Congratulations cheesy
I'm so happy for you & I am using this your success story as a point of contact to what I also desire.
Pls could u guide me on how it all started cos I'm planning to go for my MSC in Canada also next year by the grace of God. I want to apply to University of British Colombia, Vancouver for MEng. In Mining Engineering.
Can you be my private tutor?

Lol. Thank you.

I'm still learning though.

I think it would be a lot easier, getting someone in/going to your prospective school to explain better. I'm sure there are people in UBC here, and they'd be willing to help.

That asides, I can also help with the little I know though.

All the Best!

Please house I am new here, I want to apply for a study permit. I have 2 sponsors, 1 of my sponsors has a balance of 1.9m but with cash inflow and outflow of over 60m in the last 6 months while the other have a closing balance of 2.1m with an inflow and outflow of over 20m over the last 6 months. Please house is this ok to apply as all effort to beef up d account has not really yielded result due to d current economic situation. This is d only thing delaying my application. Pls note that both sponsors av d same surname as me. Kindly advise if I should just submit it like dat or still keep waiting because I heard d earlier the better to avoid rush hour. I am for January. Thanks

It depends on how much your tuition is. You are required to show a minimum of #10,000 CAD in addition to your tuition.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Canadapikin: 8:39am On Sep 12, 2015
My tuition is $14200 yearly. My concern is, is the closing balance very important as both accounts are running account. I mean accounts that are very active i.e money flows through it steadily so it's not like a bulk lodgement once in a while. Thanks

Hello house, can someone pls advise better.having applied and secured two admission frm two colleges for postgraduate jan2016 intake.my sponsor insist getting two years prgm is better off a year progm.he advise I turned it down and seek for two years.pls applying these time against jan 2016 for a new application not look so late.your advise wl b appreciated.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by ralfudoh(m): 9:21am On Sep 12, 2015
You can still apply to some colleges but you might end up finding yourself in the rush hour. So these are my suggestions, apply to a school with two years program, while you are waiting for their offer, you use one of the colleges now and process your visa and by the time you get to canny you can switch schools. Or alternatively you can do two different one year programs with a view to get your post graduate work permit.

I ensured my flight didn't go through the US but you need a US (transit) visa or so if your flight passes through US.

@Team12 will be in a better position to address this issue I think. Her flight passed through Chicago and she obtained her US visa before leaving Nigeria.

Hi everyone I need your help and advise. I was asked by the embassy to do a new passport and submit because the old one was damaged and I was given 14 days I had to travel to Abuja to do it and I can only get it on Monday and submit to Vfs on Tuesday while Wednesday is the deadline. Submit the new passport on Tuesday as planned but try to submit it on monday if you collect it early and send an email ASAP explaining the slight delay in obtaining the new passport + the fact that it will be enroute to their office on tuesday via VFS.

@dreamsoso you need a US visa to transit thru the US. U can either apply for a transit visa or a normal visit visa (B1/B2). We applied for the normal visit visa and got 2 years...I think that's their default visa duration...

With less than 40 pages, you should definitely be able to fit it all your proof of funds documents in a single 4MB document.

But you gast play with your scanner settings and experiment with different image/pdf compression algorithms. In the worst case, just scan using black&white (not grayscale or color) at 300dpi... you might be able to even compress the resulting pdf further without significant loss of clarity. But if you can scan in color or grayscale and still fit it in 4MB, then make sure you do that. Or you can try 600dpi in black&white. You could also try 200dpi and see how the image quality looks. You could also scan everything at 600dpi color and then use some software like Adobe Acrobat Pro (or Photoshop) to change to black and white and reduce to a lower dpi, and then compress further.

wow! thank you. i will start experimenting with that immediately. but let me get something clear. every single document has a max size limit of 4mb or all documents together should have a max limit of 4mb?

Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja
Silverbird Entertainment Centre.
Plot 1161, Memorial Drive, 2nd Floor
Central Business District, Abuja

There is a Canada VFS office in Abuja, that is the address above. You can send your passport from there but ensure the Letter from CIC asking for the New Passport and possibly your VFS receipt from your application submission is handy and the VFS charge for secure transmission of passport to Canada High Commission in Accra @ the request of the Visa Office is NGN 7,690.
