he/she is a Nairalander starting a Mechanical Engineering PhD in Canada this fall; I found his/her Nairaland post on this thread by entering the search phrase " "mechanical engineering" phd canada nairaland" (without the the outermost inverted commas) into Google. You can find similar info through google as well. Best.

3years advance Diploma in Humber college.. Note I'm a graduate of mechanical engineering ... I have already gotten the admission before I know 3years is much more for me
some contributors and i have been like town criers in the market square saying repeatedly and advised applicants that if you know you have completed a 4-year degree program do not even touch an advanced diploma program (2 years or 3 years) with a pole even though some peeps have been fortunate to get approval for it, most VOs do not see it as academic progression from a BSc which when translated to CIC english means refusal for purpose of visit. So if you want to take that chance the decision is entirely yours to make. A postgraduate program or Masters + relevant documents will certainly increase your chances of success.

It is difficult to answer your question because only you know why you picked your pastor/fellowship leader to write this reference letter for your TRV application. Why not draft something up and give to the recommender to modify and then sign?

I'm not exactly sure if I know how your pastor's recommendation letter could help your TRV application. If you can share with the house why you chose him/her as a recommender, then maybe we would be able to brainstorm ideas for what the letter should contain.

ddestiny:
Hello house, please what can a pastor/house fellowship leader write as a recommendation/reference letter unbehalf of a TRV applicant ?. The applicant is an Assistant House Felowship Leader that want to submit his Study Visa application next week and want to submit the letter along with the package or does anyoune has a sample of such letter ?. Awaiting your usual prompt responses/contribution.
