@zaynie, my dear we dey wait God o! 41+1 as at today. Baby is very big-3.8kg for my petite size. Dr says we have to wait to 42wks & if labour doesn't come naturally, then it will be CS cos she can't risk induction.

Whether CS or normal delivery, it will be easy for you.
CS saved my son's life. I insisted on it at the last moment when I was in labour due to induction at 38weeks. He was brought out but had already swallowed a lot of maternal blood. His stomach was pumped for 3 days! He also developed some things associated with babies that had a tough labour. I was only 6cm dilated and the Drs wanted me to hold on till I was 10. I'm glad I didnt wait. I just had a feeling something was wrong with him.

I healed pretty fast from the CS. In less than 6 weeks I was fully healed from my scars ( some ppl take longer to heal from tears). There was no inkling that I had CS and I had my son in my arms. Here I am, 3 years later having my second baby and hoping for a VBAC mainly becos I want to experience the whole stuff ( water breaking, pushing etc) but if push comes to shove I wont hesitate to have CS.

Lmao. I'm sorry I had to laff so hard @ fan directly facing d vjay. Reminds me of years ago when I had mine. I suffered cos my ignorant doc told me it was nothing that preg women are meant to have discharge. I switched hospitals when d silly lady loaded me with paracetamol( like dozens of it). Got to d new hospital d doc treated me and asked me to discard every pant used, kpekus with cd and treat oga too. I guess new methods of treatment are available now. Mine was more than 10yrs ago. Talk to ur doc. Also try to keep that place like gorimapa!! Lol. Don't know what else to add. Loll. Hugs
Eminya:

Kpekus has been a no no for me since July. I have discarded old pants, I sleep naked with my legs open and with a fan directly facing my vjay. I also use panty liners and wash myself with warm salty water.

Dont be scared. Induction usually works but in situations where it fails, the next thing is CS.

I was induce at 38wekks cos at 37 weeks my son was oligohydramnious ; his amniotic fluid was so low that it couldnt take him to the 40 weeks. Because he was also feeling uncomfortable in the tummy, it resulted in a sharp increase in my blood pressure which caused me to have Pregnancy Induced Hypertension PIH.
My bp had to be closely monitored cos if it overspiked and I went into labour I could have a convulsion. So for one week I was in the hospital to control my bp and wait for baby to enter 38 weeks. Once that happened, I was induced.
Before the hot drip, sth was inserted in my vagigi to ripen the cervix. Without feeling much pains I was 4 cm already. During that time I was still doing aproko in the labour ward, talking to mamas in labour, helping them to massage their back that the Dr found it hard to believe I was contracting sef.
One thing that I know went wrong was when the hot drip was inserted. The Dr joked that it shouldnt take long cos it seemed I dilated fast. He told the nurse to increase the drip by certain drops every 30 minutes buh this lady just rushed it. When my screams became too much the Dr had to come to me and was like this woman has been cooperating since morning, why is she behaving like this now. I pointed to the drip and asked him if it should be rushing like this. The Dr shouted at the nurse, closed off the drip and ordered them to give me a pain reliever. I slept off immediately. When I woke up, they wanted to resume the drip buh the dream I had when I was asleep was not good at all so I insisted on a CS.

I honestly believe that if that stewpid nurse had done the right thing, the induction would have gone on fine, the pain is much....yes but it is NOT unbearable. The problem with FTM is that we never imagine how much painful it is. Just bear in mind that having a baby is painful but at the end of that pain, you will have the most beautiful gift in your arms. It will make you withstand any pain....knowing that the pain is not in vain.
Our body was made for this.....

Baby's weight matters, yes. In Cutiereborn's case, Dr said she is small and her baby is big. I have seen really small women give birth to orobo babies o. Just put your trust in God.

@ Snr Modath, amen to the prayers but I'm sure you dont know that you are the one who made me stick to this thread. The one who always answered my questions cos you shared your story about having a repeat CS. When I first got my bfp, I was happy buh very scared....scared cos carrying the baby wasnt the problem, bringing him out was. You made me chill without even knowing it, You gave me hope that if my VBAC doesnt work, then CS is a fun option to look at. kiss. For that, I say thank you.

I am in no way discouraging anyone, but I know the kind of depression I fell into partly because I never prepared my mind for CS. And because of my MiL and husby, the way they alluded my stubborness to having CS cos they said I should leave the hospital and come home and I didnt listen to them.
My sisters on the other hand were happy that I chose CS cos while they were in the waiting room, they wheeled in a dead woman with a dead baby beside her. The woman had been in labour for over 48hrs and her inlaws rejected the CS option. This happened in a private hospital. Come and see fight between inlaws on that day. Father of the girl vs father of the man, mother vs mother. It took this incident for my husby to actually sign the consent form.
At times I felt like I failed myself but ....never again.
Induction is no big deal.
CS is no biggie.
At the end of the day, #mother alive......child alive wink.

Have you tried walking, I read that walking makes the baby engage faster. Besides from last week to this week is long enough for baby to engage.
Yes those pains could mean you are in labour.
Is your hospital private or public? Cos I never hear of this new rule of 3.8 kg o.
My MiL always had big babies with the smallest being like 4.3 and the biggest 4.9kg and she always had them herself but with massive tears sha.

Pineapple really works o, that my SiL that gave birth to a baby on Tuesday lost her mucus plug on Friday. She went for ANC on Monday and Dr said she wasnt contracting. Midwives advised her to eat pineapples. Na so she chop plenty pineapples so tey contraction started by 2am Tuesday morning. She gave birth at about 7pm that same day.
Wishing you the very best.

@zaynie,
With all this you have said, I'm pretty sure I was induced in my first pregnancy. I wasn't told but something was put in my vjayjay and I was given drip. It was because my baby was breathing fast and jumping [according to the doctor]

When the doctor came in the morning, he said thank God I delivered before daybreak if not, it would have been cs.

Thanks for sharing.

Wishing all pushing mamas, super safe delivery.

My BS:-

On 12th September, i was 40 wks 5days pregnant, i have been feeling pains but the kind of back pain i had around 9pm was different so i told DH i would go to the hospital the following day(Sunday) though my next ANC was Monday. Around 3am, Sunday morning, i heard this cork sound while on the bed and immediately i concluded my water had broken, about 5 minutes later, i went to pee and on returning to the bed, water gushed out, i woke DH and advised we head to the hospital (FTM things and as per what i don dey hear about the danger of first poop by the baby coming out immediately .....).

We got to the hospital with my things around 4:15am but i was being tossed up and down before i got a bed space as the only thing i told the nurses when asked why i came to the hospital was that my water broke. I was told to go look for a doctor to minute on my file that i should be admitted in the ANC ward and seeing a doctor at that time was difficult but God granted me favor and after about an hour i found a doctor, when he tested me,i was 5 cm gone but no serious contractions. I got a bed space and during the morning ward round( around 10am),the doctor on duty complained that the doctor who attended to me should have augmented my labor because when he also checked me,i was still 5cm, oxytocin was administered and the process began, by 2pm, i was contracting and the pleasure no be here, i just kept saying, God help me, Blood of Jesus( you know how e dey be when e reach d peak).

By 4 pm i was 7cm gone and taken to the delivery room but warned not to push or sit or poo poo that it wasn't yet time. From that time on, it was heaven on earth ,around 5:30pm the nurse came ,checked me and said i had catput( pronounced that way but not sure of the spelling) that i might have to deliver via CS. I started praying in my mind and my DH where he was ,he was told to get blood sample etc which he got but he kept destroying " last minute battle organized at the gate of my safe delivery".

There and then , a doctor kept coming 30-45 mins interval and kept checking me, at a point ,he said he was mild catput, that i can deliver myself. I felt like vomiting and pooing at the same time, around 8pm,i was 10cm and taken to the second stage labor room. The nurse told me to hold legs and forcefully push, God helped me,after about 6 pushes ,my joy came forth at 8 :05pm weighing 3.5.

It can only be God.

This undescribable yet amazing experience helped me appreciate my mother more.

Wow, awesome story. Congrats ma. God bless ur LO
Kai, can't wait to share my bs too. #teamNovember eyeing October sha

@zaynie ur story really inspired me to share my bs abt induction.
My EDD was 24 Aug but I decided to start my leave on the 10th of Aug. this is because I work in another town and I travel everyday even while I was pregnant. the distance is over an hour and the road is one of the worst road leading to a major town in this country. I still can't believe I went thru all dat while I was pregnant. I went for a long walk with Mil on the 11th and went for my ANC in the evening. the doc told me to come back in a weeks time after the normal discussions. when I got back home, the back pain i ecperienced was out of this world that i couldnt say my evening prayers even DH has to feed me and walk me to the bedroom that night. i woke up around 11:30 to wee and i saw this gush of hot liquid coming out like tap. I woke DH up and been a ftm we immediately went to the clinic with my baby things. the doctor checked me and told me that my water has broken and that I'm still closed. he said the contraction is very mild but I have to be admitted and monitored. I was admitted immediately and me and DH just they gist and watch film dey go. the baby's heart beat was tested at intervals and they still said I'm not contracting at all but baby is doing fine. in the morning, DH went to bring Mil and while he was away the doc came in while I was still watching my tv dey go. he said madam don't worry u won't even remember the tv in this room very soon. he beckon on d nurses to come in and they told me they av to pass a tablet into my Vijay. I said Oga pls let my hubby come back. he said madam this is abt you and the baby. they inserted the tablet ard 7am and the contractions begin catch me like menstrual pain. at around 11 they inserted another tab and told me they will be back by 3pm for another one and the last by 7pm. I begin do countdown but the pain wey I dey feel around 2pm was out of this world. the nurses said I'm not contracting at all judging by my Tommy. when i couldnt stand d pain DH went to the doc and he said if by 7pm there is no change they will av to do cs. My mummy Don turn Alfaress outside the hospital. At 3 pm I told this nurse i want to poo and they said I shouldn't go to the toilet. before u know it i don begin poo for the bed. the doc said he will check me for the last time before handing over to the next doc. upon checking me, he saw it dat I'm fully dilated and the head is almost coming out. I was wheeled to the delivery room and I pop out my Prince after 3 pushes at around 3:22pm.
Ever since I got pregnant my mum has turn to an Alfa because she knows I'm always very scared. even to take common vit c, na wahala. I will cry when taking injection during ANC self. so when she heard dat I'm in Labour she ran to the clinic and was praying in front of the Labour and delivery room. even when the nurses told her ive delivered she insisted on seeing me first. when the episiotomy was taking longer than necessar she was really scared and was shouting pls bring my daughter out. what happened to her? I thought you said she has given birth.
no one could believe dat I gave birth dat day cus my tommy was so small.
My bobo weighed 2.7 but if u see him now, even scale go dey fear him as him Don chop up and he is almost two months now.
so yea, induction is not bad at all.

comtem2011:
God has blessed me with a baby boy at Arne 12:45 am this morning. Even though I asked you people to pray for me and nobody offered a single word of prayer that I hv passed my edd without any sign. I still deem it fit to share my testimony. Though d devil rage but God of Living Faith took control and my baby is sharing the same birthday With Bishop Oyedepo as I ve prophesied from his conception not Knowing that God has stamped it.
Please don't talk like that. The fact no one typed a prayer doesn't mean no one said a prayer after reading your post.
Congratulations to you and welcome to your lo.
