PMB was interupted because he was supposed to answer questions on his view on sharia law, rather he went on speaking about Boko haram recruitment and attrocities.
11:30 minutes into the interview.

Uhuru Kenyatta eloquence and charismatic leadership is one of the reason Obama was very proud to go to Kenya for Americans to see a different Africa.

Buhari is never a leader whether in 1983 or 2015. All his ministerial nominees are ten times smarter, eloquent than him. He is just a figure head.
For a leader to hire intellectuals requires intelligence, your clueless, hat-wearing oga hired thieves and defended them all the way. I am still glad majority of Nigerians were not dumb enough to vote him again.

Buhari remains the CEO of boko haram. They want a good justification for amnesty booty now, hence their release from prison, clearing of army check points and emboldened attacks recently after GEJ hounded them into their caves.
Then stop wailing. No CEO ever stop the progress of his organization. You cannot have it both ways.
And I cannot deal with conspiracy theorists.

This is a not a disgrace. He performed fairly well and responded to the questions accordingly. I think what you're referring to is the fact that his accent is not admirable as you would expect, but you it's not wise for you to judge a great man by his accent is it No, I don't think so. I'll implore you to be patient for the next 2 years before you start criticizing his performance as a president. It's not easy to cripple a vicious terrorist group like Boko Haram in a developing nation such as Nigeria. The tools are not just available. The fact that the interviewer asked questions about Sharia infringed on his religious beliefs and rights which obviously made him a little bit upset. If you think this is a failure, you should watch Obasanjo's interview.

Promising you are a better person than the incumbent, showcasing yourself as a saint is where the issue is. Now l know and confirm why spectators perform better from the stand and once handed the mantle, excuses will be their watchword. PMB and APC promised to turn Nigeria around within hundred days in office.
But as soon as they entered, they saw the reality and demanded for 100days honeymoon for Buhari. So what they did was to blackmail Jonathan out of power and nothing else, they where never ready and prepared to govern. One Month is more than enough to show us where you are going, just your blue print and nothing else. If you cant show or face where you are going in more than four Months, 4years will be a short time for anything serious to happen.
To tell you that education matters in governance. As a leader you must not rely on your personal assistants always. Their job is to guide and not to take decisions. Idiagbon did it for Buhari then, now Elrufai is doing this time. Buhari lacks economic and political awareness hence he is always pushed around by his HAUSA unofficial aids.
Listen to Uhuru Kenyata, you will know that for you to be qualified as his assistant, you must be very sound.
Take it or leave it, Buhari is an analog president and that is not what Nigeria needs now.

Do you call a President timid simply because he called his interviewer to order? Do you cut-in while the President of a sovereign state like Nigeria is speaking? Do you allow your interviewer to overwhelm you, as a President and a former Army General? Is it not within your right to ask him to allow you make your point so that you're not quoted out of context and spending more and more energy trying to clarify what you said earlier? Is that what you call 'timid'? Aren't you glad you have a President who refuse to be intimidated by an ordinary journalist, unlike before? Do you expect PMB to lower his guard so that that small boy can push words into his mouth?

He only interrupted ONCE and that's because PMB was trying to dodge that question. Watch that video again and you'll see. In talking to foreign journalists, GEJ and PMB are on same level. Did you watch Fashola's appearance before the Senate? That's how not to appear timid no matter who's in front of you.

You can cook up all the ignorance, deception and even rewrite history to suit your ignorant mentality, fact remains that Nigerians voted and kicked Jonathan out of office because of corruption, incompetence and directionless administration.

He was doomed by Nigerians and not any political party and even sef, Jonathan had the upper hand with all the instruments of state at his disposal including public and private media aka AIT and NTA he used to disparage, dehumanize and spew propaganda against his opponents, but Nigerians didn't buy all that rubbish because they were fed up with GEJ's corrupt administration, incompetence and careless government.

Kenyata is the son of the former president of Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta. Uhuru grew up with silver spoon in his mouth, he was given the best education money can buy, he studied in the US at the Amherst College so his accent and refinement sounds pretty much standard with silver spoon kids like Uhuru.

So, was PMB exposed to such silver spoon and luxurious upbringing and pampering like Uhuru? Of course not.

It's very sad that clueless and ignorant people like you spew idiotic and thoughtless nonsense on the internet especially when you think you are making sense when in fact you are telling people how dumb and ignorant you are? Perhaps if ur father who has a certificate were president,I'm guessing he won't embarrass us eh? Besides, did u watch the interview? No leader has ever being interviewed by Mehdi Hassan that goes well. That's what the program is about.

If really he is a formidable change agent, it would have started from him by making Mehdi go into his shells. Sometimes your responses to your interviewer keeps him on check, interactive or sarcastic or even abusive. Listen to Obama interviews, listen to Uhuru Kenyata or even Mugabe as old as he is.
Guy this man needs to step up. As they denied us from assessing him before election all in the name that after all GEJ avoided same interview the last time. Now they have a job to do by brushing and putting this man to shape.
But unfortunately, he is too dull to learn considering his age and long term absence from educational activities and his passionless attitude to learning. No seminar organised, no book written, no public talk given, no award given by any school am aware of. Just interviews in Hausa etc

The question Hassan asked was tied to boko haram's supposed practice of Sharia, it is only logical of Buhari to dissociate what boko haram does from his views. Buhari was impressivel, I'll try doing a transcript of the interview later today if chanced.

I agree with you there.
The president seemed to be dodging questions, which must have gotten on the interviewer's nerves...sort of.

Regardless, that's basically what Upfront is all about;
Buhari should have been more than aware what he was signing up for when he agreed to be interviewed by Mehdi.

Apparently based on facts, Mehdi has a mindset that things are currently moving from bad to worse in Nigeria.
The president on the other hand was speaking on the contrary, as someone who is on ground.

He (Buhari) contradicted himself on the Amnesty International report. However, Mehdi gave him credit where due when he said that some staff of the army were sacked on his assumption of office.

The question he was asked on Sharia, and his response leaves much to be desired.
Now, I can confirm that Buhari really uttered those words.

Aside the mild altercation they had, I think it was a fair performance. I have to state though, in my opinion, that Buhari's capacity as leader in terms of Charisma and Mien is uninspiring, flatly uninspiring.
we didn't hire him for flair mien Mr charisma
we hired him to jail looters of the past(dead on arrival the moment he partnered with tinubu and obj) so we'll manage check quarrupshin in the future and give us at least 5 to 10 GW of electricity.

But President Buhari took it graciously and presidentially. GEJ stuttered when interviewed or gave weird theories like yam and goat, America will know, terrorism is our turn. He's hardly interviewed too except when he cannot dodge it. That's unlike Buhari who answers intelligently and with poise. Fashola is good but stuttered when asked about loyalty and gave a rubbish answer about signing checks. Buhari was spotless.

Of course, he supports Sharia and i guess most Muslims do. But that's not the question and supporting or believing it is different from implementation or changing Nigeria Constitution to it. Many christains have their doctrines and views about hell, unbelievers, sin etc. It is different from forcing your personal beliefs on others. Make that demarcation between religion and governance. I'm sure Osinbajo thinks Buhari is an unbeliever and vice versa. Nonetheless, we voted them to govern, not preach.

I'd love to argue but I respect your different view on the issue. Buhari on 2 different occasions got the name of his party wrong, called "West Germany" among many other mistakes so don't throw shades at GEJ. However as much as Fashola stuttered, he held the Senate more spell bond than anyone has in recent years. IMO, he is more eloquent than PMB.
