Many of us lives in this earth wondering about some questions about this earth but we can't provide answers to. Even many of us don't care about these questions so far we are live to see another day, and many of us cares but are also scared to wonder or ask.
But whichever class you fall to it will be fun for you all to know this, apparently we don't know how come there's oxygen and liquid water on this planet meanwhile the neighboring planets have no such.
So what if all of a sudden all the oxygen leaves our beautiful earth what will happen?

1- Everyone at the beach would immediately get sunburn

2- The daytime sky would becomes dark

3- metals on contact would melt and weld together

4- Earth crust would crumble as oxygen makes 45% of the earth crust.

5- Everyone's inner ear would explode because we would loose 21% of air pressure.

6- Every building made out of concrete would collapsed as oxygen serves as binder

7- Water is 1/3 oxygen hence the hydrogen would turned to gaseous and moved up till it moves into space

Don't be quick to assume that, of course there might be casualties but human beings will try to survive it by creating another measure to survive. Are you aware of the project embarked on by NASA to make the red planet favourable for human existence ? That's human beings for you we would try to survive

Actually I disagree because our physiology at this moment can only work with oxygen for respiration and metabolism any other gases might be harmful or not just work. And mind you our atmosphere comprise of 21% oxygen 78% nitrogen the 1% is argon and trace so which other gas are you talking about

We could start breathing in Nitrogen, don't underestimate the zeal for survival. Humans will find a way, maybe a very minute percentage. Just a guess....

That's a funny guess believe me nitrogen won't work with human system. Try to check on cellular respiration you will get a better understanding of this. Though I don't disagree that human would try to survive that's sure.

Except if the process of oxygen extinction is considerably slow enough to allow such adaptation. However, the picture painted by the op seems to describe an instantaneous occurrence which will ultimately bring an end, not only to life but, this planet as we know it.

I don't agree totally with you about the ultimately bring an end. Of course there would be huge casualties but human race would still survive and find alternative methods to survive. A short term measure using oxygen producing machines and long term measure are you aware that some organisms produce oxygen for co2?

The implication is that even the oxygen making machines wouldn't be able to get raw materials to extract oxygen from, since oxygen in all its forms, free and combined, has ceased to exist, even CO2. As it stands now, life can only exist with oxygen. Please note, it's not going to be about human alone, but all life forms.

You misunderstood me let me descant more on that when there's no more oxygen human brain, heart and cells can survive for some periods which varies with human according to the health of our brain and heart. Even when there's anoxia the brain will degrade gradually so during this period some persons might figure out what the problem is though might be few. And hence use oxygen machine to survive till they figure other measures and yes other animals might not survive it. Talking about c02 that would be in huge amount and in long term other small organisms can be employed to produce oxygen this is just a logical suggestion of course other measure could be employ but human would survive it
