So because there's no running water in Daura and Otta as you claim, that justifies Otuoke from not having running water too?

You're very funny!
if you get realiable information now that there is no portable water in daura, who will you blame

Blame the Local govt chairman.

After all it isn't Buhari's duty to see Daura gets potable water supply, nor was it GEJ's duty to see that Otuoke got potable water supply......it is the duty of the State Governor, the LG chairman, the State Water Board and the State Commissioners in charge of Water and Rural Development...to see that these areas get water.

Or do you expect the President to be micromanaging?

I am not a fan of Jona....I am even happy he lost the last election....but even he should not be doing other's work for them.
Water is in the exclusive legislative list, underwhich the FG has power.

So says the dumass wailers.

Not everything should be politicise. We are talking about one of the essence of life here (water). The water has been polluted due to oil spillage. It is the duty of the FG to clean it.

Who is to be blame? APC?

Well, you are not a resident of the said community because if you do, you won't type like this.

Then why do we have state water boards, and such?

I get what you are trying to say....but carrying the argument further risks us coming to the conclusion that we should do away with LGA's and states and even regions and run everything from Abuja (a form of unitary govt that even goes beyond what Ironsi wanted).

One of the things that annoys me about governance in Nigeria is the laziness of the whole LG setup. Which is why I wonder how true federalism would work in Nigeria...when under the potted version we are practising....some people do not want to do their jobs.

Democracy demands hard work....from both followers and leaders.

P.S...Not only in Nigeria. In Obama's village, shortly after he was elected in 2008....someone from the village told BBC that he hopes Obama would construct a road for the village.(As if Obama is also the district head/provincial governor of the region).

Jonathan was a failure. When Amaechi got aid from an international organization to boost the supply of water in Rivers State, Okonjo-Iweala refused to sign the necessary documents for its take off.

....Buhari ruled Nigeria twice? I'm only aware of when he was the military head of state or are u counting his present tenure? If you are, then I'm so dissapointed....
But even if Buhari has ruled this country for 10 times what about the Ogoni clean up Buhari just implemented? Are you aware that document was on jonathan's table for year? Is Buhari from Niger Delta?
You are here defending a man that couldn't even provide water for his people.

May your Enemies come and repair your house for you.....

stop being silly, oil spillage could have occurred recently.

it is wrong to ask anyone in 21st century to survive on water from river.

the local government, has the responsibility to provide water.

know when to draw the line between responsibilities of each tier of government

The real reason they don't have portable Water is due to pollution by the oil companies. It is the federal govt duty to ensure the oil companies clean up their mess.

For 16 years Jonathan was in politics, spending the first 8 years as Deputy Governor, Acting Governor and Governor of Bayelsa State. What did he do for his homestate? When he was in Abuja, what did he do? During his stay in Bayelsa, the state was it connected to the national grid? Bishop Mike Okonkwo has said it that Jonathan has a spell.
Re: Water Scarcity Hits Jonathan’s Otuoke by kenny987(f): 2:09pm On Aug 23, 2015
Call me tribalist or anything but there is no way I will enter an influential office not to talk of the highest office in the land and my people/hometown will not feel the difference. This is where I fault GEJ. He was busy chasing after shadows while leaving his own backyard to rot when he'll still go back to the same place. Trying to please others and allowing a few jeopardise his government in the name of patronage earned him nothing and he should have seen the writing on the wall. If he had at least taken care of his region he'd have been even more celebrated while not deliberately sidelining others.
