hello my friend. What you want to do and be certain off is that the Cisco Certified Centres are training you on the most current CCNA material, that is ICND1 100-101 and ICND2 200-101. You also need to ask them if they are a legitimate school from the Cisco Netacademy.

Here is a list of schools that you can refer to. What part of Nigeria are you located in? Go to this website, as you can see here's a screenshot of some of the nearby schools in Jos.

What I would do personally is call around to verify with the schools that they have the latest material and are teaching the latest material. Ask if there is hands on lab work and ask to speak with the instructor and inquire if he has at minimum a CCNP.

The benefit of the conversion is that IPv4 addresses are 32-bits in length so when you convert from decimal to binary, you get 32 binary digits (I.e. 1s and 0s). The fame goes for IPv6 which is 128 bits. When converting from hexadecimal to binary you get 128 binary digits.

Being able to understand binary and hexadecimal is also important in the computing world so that's why I brought it up. Once you understand IP addressing, it will come as second nature to you. You won't even have to convert to binary anymore.

Hello bro, attached is an issue I am having. I am trying to configure RIP on ipv6. I am having issues with second router. Its telling me "rip not enabled" please how do I troubleshoot or what have I done wrong.

Good day Mr. Fulaman. Saw the advice you gave to someone about starting from brushing up on a+, network+ before CCNA and I took a cue from it. Bring a computer engineer at place of work, I just had to read up some theoretical nuggets on a+. Now I'm on network+ and I must say, I find it very interesting, the OSI model especially. I also learnt that binary to decimal conversion is sine qua non in IP addressing (remember I earlier asked why its important). Thank God I didn't skip that. Now I'm on IP address class range (I discover we use class C at workplace). In the book I'm reading they said "class a has a small network address but large host address, class B has a large network address, but each class B has a small amount of possible host address, and class C has a large network address and even smaller host address (254 at maximum).

I quite understand the host address part but the network address got me discombobulated, lolz.
What's network address?

I don't use dumps sorry. They are a very ineffective way to learn the material. What do you want to know about NAT, ACLs, Layer 2 switching, and VLANs?

When configuring IPv6 EIGRP, it's on an interface per interface basis so to say. You still want to initiate and enable the IPv6 uni-cast routing prior to configuring EIGRPv6.

Make sure that in addition to doing that, you assign a router-id to the router. E.G.

ipv6 router eigrp 1
router-id 2.2.2.2
no shutdown

And then on an interface, you want to call the always have the ipv6 eigrp 'as-number' configured (this is the asynchronous number). If we use the previous example where we initiate the IPv6 routing process for EIGRPv6, then an interface must call that exact same AS number so an example is this:

interface Serial0/0
no ip address
ipv6 address FE80::1 link-local
ipv6 address 2010:AB8::1/64
ipv6 enable
ipv6 eigrp 1
clock rate 2000000

As you can see when we created ipv6 router eigrp 1 (1 is the AS number). It is called again in the Serial0/0 interface. The interface is enabled for IPv6, but disabled for IPv4 (hence the no ip address configured on the interface). The interface (although it's not mandatory but it is recommended) is also assigned an IPv6 link-local address and an IPv6 address. Since the router is also the DCE, it's assigned a clock rate as well to feed the DTE. I hope that is a good explanation for you.

Don't be afraid to venture out of Abuja even though there are plenty of opportunities here. You just have to keep your head open. If there are openings in Lagos, you can take them, openings in P.H. you can take it too, openings in Bauchi, Sokoto, Jos, etc. try (I know it may be difficult). But do whatever it takes to get your foot in the door.

Did you make sure you enabled the router interface, with 'no shut'

e.g.

ipv6 router eigrp 1
no shut or no shutdown
router-id 1.1.1.1 (or w/e you want your router id to be).

It should work. Also instead of taking a picture with your phone, please use the snipping tool screenshot tool to capture a screenshot. What version of packet tracer are you using btw? Though all versions should work. You should be using version 6.2
