spyder880: You must not post the bad spot if indeed you want to showcase Okigwe. This is the bad spot at Owerri road near that beautiful filling station with fast food and hotel. Okigwe is a hilly town with lots of scenic beauty. I will like to see pictures of the hilly scenes and curvy snake road to Uturu. |

spyder880:How much will it cost to fill up that bad portion of this road?. How much is 30 bags of cement & 3 tipper load of both chippings/sand?. Our Polithiefians are not serious!.Are they?. 2 Likes |

investnow2013: I wasn't impressed with the quality of that major road when I visited Okigwe last year. Okorocha needs to do something about Owerri road as it houses major businesses in the town. It needs total reconstruction. What I saw in Orlu was 100x better. Orlu is now more developed than Okigwe by a wide margin. The town has a red soil type and hence quite unpleasant but still beautiful. |

asha80:Poor channelling of flood water in a sloppy or hilly road is an invitation to disaster!. The flood water coming down that hilly road should not be allowed to reach the low areas of that road without diversion, if not, the road will not last for more than 1 year!. Udo dili unu!

Truth be told, Okorocha's roads are China roads. I have said it countlessly that Okorocha should discontinue the fake free education and focus more on infrastructure, skill development, trade n industries. Education is suppose to be functional. Abagworo, you need to more objective in your analysis. It seems you support Okorocha blindly. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Ofodirinwa: You are very intelligent my dear. However, you have to know that Imo people are big economic players in both Aba n Onitsha. This is however not enough reason for the non industrialization of the state. The attitude of the people is a big factor here. Do they patronize local businesses or do they flock to other places to buy just for a difference of one naira or even no difference at all? Do Imo people invest in their state? I have seen Imo people who are doing nothing meaningful in Onitsha where I live. Why can't they go to their villages and become small scale farmers or businessmen. For the state to develop,we need to patronize local businesses. Imagine some one deciding to buy a bag of rice at Onitsha( a consumer) just because of 100 naira difference not minding the cost of transportation. So these micro things affect the macro level. 2 Likes |

adeitoro: I don't give a flying fckk about any Yoruba propagandist or whatever. I'm very informed and have had some interactions with Ikwerre. The majority say they're not Igbo. Actually, they don't qualify as such. I don't want to disparage anyone so I'll just stop at that . Why do you want them to be Igbo? |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Nobody: 9:47pm On Oct 14, 2015 |
Curlieweed: being Igbo is not voluntarily, nobody decides who is or who is not Igbo. It is a natural that people are grouped under a particular race based on various distinct trait and characteristics. Okey lets rephrase your question; why do you want Nigerians to ne black? 1 Like |

asha80: The road was not even completed. It looked abandoned for a reason. I guess the contractor was owed and he left the work uncompleted thereby leading to deterioration. I stopped to make good observation in Okigwe. The road needs to be re awarded and reconstructed from scratch. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Abagworo(m): 10:24pm On Oct 14, 2015 |
Pchidexy: Igboland is for all Igbos and so is Nigeria for all Nigerians. No part can be jack of all trade as we complement each others defect. We in Rivers State travel to Aba to buy most of our stuffs and it is same with Imo, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River. We all buy from Aba. However nobody travels from Imo to Aba or Port Harcourt for fun. Instead we from Rivers and Abia travel to Owerri for relaxation and fun. If not the road Jonathan destroyed, the rate of movement from Rivers to Owerri every weekend is high. Owerri is the capital of tourism and hospitality in the East just like Aba and Onitsha are for trade and Port Harcourt for big oil business. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Pchidexy(m): 10:50pm On Oct 14, 2015 |
Abagworo: A state or country existing on a mono economy is an impending disaster. Imo state can not afford to be a state for fun only. Variety is the spice of life. Hotels are good. However, we need other industries. The government should make the environment condusive and stimulate industrialization. We don't need trips to Turkey to actualize it. We just need to look inside. Once again, Okorocha should discontinue the nonsense free education. Education is never free. Imo state is not buoyant enough. Governance is not showbiz. 3 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Abagworo(m): 11:03pm On Oct 14, 2015 |
Pchidexy: Which State made their environment for industries? Imo is trying to and Governor is even buying back sold moribund State owned industries all in a bid to industrialise the State but the truth remains that it is individuals that should run businesses and not Government. I am in support of individuals going against all odds to invest at home and employ people but you must bare in mind that we are all Igbos and can invest in what we deem fit to yield good profit. Tony Ezenna built his factory at Onitsha while Vincent Obianodo built his Hotel in Owerri. Why didn't Obianodo put his hotel at Awka while Ezenna site his factory in Owerri? The reason is because they both view Igboland as home while they site their investments where they found more convenient. |

Shut up this I.diot and stop mentioning Onitsha in your silly write up. Owerri is known for prostitution and not for anything else. Tourists rather go to Calabar or Akwaibom. Stop deceiving yourself here this silly old ugly man. [s] Abagworo:[/s] |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by chinology: 6:23am On Oct 15, 2015 |
Stop mentioning any part of Anambra on this thread, Anambra is not the reason Imo state is bankrupt and backward. Tell me why people rather build brothels in Owerri than building industries that will employ your graduates? It is because of abundance of cheap commercial se.x hawkers in owerri. Stop being silly because even your own people don't fancy investing in imo state. Obianodo is not the owner of that brothel in owerri, stop being stupid. All his investments are either in Lagos, Anambra, Abuja and Rivers states. Stop making it look like any serious investor is in imo state. [s] Abagworo:[/s] |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Pchidexy(m): 7:05am On Oct 15, 2015 |
Abagworo: Tony Ezenna did not do well. He already have warehouses in different places. Why didn't he build any of his factories in his state of origin. Simply, he is not patriotic enough. The position of Imo state between major industrial cities makes it a good place for siting industries of all kind. Stella Okoli of Emzor cited one of the biggest plant of the company in Awka.(why not Onitsha). She is from Nnewi married to Arondizuogu. Cutix cable cited his cable company at Nnewi. Nnewi is not a cable market. So Abagworo, it takes patriotism and faith to invest in your homeland. Coming to the government, a good government boost the morals of investors. Government do run businesses too even in developed countries. We can't neglect the role of infrastructure in developing a state. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Abagworo(m): 8:34am On Oct 15, 2015 |
Pchidexy: I have told you that it depends on one's view. Many Igbos view all of Igboland as one hence they invest wherever they want as long as it is in Igboland. Tonimas for example built chain of factories in Aba while he equally built a large Hotel in Neni his village. Some like Ibeto have factory in both Aba and Nnewi. Many Imolites equally have factories in their village but they are not much. I am happy you agree with me that it is not Okorocha's fault like some people are making it seem. We all need to invest in industries and not wait for Turkish and Chinese men to take over our State's economy. |

Abagworo, while owerri should be known for ' fun' as you suggested, what will the rest of imo be known for? Can't the rest go agricultural, industrial or something? I hope you know that tourism abi fun can't stand alone, even Dubai is a big commercial center . You still need roads and other infrastructures to drive tourism. Owerri has many bad roads and the sanitation is not as it used to be during ohakims time. I know owerri is planned and with improved sanitation is one of Nigeria's finest but I think you over hype it's tourism. Do you equate just hotels to tourism or are there sites in owerri that I don't know about? 2 Likes |
