firsttymum: Take your mind off it to avoid being sad all through your stay. I paid 225 per dollar with my GTB card throughout my stay in the US and it wasn't funny. I simply chanelled my energy to the reason why I was there and forgot everything about exchange rate in order to maintain my sanity. Before I left, I called Gtb customer care and told them I will never keep a kobo of mine in my accounts with them because of how we were ripped off by them whilst customers of other banks got better exchange rate. I made sure I carried out my threat upon arrival. Yeye bank. Never ever benefitted anything from them yet they kept taking from me by every means possible. 6 Likes |

Nogen:Maybe it's your threat that made them to reduce their rate, they are among the cheapest now @ #220. Sometimes I think it's even better to buy from black market and carry all our money, den pay up hospital and doctor asap, and still have less cash at hand. I rmber hubby buying dollar at #209 just about one week before I travelled, and when I wanted to buy, the rate was already abt #224. Who knows how much black market dey sell now? |

olokings: U shouldn't compare stanbic to those other banks jare - they r on another level... One thing you can't be corrected on right now though is your assertion on firsttymums state of mind, considering the below - lol firsttymum: @Nasadiva - congrats on the birth of ur lil one. Its good it turned out to be just one, not two or joint . May the blessings of God rest on him and you also. |

Agreed, no limit on pos and online purchases. Just cash withdrawals. I've used up to $2k online and $900 at POS. Worked both times. The only snag is the $50k per annum thingy - you shouldn't use more than this on all your cards. It can now be consolidated with BVN. olokings: |

In addition to PTA, I also plan to Process form A through UBA to pay my hospital fees since New Jersey gives bill break down for hospital fees at least besides doctors fees, no obgyn will give you a bill breakdown ahead of their services "gathered from my inquiries so far with New Jersey Hospitals" Form A charge for Medicals and school fees are based on the Cbn rate real time. This will cushion the effect of the fx inflation/naira depletion. God will help us my people! |

Hello dear I used form A last year for both hospital and doctor fees (el paso) - so you should be able to. These are the CBN requirements for processing medical payments: (i) Completed Form A (ii) A letter of reference from a specialist doctor, or a specialist hospital, in Nigeria. (iii) Travel documents including valid passport, visa and air ticket. (iv) Letter issued by the overseas specialist doctor stating the cost of treatment, maintenance, etc. It is generic for all banks. So just go to your account officer with both invoices and you should be fine. PS: I think I know you... We met briefly before I came back home. ozycy: |
