Meanwhile Valencia was in beast mode today, hope he continues with this form n I can't really blame Darmian, he was cautious hence the reason he rarely bombed forward today. |

sinizia:Mata played in the hole against PSV and dat was his poorest game so far. Leave Mata on the wings. And play Herrera in the hole instead. With Schneiderlin and Carrick/Bastian to cover. But all still rests solely on Rooney getting benched! |

Well, up till now was just child's play. The real test starts with Wolfsburg, Everton then Arsenal. |

Bring on Wolfsburg. A must win match. |

AdeLaNa1: yeah! i actually meant, if we could play that formation more. if they play series of games they would be more fluid and positive than what we have now. But i know keeping Rooney on the bench will be hard for oga Gaal to do. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Dantedasz(m): 7:50pm On Sep 26, 2015 |
Rooney needs to sit on the bench or drop deeper into midfield. Simple. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 7:52pm On Sep 26, 2015 |
Dantedasz: Well, no, he cant drop into midfield because that is the strongest area of the squad. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 7:58pm On Sep 26, 2015 |
codedguy1: gaal can't put rooney on the bench.....rooney is his captain! that said, we are not 100% effective with rooney as a #10. mata isn't a right winger. we are asking a lot from the little fella to protect the RB when we all know he neither has the pace nor the power to go up and down the wing. mata's best position would be behind martial but then where would that leave rooney? it's a huge conundrum. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by codedguy1(m): 8:29pm On Sep 26, 2015 |
coogar: Its a shame! Herrera is the one suffering for Rooneys status as a captain that must play. Mata has been shunted to the RW just to accommodate him. It annoying because he does not put in the performances of a player that is worth the sacrifices or change. Depay also needs his ears pulled and s real talking to, he needs to make quick decisions in the final third, but I believe he will come good. Martial is a very good buy, I must confess. Everyone did their jobs fairly well today. Its was Sunderland though! |

Man United really played 2geda as a team today thanks to Mata the man of the match, an assist and a goal.... |

Good to see Rooney scored his first 'accepted goal' because he has scored before. Rooney now has 5 goals overall this season and he could hit 30 if he stays fit. He has 80% of his fitness back. It was always a matter of time. Same with many big players who had a slow start. Rooney makes our attack matured. Gave us so much option with lots of forward play today. With his rediscovery of his pacing forward with the ball, we now have a front with three men who could burst forward some yards in the final third. With his performance midweek and today, he has wholy claimed the number 10 position for the rest of the season. I am not talking of the goal but his overall play. Valencia is our unsong hero. Good game from Martial. Memphis decision making needs to improve. Ashley Young had a good day. Good to see Phil Jones. The first time this season I saw a United player won an aerial duel so neatly even though it was 60-40 in favour of the opponent. He has quick passes to complement. He doesn't need a touch of the ball to make a pass, even if it's a long pass. Good to be on top again. Lest I forget, Chelsea fans can rejoice. Hazard's form is almost fully back. He ran the show today. Sanchez was a beast. 2 Likes |

We hit 7 shots on target today. 12 shots overall. 8 chances created. 3 unreplied goals. This is the kind of stats you get when Rooney is hitting form and going into his element. I pray he avoids injuries because I know Rooney will do us proud. 1 Like |

Why do people lie about Rooney a lot. Is that a dinner to some preople? They said Rooney was losing possession? Dispossessed/Unsuccessful touch Rooney 3/1 Memphis 7/3 Martial 3/1 Mata 2/2 Schweinsteiger 2/0 Darmian 1/1 1 Like |

See you guys on Wednesday. The amount of hatred towards Rooney on this thread is irritating. Against Ipswich, Herrera couldn't offer half of what Rooney offered today. He was not even seen. But Rooney had to blamed for having a good day. Na wao. 1 Like |

Before I go : ...... 26/09/2015 18:51, Report by Callum Matthews WAYNE ROONEY: MEMPHIS'S GOAL WAS MASSIVE Wayne Rooney believes Memphis’s first Barclays Premier League goal - scored on the stroke of half-time - ‘was massive’ in helping Manchester United secure all three points in Saturday’s 3-0 win against Sunderland. Rooney doubled the lead by opening his league account for 2015/16 just after the break before Juan Mata drilled home in injury time to seal the victory as the Reds moved to the top of the table. However, the captain admitted that United found the first half difficult, telling MUTV: “It was tough. We knew that from last season and Newcastle earlier in the season; they make it difficult, put bodies behind the ball and defend with their lives. They're trying to stay in the league. “Memphis's goal before half-time was a massive goal for us,” added Rooney. “If we didn’t get that, Sunderland had something to fight for and something to hold on to. It gave us a little bit more space in the second half and we played some good stuff and created some chances. In the end it was quite comfortable and a good win.” Rooney knocked home Anthony Martial’s cross in the first minute of the second half to score in England's top flight for the first time this season. “I wasn’t worried. It’s my fifth goal of the season for United and I’ve scored for England so it was just about getting off the mark in the league. Hopefully everyone will concentrate on me playing my football now and I’ll enjoy it.” The captain was also full of praise for his provider after Martial's ‘incredible’ start to life at United. “He’s been incredible. He’s a young lad, we have to remember that. I think he’ll be a big player for us this season and in the future but we need to let him enjoy his football and I’m sure he’ll have magic moments for us.” Rooney also declared the United players are enjoying their football at the moment: "We know it’s a massive season for us, with being back in Europe as well, and after the Newcastle result it was always going to be edgy. “But we’ve got over the Newcastle and Swansea games now and we’re playing some good stuff and creating some good chances. You can see the smiles on the lads' faces so we’re enjoying it. Hopefully the form continues and we carry on picking up points.” United went top for the first time under Louis van Gaal and Rooney said: “That’s what we’re all playing for, being number one at the end of the season, and it’s nice to be there now. But there’s a long way to go, it’s still early days and we have to keep working hard to make sure we can stay there or finish there at the end of the season.” |

Cristiano Ronaldo praises Man United star Wayne Rooney 13 hours ago "I miss playing with Rooney. Maybe we will play together again one day. "He was the kid of England, everyone loved him. He was so powerful I was calling him 'Pitbull.' The power of Wayne Rooney is his mentality and strength and he never stops. "He's a fantastic team player and he scores. He's a fantastic boy and he helped me a lot when he came to join us in Manchester." http://www.espnfc.com/barclays-premier-league/story/2631571 1 Like |
