The Code of Conduct Tribunal has arraigned about six staff of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of Kano State for refusal to declare their assets to the public.

The report issued by the Publicity Department of the Code of Conduct Tribunal recently noted that those accused include: M. A. Maishanu, Ahmad M. Mu’azu, Alkasim S. Ajumawa, Mustapha M. R. Gado, Gambo Ado and Fatima Bello Aliyu. The report added that the lead prosecutor from the Code of Conduct Bureau, Rakiya H. Bashir told the court in Abuja that the case involves six public servants in Kano State for non-declaration of assets in a single charge which she sort the indulgence of the court to orally amend.

“We pray to this honourable court to oblige us the opportunity to disjoint charges against the six accused persons as contained in the CCB & T Act, Section 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code and under the inherent Jurisdiction,” Bashir cited.

The Tribunal Chairman, Danladi Yakub Umar alongside an honourable member, Atedze William Agwadza granted the prayers, but frowned at the legal team from the Code of Conduct Bureau for not being adequately prepared before filing their case; thereby, wasting the time of the accused, who had to travel to Abuja for the case. The accused persons opted to represent themselves as they were retirees with no means to seek for the services of a lawyer and at that the prosecutor sought for adjournment, so as to enable the accused get a defence counsel which was granted.

People always ask me when i will be returning to Nigeria, my answer to them is "Never".
You have your president who wasted time in declaring his assets and when he finally did, he declared a false asset.
Why not go arrest the president first before arresting innocent civil servants ??

I will forever remain a slave in America where there is law & orderliness than come back to my home country where every rich man is above the law.

What's the outcome of Amechi's trial ??What of Sariki ?? Not guilty.
This people will go to court just to deceive ignorant Nigerians and at the end of the day, they will go home free.
Nigeria is just cursed.
